The hotel was booked last minute, we were greeted well by the receptionist and our room was not bad. Not on par to a 4 star hotel. Not even close. The breakfast was ok, nothing special. But in the second night there was a huge cockroach in our room. It was completely disgusting. We were paranoid the rest of the nights staying there. I'd recommend for the location if you don't have a rental. Nothing else, there's no parking nearby.

This is our second year at PdC. That should say it all. We travelled from Australia and our friends from the UK, in 2016 and 2017 amd plan the same trip next year to PdC. There are only positives about this establishment: situation, service, local knowledge, breakfasts and a great all round Greek feel. Management is brilliant and has good contacts with local taxis and tour operators. Quite apart from this, we like Chania. It's got a family feel and the staff know us now and we know them. We share stories, although I suspect we learn much more. What's not to recommend about PdC.

Very nice hotel in the center of old town. But what makes it super special is a customer service. We had a problem with and the front desk spent an hour trying to help us. We really appreciate the help and would definitely stay in this hotel in a future.

This 700 year old building is in very good condition with well appointed rooms. Roula & the staff are very gracious, thoughtful & caring. A delightful Breakfast with local & homemade offerings. It is a little back from the main waterfront action so quieter @ more relaxing yet only 50 mtrs from the bustle. Charming restaurants in the vicinity make sure you visit Xania & some of the smaller establishments away from the main waterfront for the best fare.

We had booked this hotel through Fantasy Travel in Athens as part of a larger Crete travel package. This was a hotel suggested by our travel agent. It is centrally located in the old part of Chania close to waterfront, shops, and restaurants. The hotel is in an historic building that was once the French embassy and is located in a maze of narrow medieval streets. The interior is quaint with a narrow winding staircase leading to three floors of guestrooms and a downstairs area for breakfast. Our room was room 5, probably the nicest room in the hotel on the top floor affording a great view of the harbour. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was a shower cubicle and was a snug fit. Although the hotel was good, the strength of this hotel is in its staff. They all are so friendly and ensuring our stay was comfortable and even right down to making sure everything was right with the breakfast. They were even kind enough to allow us check into our room before 8AM as we had got off the overnight ferry from Piraeus Things to keep in mind when booking into this hotel and many others in old Chania. Many of these hotels are in historic buildings meaning they will not a have a lift (elevator). Another factor are the streets of Chania itself. It is virtually impossible for a taxi to stop right "at the door." This means you might have to carry your luggage a little ways if staying at this hotel. The above factor has not influenced my review and want to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of the historic area. This hotel is reasonably priced (about €100) and has very friendly staff.

Very friendly staff. A very welcome drink on arrival. Harbour view rooms are at the top of three flights of stairs but worth it. They went to a lot of effort to provide a gluten free breakfast. Thoroughly recommend the hotel.

I stayed here for 5 nights on my first visit to Crete. I found the staff very helpful and friendly (as were most people on this lovely island), they helped me book some excursions which were excellent. This 650 year old renovated Venetian building with a long interesting history is extremely comfortable with "old world" decor. My room was very comfortable furnished with everything I needed. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We stayed April 2017 in this restored Venetian Palazzo just behind the historic harbour - comfortable, well serviced, with helpful staff, home prepared buffet breakfast and fantastic views over the lighthouse and Turkish mosque. Convenient to all pedestrianized centre of fantastic old town: all facilities very near, spoilt for choice. No lift so be prepared for stairs, Parking hire car necessarily outside pedestrianized zone- so not so good for the less mobile. But we managed at the free car park western end of harbour, a pleasant stroll.

We enjoyed a week at this lovely small Hotel, a delightful, historic building, our bedroom was furnished to a high standard and had six bright lovely windows. All staff were very pleasant but Voula was such an exceptional host, fresh eggs cooked at breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice. The Hotel arranged our taxi transfer with George, he was so polite, he even carried our suitcases up a few floors, as this Hotel has no lift. Location is perfect, We highly recommend this Hotel.

Lovely old boutique hotel in the old town part of Chania. Sister hotel to the Belmondo which we have stayed in before. Our room was not as big as in the Belmondo, but it was more than adequate for just a two night stay. Breakfast was OK, but choice for us Brits was a bit limited. Sadly, no boiled eggs, only a nearly cold omelette dish. There are three flights of stairs, and no lift, so if you are on the top floor, as we were, and if you are as old and unfit as we are, you will need oxygen half way up! This would have been a five star review, but for the inadequacy of the heating. It was January, and it was freezing. Only an A/C unit to heat the room, and despite being on full temperature all night it never really got toasty warm. The breakfast room was freezing! Only other negative was that our towels did not get changed, which would not have been a problem in Spring/Summer, but in January they were still damp the following morning. Still, a pleasant stay and a nice little hotel, with more than helpful staff.
