Very well located and very friendly staff, reasonable price, room little but ok for staying a few days if you are by yourself and want to be in the same center of Cardiff
Overall, I liked my stay here. I booked a single room but ended up with a nice, big double which has its own good-sized bathroom. It was all very clean and reasonably quiet, and the location is excellent, really close to Cardiff Central Station, not a far walk from Cardiff Castle, and in the midst of many restaurants and shops. The breakfast is yummy, too. The cons: supposedly there's free wi-fi throughout the hotel, but my hotel room was at the end of the hall and I got no reception whatsoever. If I walked a few rooms down or to the lobby I could usually get a decent signal, but it was awkward and inconvenient to not be able to be in my own room. Also, maybe it's just me but I found the beds hard and super uncomfortable. I was glad I had two beds, because this allowed me to sleep on top of one duvet and use the other as a blanket.
Short distance to Cardiff Castle, shopping, restaurants, night life and the train station. Central neighborhood can be noisy at night. Staff was helpful. The hotel was clean but hasn't been updated for a long time. My single room was tiny, barely room to turn around. The mattress was thin and lumpy. Good English breakfast. Definitely a budget stay if you aren't looking for much.
average in many ways, but I love the staff, and its not expensive.
