Better than Description

We stayed at Peace of Paradise over the holidays and it surpassed expectations. Check in was a breeze with Kale meeting us at the dock with golf carts ready to go. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our time there. Although the island still showed some signs of damage from the hurricane, the property was in perfect shape and the beach was amazing! Thanks for a great stay!!!

Fabulous Island Getaway

This property has the most outdoor amenities on the entire island! Hammocks, tiki bar with bar swings, pool with a waterfall, grilling and pizza making and so much more. The beds were comfortable and the house was fully stocked. We love that the layout of the home is one big circle and every room is super unique! We will book this property again if it is available for our annual Labor Day trip.

Great home on the island

We had great communication with the owner throughout our stay, and property managers for most of our stay. The house was beautiful with easy access to the beach! Fully equipped for our needs and lots to do right at the house. The only minor thing is that the bunk room was fairly tight, and definitely would have been chaotic had we needed more than one or two of the beds.

Escape from winter

Enjoyed a little adventure to North Captiva from cold Minnesota! Had a great time walking the shell covered beaches and catching up with family in a quiet, relaxing place. Great home to stay at! Communication and planning was amazing, highly recommend.

Great family vacay

Multi generational family vacation that didn’t disappoint! North Captiva is a fantastic place and Peace of Paradise was a lovely home away from home. The pool and outdoor space was the highlight of the home. Kitchen is stocked for all of our cooking needs. Highly recommend

The house was super cute and clean, the outside bar with swings was super fun and having a shower outside was convenient. The pool was nice with the waterfall very calming. The pool lights at night did not work. It was nice having 2 golf carts.

Beautiful Place

The house was in great, clean shape and was as described. Communication with the owner and Tortuga was fantastic. The downstairs patio was perfect for games and dinner straight off the grill. We would stay here again!

Truly a Peace of Paradise!

This was our second trip to the island and it lived up to everything we remembered! Peace of Paradise is a wonderful place. The downstairs bar and hammock area, along with the pool are AMAZING. Whenever we were not at the beach this is where we were. The house was clean and decorated so cute. The beach is only a short trip away, and "town" (aka the restaurant/bar) was close too! Clean up is still on-going on the island, but it's still the most relaxing place!

Peace at Piece of Paradise!

We loved our Captiva Island vacation! The design of the round home and all its windows for natural light was so lovely. The home was clean and had such beautiful style and decor. The kitchen and grill amenities were fabulous. We very much enjoyed the outdoor features and all the seating areas. The pool is situated nicely for sun and shade, and we really loved the waterfall feature for a peaceful sound while enjoying the patio area. The beach was just a five minute walk along a quiet and pleasant road. The whole island is quiet and peaceful. We absolutely loved how secluded and peaceful it was…no cars, no big buildings, the beaches were wide and open and not crowded. And our kids had a blast at the beach every morning, playing in the sand and water as it came in and the many shells there were to find (I loved this too!). We then spent a couple hours at the pool in the high sun if the afternoon, and then went back to the beach for the late afternoon and sunset. It was fabulous. A truly magical place. And worth some of the logistical effort (shuttle, grocery planning, and ferry) to get there. Molly, the owner, was very thorough with trip planning information and promptly in touch, as was the concierge service they have hired to take care of anything for you during your stay. We would love to stay here again!

Perfect location and perfect home

Our family had an amazing time at Peace of Paradise. House was perfect for my husband and I and our 4 boys. All the amenities that came with the house were well used and great. We appreciated the communication with the owners as well as the entire Tortuga team! Great home, great location.

Paradise for sure!

Our stay at Peace of Paradise was exactly that - Paradise! The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. There were plenty of towels for swimming and showering. Our kids loved the triple bunk room. Plenty of space for our family of 8 to spread out in. The pool area had a very tropical feel with beautiful landscaping. The area is surrounded by trees, making for the perfect amount of privacy for our family. (Highly recommend bug spray!!) The waterfall rock feature into the pool made for a relaxing feel. The 2 golf carts were amazing, and probably our favorite part of our stay. We enjoyed many rides around the island just exploring all the beauty North Captiva has to offer. We did have 2 minor issues with one of our golf carts, but the owner Molly promptly had it serviced, and we were back on the road within hours. (Shout out to Derrick at Pieces of Eight Golf Cart Repair for taking care of us so quickly and professionally). Our experience with Tortuga Properties was good. They assisted us throughout the entire process and efficiently supplied us with anything we needed. We would absolutely recommend Peace of Paradise to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing family vacation on the island. We hope to come back very soon and enjoy it all over again! Thanks again Molly for renting your beautiful home to us. We made memories that will last a lifetime! - Brian & Julie Martin

Great house

Great house with lots of amenities. The reverse osmosis drinking water was great. Kitchen, patio, pool were all well furnished and easy and fun to use. It's a beautiful house. Only two drawbacks we found: beach is probably a 10 minute walk but if you're bringing cooler/umbrellas/etc, you need a golf cart... for the price we thought we'd be closer to the beach. Also the walls are thin :)

Family Celebration of Nana and Papa's 50th Anniversary

Peace of Paradise is just that. It is a peaceful, idyllic getaway that allows you rest and relaxation or fun and adventure if you want it. We had a family of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids aged 6 to 11) and it was the perfect size with 4 bedrooms. The house was well equipped and had plenty of spreading out space. The pool was beautiful and always warm. The views from the deck were wonderful and we still miss sitting there every monring to drink our coffee. We saw a lot of North Captiva, including the planes landing at the airstrip and lots of sunsets at the beach. We also took a trip to Cabbage Key, where we saw the Manatees very close up!! Lovely home and island.

Paradise Indeed!

North Captiva is a special place, made all the more enjoyable by having such a lovely home to stay in and attentive property managers to assist you. Tortuga staff were waiting for us at the dock with a trailer for our luggage and groceries, and our two golf carts. We followed Duncan to the house and he pointed out a few areas of interest along the way. We needed nothing during our stay, but I am confident that Tortuga would have handled any issues with ease. They also arrived promptly for our departure. Island Girl Charters is a seamless operation as well. Don't fret about the groceries - you can easily bring whatever you need, and there are options to have more delivered if necessary. We enjoyed a casual dinner at Mainstay and another meal at The Boathouse (reservations needed there.) We would definitely stay at Peace of Paradise again. I am kind of...um...picky...about vacation rentals and will look at pretty much every house and every review, so you can probably trust my judgement on this. I will add a few details though, in case anyone wants to obsess over them. :) Location was perfect. A very quick golf cart (or bike ride) to the beach or the nature preserve. The carts were well maintained. There is no club membership, but we didn't miss it at all, especially with having such a nice pool at the house. There are so many comfortable places to relax. Internet was not great, but all the more reason to unplug and enjoy. We appreciated all the things that you don't want to have to think about bringing: dish pods, laundry pods, soap, shampoo, conditioner. Beds are comfortable, towels are plentiful, appliances are all good. What else can I say? Molly obviously cares about her guests. Did I mention the dolphins, manatees and crazy amount of seashells? Oh, and don't miss sunset on the beach - it's a bit of a thing - everyone goes...
