I will admit to not being convinced on my arrival. The standard transport includes those visiting for the day and it was a particularly busy day and it felt a little like being herded initially. However, once actually checked in to my room and as soon as I adapted to the pace of island life I had an incredible 4 days here. Once the day trippers leave at 3pm it is so incredibly peaceful - all you hear is waves lapping around you. I stayed in a sea view superior double which I would highly recommend. The room is enormous and beautiful with doors that open the full width of the room to make the most of the views of the ocean. I did very little - I read, I slept, I swam in the sea, I ate and drank and in the process I relaxed 100%. Yes it is more expensive for Colombia (although not vs comparable experiences elsewhere), no the food is not gourmet (but it is fresh and well prepared) and there are no vast expanses of white sand. Service is sweetly charming rather than slick. If you like chain hotels don’t go! But if you want a true escape from it all spot in the middle of crystal clear ocean with a lovely team of people that really want to ensure you are happy and enjoying yourself then this is it.

We enjoyed ourselves on this island very much. The bungalow was awesome with fantastic views. The service from the staff was excellent from the shuttle ride from our hotel to the port of Cartagena, the island and return back to Cartagena. I enjoyed the food and drinks. This is a great place if you enjoy snorkeling, paddle boards or canoes. The meals were prepared very well with care. The deserts were also done in a unique style for most traditional type of desserts. It should be noted the shuttle bus to the port will pick you up and return you to your hotel if it is in the walled city. Our entry and tax was included with the final bill at the hotel which was explained on the initial bill/ itinerary given after booking online. No surprises. A taxi ride from a hotel in Bocogrande is about a 15 minute ride and less than 15 pesos. The taxi will drop you off at the gates for the port. I would go back again. The ride on the boat to the island was very safe and quick.

This hotel and the staff were simply wonderful. Our accommodations were STUNNING, but a little bit rundown probably just due to the saltwater. We came from Tuesday through Friday. Snorkeling excursion was awesome, massages were wonderful & the night time enchanted lagoon trip was great! Ever our bartender and also kind of our guide throughout the trip was so lovely, JR was super helpful and Dyson showed ya a great time snorkeling. The staff was SO lovely. We stayed in the sea view room and it was lovely. The water is so beautiful. There isn’t a whole lot to do on the island so just bear that in mind if you’re the active kind like we are. WiFi works great! Food is very good I would stick with eating the fish (it’s the freshest thing on the menu). We also had a very romantic private honeymoon meal. Would 100 recommend this spot and will come back. Notes: check out takes a long time it would be helpful to have a quicker way of documenting and signing folks out.

We were lucky enough to have three wonderful nights in the beautiful bungalow. Waking up every morning with the view of the sea was incredible. The resort is so peaceful and private and after spending three days in Cartagena it was a welcome change of scenery. The staff were so wonderful, they really care about their guest and made us feel very special for the whole duration of our stay. The snorkelling was great and the kayaking was a lot of fun. This place is really special I can't recommend it enough. Go book the sea bungalow.

Without doubt Coralina island was the highlight of our trip to Colombia. This place made such a big impression on us. We felt very priviliged to stay here for two nights! If you get the chance, book the 'bungalow with sea view,' which is 'extraordinary' indeed. We did not only wake up seeing this clear blue sea, but also hearing the rippling water. We were truly spoiled by staying in this hut, getting tables with sea view and even a 'candle-light-dinner' one night. The atmosphere at Coralina Island is different from other paradise-like places around the world. What makes Coralina so special is the dedication of its owners - a French-Colombian family - whose love for the island, the sea, the (sadly, still living) coral and the inhabitants of the national park, translates into the care for the hotel's visitors. In particular, we wish to thank Florina, for sharing with us the history of and her ongoing attachment to this place. Truly inspiring. We spent way more than we could afford (be careful with the addictive cocoloco cocktails ;-), but it was worth every penny. Do not expect a five star all-inclusive resort, offering unlimited (high-end) food and entertainment - it is not. But this is exactly why we loved it so much. Coralina offers a highly comfortable stay with a personal touch and a unique closeness to nature. We cannot wait to go back!

There is much to love about Coralina island. It's a welcome relief from big Colombian cities and it's just an hour (on a fast, bumpy boat) from Cartagena. The setting is lovely, with decent snorkeling.(there's a three-hour trip you can book.) The staff is lovely, friendly and eager to help. There are some day-trippers but they are only there from 10 am to 3 pm, and the rest of the time the people in the seven rooms have the place to themselves. It's is especially lovely at night, with lights strung the trees; you can also request a table right on one of the decks for a romantic evening. Contrary to some reviews, you are not stuck with the same location on the water each day; it's reordered to your preference depending on when you finish breakfast. But you have to realize the accommodations are pretty simple for the price -- Tahiti prices without Tahiti luxury. The showers will be cold water. The food could also be improved. We stayed here three nights and quickly ran out of things we liked. The chicken is tough unless steamed in leaves; stick with the simple grilled fish. The wifi is very funky but you don't go to an island to look at your phone, right? I also had an excellent massage here at a very reasonable price. As mentioned, the staff is great. We noted our room (#5) was too dark to read at night and they immediately began investigating ways to add lights. They are responsible to feedback, and so some things may be improved by the time you get there. Overall, I would recommend staying here at least a night. It's an easy get-away.

If you seek Paradise, you find it here. Everything was perfect from the moment the boot arrived to it departed. You be taken care of by Pierre and Flora (daughter) and all fantastic Staff. Great Place

We took a day trip out to Coralina Island for a change of pace, and after a brief afternoon there, we were very happy we hadn’t booked time in the hotel. We travel a ton and fully appreciate that rustic and quirky places have tons of charm, but this property seemed to have the former without the latter. Nothing was terrible (except the lunch service) but nothing was great - towels for the chairs are small and worn out, lunch service at the outdoor restaurant was slow and uneven despite the requirement to order hours ahead- we had to get up and order our own wine after waiting 30 minutes; same for glasses of water. And the food itself was marginal - do not get the mushy stewed fish in a plantain or banana leaf... It wasn’t expensive, the boat ride out was fun and people were nice - especially (I believe) the proprietor’s daughter who gave some interesting historic pointers on the boat ride over, but spending a few hours there was more than plenty for us. Goes without saying, but know there is no beach - a few similar places do have manmade ones.

My partner and I were there from June 15 to June 17, 2019. We did enough research to find a place that seems like a paradise. Here is a summary of our experience of the beach view room. Transportation - the location is about 1 hr boat ride from Cartagena. We paid about 125 CAD for the boat rides to and from. Some people commented on the choppy boat ride, but for us it was manageable. Surroundings - this resort is a private island in the middle of the ocean. Definitely a unique experience for sure. It is sad to see that most of the corals surrounding the island are dead, so all we saw were white sea bottom. We saw some fish and starfish, which were cool. We ended up picking up garbage around their property, items that were not recently discarded, so they could have done better maintaining the space. Service - we were assigned to beach chairs on our first day. Some of the comments left here are correct: once they assign you a chair, you can't move to another chair. In comparison to our experiences in Colombia at various accommodations, we were expecting a world-class service as we were paying 370 CAD a night, which approx. 50% higher than other places in the area. The service was average. Accommodation - Given that the nightly rate is 370 CAD, the place is about average or less. They need to upkeep the rooms: rusted doors, flimsy mosquito nets, aged beddings, and plastic loungers seem cheap. The room is clean, but we wouldn't say the rooms are worth the price. Food - the food can be decent on the day when the delivery boat arrives. However, we ended up eating the day-before cooked food until the next boat arrived. Drinks - while we had to pay the conservation tax, the resort seems to give out plastic straws which did not make sense to us. Excursions - Only kayak and snorkelling masks are available as free excursions. Summary; This place is definitely surrounded by beautiful scenery. As a day trip, we highly recommend this place. But to stay overnight, this place is not worth it.

We will remember the experience for the rest of our lives. The service was impeccable, the food was authentically delicious as it was made with the finest local ingredients. Needless to mention the Island itself, the surrounding water and the unforgettable sunset - it was all magic. One of the most refreshing elements was how much effort is put into minimizing the ecological impact as the hotel co-exists, intertwined with nature itself. Hats off to Pierre and family, Kevin, John, Jose and the entire team of unsung heroes working hard everyday to make this a reality. Alex and Karina
