Hotel is situated in centre of town close to United Nations square and Mohamed V. square. Bathrooms needs some refreshment, room was clean and breakfast was good. Staff was very polite. In the evening is nice music in the bar near reception.
At 4:30 AM the morning of Dec 31st, my room door was opened by a strange man with a key given to him by the hotel desk. The reception's response: it was a mistake. Really? I was appalled by the insincerity of the desk people throughout my stay, and while the place is reasonably priced and well located, I urge you to go elsewhere if you value your safety and peace of mind.
The hotel is situated at the center of Casablanca, really close of good restaurants. It was clean and the room was big enough, but the breakfast (that was not included in the price) was really bad. They don’t have almost anything, just some bread, juice and mermelade, and it’s 7€ per person. The staff is nice and there ir also a bar for have a drink (the beer is 3,5€).
I stayed at the Atlas on 2 separate Friday nights, a week apart. The first night I had an enormous room with 2 twin beds, very odd arrangement and so overly spacious it was nearly uncomfortable. The second time I had a standard Queen bed in a fairly normal sized room. My window was broken and wouldn't close in the second room, but the front desk had it fixed within 5 minutes. The hotel is fine for the price. It definitely needs some updating and new wallcoverings in the hallways. The front desk staff though was lovely and so nice. I slept well both nights and have no complaints. It would probably be a 2 star hotel in the US, with a bit more upgrades it could be a 3. I was going to have breakfast one morning, but woke up late, around 9:00am, and most all the food was gone, so I went to a cafe instead.
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the Nation Square and the Medina, in the city center of Casablanca. The rooms were clean except for curtains that had dust. We had free wifi in the rooms, a bathtub and hair dryer. The restaurant served very good food. It is a good option when visiting Casablanca. You can walk all alone in the city center with no problems.
We stayed here one night. We arrived late at night. The receptionist was talking to his family. Therefore, we had to wait for him to finish the conversation before he did the check in for us. The room was not so good. When we wanted to sit in the bed, there were insects under the cover. That was not nice. Positive sides: It is in the city center and not so far from the mosque. The bathroom was clean. We didn't have breakfast.
We got a room with really poor bathroom - no bathtub or even shower cabin. They changed the room, but the new one smelled really heavy of mold. So we gave up and stayed in the previous room. Thankfully, we were there just for one night. Coffee lovers, do not expect good coffee - really bad coffee even for hotel standards. Espresso is, of course, extra - 30 Dirhams, and was as large as two sips.
I spent at this hotel two nights, with a group of retired policemenfrom israel ! No porters outside , we had to carry our suitcases ! Food was cold . Nothing was tasty . They shouted at us because of early arrival to the dining room. Rooms were ok , but the toilet was leaking and i had to close the faucet. The reception staff were very unfriendly!
Firstly, we have booked a standard double room but we were given a single room. It had just one glass, one cup and one packet of Earl Grey tea. And it was smaller than the room of our friends. We complained but to no avail. They said that, if there are two pillows on the bed, it is a double room. It was supposed to have a view but the window has not been washed for ages, so the view could not be enjoyed. There was very little information in this hotel. They could not provide a map of the city, no information about the hotel either. We had to ask everything, e.g., the checkout time. One would expect a price-list in spa but it is not there so the list of available services and prices one has to extract from a lady with no English. We did not prepay breakfast but chose to have it. Each time they explained to us that we have not paid for it and ask the number of your room several times. You are constantly under suspicion, no matter how many times you ask to charge the room. Breakfast itself is barely acceptable. You have to ask for everything, e.g., if you do not ask for an orange juice, you will not get one. Staff at the reception is more friendly though. The hotel is very old and tired. Smells which are not strong but annoying are everywhere. It is not a 4 star hotel. The location was good, lots of nice restaurants around: we strongly recommend Dar Beida (Moroccan) and Le Rouget de L’isle (French). Taxis are easily available and the staff help you to get one and explain to the driver where to go.
Nice room, but the bathroom was not clean enough. Some traces of something disgusting in the hand basin. The position was ok. We added the breakfast for 70dh each, but don't do it. It' s a relly poor breakfast. Kind staff
