Such a beautiful hotel with stunning views of the mountains. Exquisite gardens to explore or to sit quietly and relax. The food was great, the staff was friendly and there a lots of huge library-like rooms with couches and chairs to crawl into and read all day. Cappuccino's, teas etc available all day On the negative side, the hotel room drove me crazy. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was pretty standard as far as the rest. However, the lighting is so poor that I had might as well have done my makeup in the dark by the light of a cellphone. There is no dressing table to I had to figure out what to do with my hair straightener without setting fire to the carpet or myself. I get so frustrated at the extremely masculine rooms in hotels (a worldwide thing I might add). Half the world's population is female so please accommodate us!! Would I go back? In a heartbeat

I visited the Vineyard with my father for 2 nights. The hotel is larger than I expected but maintains a lovely mix of old and modern, keeping that air of luxury without losing it's character. The grounds are fantastic for an evening stroll and the mountain view rooms are a must! I was initially worried about being in the newlands area due to needing to drive to get to cape town but upon reflection it was equidistant from anywhere we needed to get to and it was nice not to have to stay in a bustling city centre. The staff were lovely, especially the staff in the Breakfast Room and the Bar restaurant. Andile really looked after us and gave us what I would call perfect service when we had dinner at the bar. I would happily recommend this hotel in future.

This place is fantastic, it is clean, efficient and has staff that are superbly trained and very friendly and pleasant. The hotel prides itself on its service and is ideally situated with magnificent views of Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch. Highly recommended and I will certainly be back

Stayed at the Vineyard Hotel twice in July and both visits held the same truths The staff were great in terms of check-in, valet parking, the bar and the restaurant. Warm, couteous and efficient. The breakfast set up in restaurant was just about perfect - the courtyard is a very pleasant place for breakfast and the choices and quality of food was just about perfect. The hotel rooms in terms of decor, its gardens and its outlook to the mountains are hard to fault. But not impossible. In both rooms the aircon was noisy, seemed to pay no attention to temp settings and clearly old. Rooms have been spruced up but the infrastructure such as the aircon seems to be have been left untouched. That spoilt an otherwise perfect stay.

We stayed here for 4 days as a base for exploring Cape Town. It's just a wonderful oasis. Impossible to fault! The breakfast is incredible with all sorts of delicious locally sourced foods. Staff are all so friendly and helpful.

The vineyard never fails to disappoint. Great bar area for sundowners or sushi. Romantic dinner venue with fantastic food. Luxurious rooms with stunning mountain views. Superbly helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Nothing to fault this hotel.

Vineyard is our favourite Getaway retreat. Always classy and great service in beautiful surroundings. We never had a bad experience and this is our hotel of choice when we are celebrating a special event.

Really beautiful old hotel in the heart of Newlands. Rooms were done out very stylishly. Breakfast was awesome, the choice was huge. Staff very accommodating. Great to get back to the hotel after a night out and still have a coffee or drink in the bar area at 1 am in the morning. I enjoyed staying for the first time in the leafy suburbs instead of the city center, great places to eat nearby. Very central.

I have always wanted to stay at this hotel as I only heard good things. I must say that I was not disappointed. We spent two nights at the Vineyard Hotel and Spa and I wish we could stay longer! This hotel has an immense history and it is a combination of old and new from historic buildings and décor to modern touches and amenities. The service from check in to check out and everything in between was friendly and professional, a job well done! We stayed in one of the Courtyard Facing Rooms, although these are the entry level rooms we still had ample space and all the amenities one would expect from a 4 star deluxe hotel or even 5 star hotel. Our room had a bath and shower in the bathroom and amenities like a mini bar, Nespresso machine and more. Although we did not have the mountain views we still looked out onto a beautiful courtyard with stunning gardens. Breakfast at the hotel was just as good and the continental selection is large and the A La Carte selection was just right. We also explored the gardens of the hotel and I was truly impressed, the gardens are big enough to find a secluded corner and just relax while reading a book. You can even book a guide tour of the gardens should you wish to do so. The views onto the side of Table Mountain was also amazing and it truly did not feel as if we were even close to the busy city center. I can recommend the Vineyard Hotel and Spa to the sophisticated traveler who is looking for that something different to your standard city hotel.

It starts with the helpfullness of ALL the staff. They help, ask and attend to be very friendly. The breakfast buffet is fully equipt with everything you can ask or wish for. Ordere roomservice and everything was great. Used the gym which was quit fine i prefered some more space there but for a hotel-gym more then suitable
