I found this place perfect for my needs and it met nearly all my expectations. An easy 30 minute walk into Castries, it is set within a local community, near a beach where you can swim and stunning views only a minute away. Facilities are basic but clean and tidy. Their welcome was warm and friendly. After that they leave you alone but are available if you need them. If you are looking for four star hotel style accommodation this isn’t for you. If you are looking to immerse yourself in the local society, and don’t mind more basic facilities then you can do no better. Young people would especially like this. It is also self catering, has cookers, microwave and a washing machine. Only niggle? Not enough cutlery if there were a few people staying but I found that such issues that arose were dealt with promptly by the owners when asked. All in all it is an excellent place filling the niche it is designed for. Excellent
Aanola Villas is located in a nice area and the sea and breeze that welcome you can really add to the experience. The room was nice. I had a few problems which I brought up with management and I was pleased with the response. I see myself visiting again. Word of advice for those coming in on the weekend or particularly a Sunday, most places are closed so come with your food or buy something at the airport.
i spent a week with my 3 friends in this guesthouse, i really can say it was a good discover, the guesthouse was in a quiete place near LaToc beach(5min waliking), Castries is just a 2km away. i really suggest it.
So you know i love a deal. I also dont like to share my gems. This hotel is a gem. I stayed in the beach facing suite. The wind at night was wonderful. We took many day nap with that cool wind. We sat in the garden and ate lunch. The place was clean. We was happy with this location, view and amenities with the suite. Water or beach near. Has wifi... not available all the time in the back. Which is a good thing. Check them out.
Please stay away. Do not ruin your vacation by having any dealings with the owner of this business and yes believe the other review where your credit card will be billed in excess. Do not give your card details to this business. I rented a car while on vacation and was shocked to see that Anthony had helped himself to my money without my permission. I was not even in possesion of the car and he had taken additional monies. I informed him that i would be at the airport at 1430 and he never showed up till 1705. When i called to express my disappointment he rudely asked me to go sit at the airport's restaurant and wait. I had my 16 month daughter with me who was sick at the time and i was weighed down with luggage, her stroller and car seat. Anyway, after I realised my money was gone i contacted Anthony who refused to reimburse me. I returned his car and had to file a dispute with my bank in order to get my money back. This man tried to make my vacation miserable for money that he knows I didn't owe him. Stay away!
Office was locked upon arrival, (thankfully, our taxi driver waited for 30 minutes to make sure we were safe). Had a wedding to attend at the nearby Sandals that is not within walking distance. Manager offered to drive the 5 minutes for 20 dollars. We paid more for taxi service over the three days then we did for food. On that note, we could not find food nearby with the exception of the hospital. (Little "cafe" closed for a holiday). On the last of our three day stay, we were able to get some breakfast and talk with some nice people. We enjoy hiking, etc., but this is not the area to explore.
Overall we were happy with this spot to stay. Any shortcomings were balanced by the excellent service of the staff. We did not use the restaurant on site. The area has a hospital and many medical offices, as well as nice homes occupied by professionals or rented out. There is a local beach, but it is not well maintained. The best way to get to town (a 30 minute walk) is the hourly shuttle bus from the hospital. The Sandals resort about 30 minutes walk away has a good beach accessible to the public. We arrived late and got a taxi ride from the Castries airport. There was no one there to meet us. The driver called the phone number and the manager drove over, let us in, and to our surprise, took us to a good restaurant for supper, waited for us, then drove us back. The staff person also arranged for a driver for us to go to Soufriere for the day for a reasonable price. While some rooms had a kitchen ours did not. But it did have access to a fridge, and the use of the roof top deck, which was huge and had a great view of the harbour entrance. We got a clear view of cruise ships coming in the morning and leaving at night. The room had bug screens and multiple windows gave a pleasant breeze at night. The in room shower worked, but was too small.
To make it short: The apartment is surely acceptable if you’re only staying for one or two days. But if you’re planning to spend a longer time there, you most certainly need to bring some humor to get over your not fulfilled expectations raised by the description on the apartment’s website. The beach is more of a wet cow paddock in the harbor of Castries covered in trash. Although the trash is getting collected regularly, entering the water is not something you really want to do. There’s no reception, the only way to contact the landlord was via email. The room service: Not sure, whether you can call it a room service. Not even basic services like towel change were done more often than every 7 days. While I had my tasty red Snapper in the oven, the gas was suddenly turned off. Turns out the bottle was empty. Four days without gas at least gave me the chance to taste Red Snapper from the microwave. To avoid sleeping under the plaster flaking of the ceiling you can simply push your bed in another corner. This will make the mosquito nets useless, but why would you need those anyway. Finally, I can recommend using the rental car of Aanolas Villas – if you’re technically skilled and able to fix a car yourself. If not, just rent a car from a professional company, there really is no difference in price. I’m most certainly not a discerning traveler and have already stayed in multiple guesthouses in the tropics but I’ll make sure to never return to this one. The price-performance ratio is terrible, the listed features are only partially available. PS: Aanola Villas used the credit card details provided to booking.com (for the payment of the guesthouse) to pay other bills without informing or asking me for permission.
I had reservations to stay here from January 15, 2017 through January 22, 2017. More than three weeks prior, I decided to cancel my reservation due to personal issues. Aanola Villas is refusing to refund one night's payment, fees and taxes. I will make sure that when I re-book my trip to St. Lucia, I stay elsewhere.
The villas are a nice looking place. The ambience was nice and welcoming. The only issue was nit enough outlets. In the bedrooms for charging electronics. There was no remote for the television and manual changing of the channels was no fun. There should be a television in the rooms also. It was nice being in St Lucia but the accommodations could have been better. The kitchen needed to be better equipped as there were not enough dishes, glasses, cups, etc we had to purchad what was missing to make do. But all in all I liked the location and St Lucia. Price wise we had one quote on line and ended up paying more and that bothered me. I will return to St Lucia but I will be more centralised.
