Very good value, ideal to use as Base for visiting that area, very pleasant and helpful reception staff no complaints
First "non-smoking room" smelt like an ashtray. Helpful staff moved me to another available room. Second room was in need of decoration holes in plasterboard walls and missing full mirror. Staff very helpful shame about some of the previous guests! Shower excellent.
Stale cigarette smell, hairs on the bedside table, dirty & tatty sofa bed, broken kettle, poor tv signal...
The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was also very useful to be able to buy a bottle of wine, extra coffee and snacks at the reception desk.
The staff were friendly and the room was neat and tidy and always in a good condition when I returned each night.
Room was adequate but tired. Chair ripped on corners. Staff good and room clean. Showing it's age and modernising. No USB outlets and only 1 pwr outlet. OK for a quick nightstop but not multiple nights.
Located opposite mcarther glen shopping outlet on the other side of the motorway. Check in was slow as it seemed they had issues with the card machine. Enter your car registration at reception for free parking. Tea and coffee facilities in reception and also in your room too. There is a microwave in reception too and drinks and chocolates and crisps for sale. Room was clean and smelled clean. TV with free view channels. Large shower with shower gel. Hair dryer in room. Pillows were very thin but we asked for extras and they gave them to us thankfully. we would stay here again and reasonably priced and clean. Good tip is to look outside for wildlife.
This place needs money spending on it desperately...more basic than basic and really does not cut the mustard in this day and age..room was dated, decor tired, but on the whole clean. Two sockets, taken up by the tv and kettle really isn't enough these days when you have a family wanting to charge ipods, ipads and phones at the same time, so impossible to dry your hair, have a cup of tea, watch tv or charge phone at the same time!! Hopeless... Bathroom, whilst having a great big shower, was in my mind rather unhygeinic. On stepping into the room, we literally sank into an indent in the floor covering...it was obviously completely sodden and rotten underneath which was not a pleasant sensation. seriously in need of complete renovation..dread to think what was going on under there. The fan had lost it's cover too, and you could see right into the dust covered innards of the extractor which was so loud, you couldn't put the light on for fear of waking anyone up... Soundproofing was non existent..we were woken 4am by whatever was in the room above, three elephants I imagine, who walked miles up and down, had a few showers and watched tv into the wee hours...eventually had to go to reception in my nightie to ask twice if they would go and tell them to shut up. Eventually, at 5.05 am the noise abated...very annoying as we had an early start and we were shattered... On a positive note, every member of staff at this place were helpful and friendly. .Alas, we will not be returning...
There's not much I can say about this hotelas we didn't stay long. Booked it for a wedding which was happening nearby. Arrived and the receptionist was very helpful, friendly and efficient. When we got to our room, the heating was on full and the windows were all closed (it was sweltering -this is the only reason the hotel lost a rating). We opened the windows, quickly got changed into our wedding guest outfits and left for the evening. when we got back, the room was a better temperature and we were able to get a lovely night sleep .
I am not suggesting this is a 5 star establishment, it clearly isn't but what it is is clean, convenient as straight off m4 and close to shops, and by and large during my 4 nights very quiet. The real stars of this hotel are the staff, who are warm, friendly and veryhelpful. On my last night I had very noisy neighbours, the night staff were very efficient and moved me and spoke to offenders. So overall for a work stop over, or a family break away why would you go anywhere else?
