Be aware that if you're arriving by bus, the station is a bit of a walk with luggage, including a grueling 50+ step stair climb to get to the hotel. Best to take a local taxi to/from the bus station (about $9) Also, check in is between 4-7pm, so if you are arriving earlier, you need to make arrangements. Also, checkout is early - 10am. HOWEVER, the room is comfortable, the breakfast was good and the breakfast area charming. It feels like a family-run hotel and that's NOT a criticism. They go out of their way to accommodate you and try to help despite the language issues. That's not their fault but ours for not knowing more Czech. Other than the difficult walk through town with luggage, it's a nice place.

Very good place!

The place was really good! We had quite a walk from the bus station since the route is mostly rocky and with up and down hills. It was a little hard because we had carry on bags and backpacks. I would suggest getting in touch with the reception lady at the Villa Areka and she will get you a ride. I didn't know that we could have had that. Knowing this, I hope new guests with luggage like ours take that option.

Close to lots of restaurants, bars and stores. Great view from our window included though there were stairs to climb to get anywhere. We loved it here and wanted to stay longer.

Overall, a good stay

The view from the room was pretty and the firework show over the city was a wonderful surprise! The room was nice - but the bed was too firm and the room was not soundproof, so laughing from the lobby and the closing of doors was heard very easily. Other than that it was a nice stay and lovely to cross the bridge over the river from the hotel into the beautiful town.
