Campanile Carcassonne Est La Cite3.0 out of 5.0

For £46 per night booked through Hotels.com this hotel represents excellent value. It has everything you would expect in a budget hotel but with outstanding service. The quality of the food is excellent and the value for money unbeatable. We stayed for 4 nights. The weather was diabolical but Carcassonne is a beautiful place to visit whatever the weather. You must be prepared for a 20 minute walk into the old city...but for what you pay it really is great value.
We stayed at the Campanile Carcassonne Est hotel for two nights in September. The whole experience was superb and was excellent value for money. We have stayed in Campenile hotels for many years and generally find them clean and functional and generally a cut above other budget hotels. However, this particular Campanile is a cut above the norm. In fact I have stayed in 4* hotels which have not really compared. We arrived late at night and the night porter was polite and helpful, even getting us drinks from the bar. Unheard of in any other Campanile or other budget hotel I have visited before. Our bags were carried to our rooms. The hotel is a new building with lift and everything in the same building, as well as a 24 hour reception and bar. We ate in the restaurant for dinner one night and two breakfasts. Both were excellent in particular the dinner that was good quality and value. The breakfast at 9,90€ was perhaps a little pricey, but fresh and tasty. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and the linen was soft and clean. Whilst I am sure this is subjective, the pillows were too soft for my taste, but I am sure they would have replaced them had I have asked. The air conditioning was good and efficient. Big thank you, to all the staff who were friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough to help. We are returning to Carcassonne shortly and will be staying again! Would highly recommend.
The room was clean EXCEPT for the dirty, stained, spotted and nearly worn out carpet. I looked in several rooms and the carpet was similar in all of them. The rooms are terribly tiny, there is no chair, instead there is a wooden bench. The bed is comfortable, the pillows have seen better days. The people were very nice. The lobby was attractive but the exterior of,the building was full of trash. The parking lot is fenced and the gate locked at 10:30. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the medieval city. It is located amoung store. The bathroom is a good size, there is a built in small desk and a small tv. I was told, that all the rooms are the same. Did not eat here. There is a swimming pool, but it's October so,we didn't use. It. This is very much a like a college dorm room, spare, sparse, and functional.
Stay8ng here whilst researching a local manor house. Very clean and modern. Dinner was very nice and reasonable 2 courses for €17 Breakfast buffet style hot and cold very good quality. Good heated outside pool too Friendly helpful staff £103 for a 2 night stay I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Really nice for 3 star. Stayed a couple of nights to see family. Nice terrace. Staff helpful and room adequate. Lovely and clean and reasonable price for food and drink. Even a little pool area. Nice location. Not great views but near the attractions and shops. Would stay again.
This Campanile was a proper hotel with everything in one building. It sported a swimming pool and sun terrace. Our room was lovely as was the breakfast and dinner. The receptionist was very helpful and suggested how we could spend our day in Carcassonne. We followed his advice and had a fantastic day. It is very easy to find and was in a quiet location.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and it is very convenient for Carcassonne cite and visiting other places too. You can walk to the Cite or take the car and park in a side street. The hotel is clean and tidy although the breakfast at €10 is a bit pricey and there is not much choice so not really value for money. There is now a small swimming pool on site which is handy for a cooling dip on a hot day
This hotel is on the Eastern edge of Carcassonne about a 10 minute walk to the Old City. It's clean, modern and has restaurant and outside pool. Our room was a reasonable size and very quiet. It's situated on a shopping outlet area and has a large car park. If you want a straightforward good value hotel with a bit of a walk to the main attractions, shops and restaurants then look no further!
Chaotic computer system, they had no idea who we were on arrival, took them a long time to find our booking ( made through Hotels.com) and then no room clean so sent us away for a couple of hours, then when we returned we had the same mislaid booking rigmarole, eventually sorted.. That said, the room was clean, modern and comfortable, the wi fi works, there were coffee and tea making facilities. and there was BBC 1 and BBC2 on the TV most days ( lost the signal one day which had storms). Good secure parking. The hotel is 20 mins walk from the Cite, across a commercial complex ( which has a Geant supermarket and a Lidl) then down a suburban street. It is walkable though you can easily find parking on the suburban road if you want to reduce the walking time but avoid the hefty parking fees in the car parks just outside the Cite. The breakfast was 9.90 Euros which we thought was hefty so we didnt take it though there is nowhere nearer to eat except MdDonalds until you reach the town,, fortunately we had a car. There are evening meals offered and they seemed OK value but we ate in Carcassonne Cite nightly so didnt experience the restaurant.,
We stayed here on our way to Spain and we found this hotel ok.On our return journey we stayed here overnight. The young man at reception was very offhand which was the reverse of the reception we had experienced on our first stay.I requested a room with disabled facilities, it turned out to be small and the shower room had minimal facilities.Worst of all the towels provided supposed to be white when in fact they had not been replaced for a long time and they were grey! It would seem that this room had not been serviced for ages! Dinner was poor and service the same.
