Berkeley was fantastic, we were blown away by the views from the property and the property its self.
Berkeley was fantastic, we were blown away by the views from the property and the property its self. The property was very well equipped and all the equipment and appliances were quality. There were lots of great walks to do from the door, a lovely local cafe with great coffee and cakes and 2 pubs, one of which we dined at (The Anchor) and had a lovely meal. Great communications from the owners to make sure all was well with our stay, can highly recommend Berkeley and hope to visit again. Thanks very much.

Berkeley! What's not to love! There aren't enough stars in the galaxy to rate Berkeley.
Berkeley! What's not to love! There aren't enough stars in the galaxy to rate Berkeley. The setting is perfect. The house was extremely well appointed. We've stayed in lots of lovely homes at similar level and price, but this exceeds them all.VERY well equipped kitchen, which was great for us as we cook everything from scratch. The log burner was a bonus. The balcony too.Parking for at least 3 cars. Dog friendly with lots of walks from the door step.Lovely well maintained garden. We would definitely recommend and will hopefully return at some point. The hosts, Craig and Hayley, were very friendly and responsive and open to feedback. They have nothing to worry about.Thankyou for everything.Judith and Gareth.

We loved Berkeley from the moment we arrived - that view! The house was spotless and the owners had left wonderful welcome treats - wine, crisps, fresh scones and even dog treats. The kitchen is fantastic - all of the appliances and utensils are superb quality. The snug behind it was a cosy retreat on wet days for reading a book, and was well stocked with board games. Beds and bedding were very comfortable, and it was great that they each had an ensuite bathroom. As dog owners, it was great to have the outside porch to use for drying wet paws and the utility room for dog bowls in a quiet spot. And when the sun came out, the corner sofa on the balcony was the only place to be!Kippford felt like a good base - we walked to Rockcliffe a couple of times and spent a fair bit of time in the woods and nature reserve around the house. We drove to Sandyhills beach and walked at low tide to the rock arch at Piper's Cove. We did a little cycling but could have done a whole lot more - both in the woods and on the road. Food shopping meant a quick drive to Dalbeattie, but for milk and bread we could just pop down to The Ark. The coffee, cakes, and breakfasts there come highly recommended! All in all, exactly the week we were after, in a beautiful house.
