Rodeway Inn Rutland2.0 out of 5.0

I had to stay one night at this establishment because our home was being repaired. I decided to stay because this hotel was the cheapest around. All I needed was a halfway decent, comfortable bed and hot shower. Well, I got neither. The bed was lumpy with holes in the blankets - it was a very cold night in VT but they only give out one blanket. Theft issues apparently. Regardless, we will never stay at this location again (Breakfast consisted of lukewarm coffee and pastries.
If I could, I would give the Rodeway Inn less than one full circle if the program allowed for it. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room was unclean and if it wasn't late at night, and I wasn't exhausted from my trip from Seattle, I would have looked for another place to sleep. Unfortunately, I had a two night reservation. On the morning after my first night I asked the office to please vacuum the room as the floor was dirty and disgusting. I was assured that it would be done. When I returned to the room later in the evening -- nothing had been done. No maid service was offered.
Dirty Black mold through out bathroom Rude service Dirty bed Small room Stayed because was inexpensive. Guess one gets what they pay for. Hope to never have to go there again. Extremely busy people in the evening. Slamming doors and arguing.
Place is dirty, staff doesn't care. Beds were dirty pillows were dirty. One night was one too many. Sleep in your car. Hotel is on busy street loud at night. Town is nice lots of places to eat. I really liked the town but not this dump. Please don't stay here.
We went here because we were creeped out by the local cult hostel. The power was not working for the bathroom and we had no hair dryer. They do not make it easy to report issues like this either as there is no information in the room. Cleanish room with some very rough edges, loud all night, and non-working amenities. Dropping this brand from my list.
I booked this gem on Hotwire, it was listed as a 2 star hotel although other sites list this "hotel" as a 1 star. This place is a dump even though it's has brand name. I arrived a little past 10PM on a Friday and the office was closed. Taped to the door was a handwritten note with my name and room number. My room key was in their mailbox next to the door. The hotel doesn't look to be in the best neighbors. I checked out the room anyways, which looked very worn and questionably clean. Since I didn't feel the late check in process was safe. I called the phone number listed on my note and asked for a room change. The receptionist, Nikki was the rudest person I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry, and told me if I didn't like the room I could leave and find somewhere else to stay since, I had not been charged yet for the room. So I left and got a room at the Holiday Inn. When I called Hotwire for a refund they refused because the owner Nikki was unwilling to do so. I was never refunded the $62 I paid for the room even though I left the room key in the mailbox. Stay away from this place at all costs! You'll better off sleeping in your car!
If you are desperate and aren't afraid of rodents scratching in the walls at night, nor roaches scurrying along, this place is dirt cheap. Not to be confused with the Rodeway up in the hills. This one is the one in the city; and stay there at your own risk!! Not so friendly staff that speak not so good english as well.....
I did not listen as I thought...the reviews are old...NO WAY RODEWAY WOULD ALLOW A FRANCHISE TO CONTINUE LIKE THAT ? WRONG.....first while driving to the hotel we noticed what can be compared to a hoard (think Walking Dead) moving towards the motel. Two women arguing, men ,women with strollers cigarettes and forties of beer in hand. When we pulled in I was speechless. The pool in the picture is a rusted metal tub filled with dirt and weeds. The back of the motel was a cast of characters worthy of a sitcom, although not funny to us,milling around,.Sitting in chairs, openly smoking weed. My husband went in to check it out. He opened the door for a young woman with a child. She approached the desk and said 'I NEED ANOTHER KEY,MY EX IS ON HIS WAY HERE AND HE IS GOING TO 'BUST THE PLACE UP'. The clerk said NOTHING and handed her a key. Our show from the car was not better as a fight was brewing amongst some residents. At one point a door opened and I said Oh no a fire ! As the smoke billowed out of the room. No Fire..just weed as the owners stood and watched. At this point the hoard reached home, the Rodeway! It is way more than a matter of filth, dirt, run down facilities, you are risking your personal safety and well being.
When I checked into the hotel, the man behind the counter said he could not find my reservation. I then told him my conformation number and he found it. When I asked if the room was clean, he said "I will give you a key and if you don't like it you can go somewhere else" . I was appalled as I travel a lot and have never been spoken to like that. The pool only had one lounge chair and many young kids with foul mouths. Pool was tiny nothing like the picture. I later found out that there were many people living in that hotel that are drug users as friend of mine's boyfriend is a police man in the area and said they have calls for the that place. Online it showed a nice place, but in reality, it was the worse hotel experience I have ever had. I had to go to a funeral and was planning on relaxing by the pool on my last day but decided not to stay due to my experience.
the place is dirty the beds are dirty, there in no pool, the a/c doesn't work, people on welfare are living there, the people who run this place , for morn break fest don't wear gloves for handling food, don't spear English too well!
