This property is much bigger than the photos suggest.
This property is much bigger than the photos suggest. The rooms are gorgeous and there’s every modern convenience you could want (I now really want a quooker). The property manager was really responsive and quick to come and visit when the storm hit to make sure we were okay.Tons of parking, loads of garden space, cosy games room… possibly one of the best cottages we’ve stayed at.I recommend checking out the nearby deer park. And if you’re an avid reader, take a trip to Wigtown.

Beautiful house, great games room, clean and tidy.
Beautiful house, great games room, clean and tidy. Decorated to a very high standard. Short walk to pub (anchor hotel and mariner hotel ) both great. No shop in the immediate area but short drive to Dalbeattie has all you need. Only negative there were no logs for us on the first night so had to drive to Dalbeattie to get them. Other than that 5 stars would definitely recommend
From the minute you walk in through the doorway you are hit with a sense of home. The owner has created a haven of peace and tranquility with an intuitive sense of what is comfortable but aesthetically pleasing too. The decor and fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard.
The kitchen contained everything we could possibly need to cook for 5 people, Brooksyde is the best stocked house I have ever been in. From decent knives and scissors to a super-fast oven, everything in the kitchen made it a pleasure to prepare and cook meals. We all got addicted to the ease of using the Quooker tap, turn the tap and you have a cup of tea!!. Plenty of cutlery and crockery.
Easy to control showers on the ground floor, good water pressure in lovely surroundings.
The beds are very very comfy with crisp, pleasant smelling bedding, lovely to slip into on the very warm nights we had whilst in Kippford.
The garden at Brooksyde is beautiful and well-maintained with so many different corners, seating areas, lawn area and shady bits that no matter what you want to do outside there is a patch there for you. Good choice of chairs and tables.
Brooksyde is perfectly located in Kippford, away from the busiest parts but close enough that the first bar is only a 5 minute walk. The Mariners does nice meals, a good pint and a nice beer garden with stunning views across the estuary.
The communication from Neil was useful with local info and nice knowing he was there if there were any issues.
