Enjoyed 13 nights at this historic rental which is on a busy main street and although it was quite noisy ( much different to my own busy street in canada , it is because the cars " honk " for communication .) You will notice that through out most of Catania so if you are a light sleeper i suggest " professional ear plugs " so you are not disappointed. . Also bring mosquito spray because if you open the balcony area to enjoy it they find a way to sneak inside. We enjoyed day coffee , cocktails and evenings on it while people watching. The kitchen is equipped quite well if you are long term for cooking needs.. The fridge and oven are amazing ! the airconditoning will cool off your room within 10 mins no problem and we always had hot water for showering.. There is rain shower , but the pressure is best with the hand held one that is there as well.. They forgot hand soap so we bought for 1 euro at the Co op which is 5 mins away.. The fish market is closed early so if you enjoy flea markets get there in the day before 1 pm. If you can take the train ride for 5 Euro its at the main square 3 min walk and it can offer you so much to navigate Catania in short time. For money ? most take visa cards and atms are everywhere as the banks will NOT change your money . You need to be a italian resident . Also to note... which was wonderful ! there is a bus ( ALIBUS ) when you exit the airport and for 4 euro it took 9 stops to reach stessicora ( 3 min walk to the casa ).
