Hafan, Llansteffan - One Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 2

Hafan is a detached converted stone barn with outstanding coastal and estuary views directly opposite the historic castle at Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.  Dylan Thomas's boathouse is also a stone's throw away. It is one of two barns at Pentowyn, in a beautiful rural setting on the Taf estuary in Carmarthenshire. Originally a priory farm, Pentowyn now consists of the owner's farmhouse, the holiday barns and 5 acres of grazing land.

The cottage is light and airy and offers comfortable and well-equipped accommodation and is a great base for exploring the area; the Wales Coast Path passes behind the farm and there are many walks from the doorstep – including one to the saltmarsh with its abundance of wildlife or just relax in the grounds and enjoy a drink and the stunning sunsets.

Hafan is just a 5-minute drive to the long sandy beach at Llansteffan and in the village you will find a shop, beach cafe, ice cream cabin, Florries Fish and Chips and two family friendly pubs offering tasty meals. There is a tennis court, multi-use games court, playing field and two play areas for children. Llansteffan Castle commands impressive views up the River Towy and towards Carmarthen Bay and just beyond it you will find the delightful Scott's Bay.

The nearby bustling town of Carmarthen offers the usual range of facilities Including a leisure center, multi-screen cinemas, 10 pin bowling and museum. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and several castles are a short drive away. The area offers a wide range of activities including tennis, bird watching, sea fishing, cycling and golf.

There is a lawned area with a garden bench. There are stunning views across to Laugharne where you can watch wonderful sunsets. A washing line and BBQ are available. There is plenty of parking.
