My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Queen Victoria Hotel in October, 2017. It is located just across the street from the vibrant Cape Town waterfront, so there are a lot of shops and restaurant options nearby. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed, quality linens, bathrobes, blow dryer, coffee maker, and fast, free WiFi. The service in the hotel and restaurant was impeccable. There's a well-equipped fitness center, a spa, and a lovely outdoor pool and grassy lawn (though it's a bit chilly for swimming in October!). If you don't mind spending a bit more, the adjacent Dock House, a historic building under the same ownership, is CHARMING. Upstairs rooms at the Dock House have views over the pool to the waterfront. The Queen Victoria and Dock House share the same gym, spa and pool.

Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. Had a view of Table Mountain from the balcony! Everyone was friendly and helpful with directions, restaurants, printing tickets for the cable car at Table Mountain. Breakfast which is included was also very good. Location is a very short walk to the V & A waterfront. Highly recommend!

The Queen Victoria is an excellent hotel; our three night stay was made so enjoyable by the exceptional staff, who clearly take great pride in offering superb service. Everyone, from reception staff to porters to housekeeping to restaurant staff - all made us feel completely at home and special. The room was spacious and well equipped, the size of the hotel, with only two floors of rooms, felt more intimate than we expected and the food, both at breakfast (such welcoming smiles!) and for dinner was of very high quality. Reception even managed "to go that extra mile" and sort our online check in and boarding passes when we were en route to Jo'burg by train. And the location is absolutely perfect too. Highly recommended.

We are raving fans of the Queen Victoria Hotel in Cape Town! This is our fourth visit in 5 years and we love the experience. The staff is spectacular.... from the front desk, to the housekeepers and the entire restaurant team. The new Chef, Albert, prepared the finest tasting Kingclip fish we have ever tasted. We returned for a second dinner of this linefish and it was as fine as the first dinner. Try the QV... you will be delighted with the close proximity to the waterfront shops and entertainment!

Our second trip to Cape Town and stayed here again. As good as it was last year. Perfect location for us, just across the road from the lively Waterfront yet providing tranquility. Fantastic staff. Lovely rooms. Restaurant , bar, terrace all have views of Table Mountain.

We booked this hotel last minute as we decided to stop in Capetown on our way to a Safari. All the other hotels waterfront were booked solid so this was a last resort....we could not have been happier! I wish we would have started with this hotel. The service was amazing from the the front desk, to the bar, to the restaurant....all were excellent. My husband got a little upset because they did not make up our room one day but they eventually fixed the problem and left a bottle of champagne in our room with glasses and chocolate. ( P.S. the leave a flipping chocolate or bite size dessert by your bed every night....just terrible! wink wink! ;o) We had great talks with the bartenders and our friends by the fireside.... It's sucha quick easy walk to restaurants, the waterfront and great shopping. I felt totally comfortable all by myself. Uber can never find this hotel so be sure to ask the front desk what to put into your app when calling an uber. I would most certainly come back here again! We had 2 rooms and they were roomy and comfortable! the bathrooms were luxurious!

We had the pleasure of staying in the Manor House, which the newest addition to the Queen Victoria Hotel, due to a mix-up with a booking for Dock House (part of the same complex. The Manor House has only four rooms, with views of Table Mountain and includes Private Butler service. We were blown away, Alex and Gershwin made our stay very, very special (and we forgave Dock House).

Prior to our trip to Cape Town I was doing the usual research and as I had not been before initially looked at the usual (safe) suspects, Hilton/Marriott/similar. However, it became evident that Cape Town had more to offer than your standard chain hotel offering and the Queen Victoria ended up being a great choice! For a start, the rooms (above average size) have a homely feel and the bathrooms are very spacious. The staff provided a more personalised approach which you can only do when you cater for a max of 70 guests (35 rooms) It was a first for me to have a pro active driver (apologies, forgot his name) who highlighted the various points of interest along the route from the airport. We had G&T's by the fire one evening and the barman was excellent in helping us choose a local gin which I was surprised existed. Breakfast was in the formal restaurant with views of Table Mountain with a mixture of buffet and cooked to order -all very good and nicely presented. Location wise it was literally a few paces from the Waterfront so it more than ticked all the boxes. Really enjoyable stay and my first choice for any future return visits to Cape Town.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. Location is very good . Right I the middle of the Wharf but a little out which gives you a quiet corner with a minute walking from the busy area. The hotel is small with 3 floors. The breakfast is very nice and they let you also choose to eat in the V&A hotel which is near by. Service is very good and people are friendly. I believe it is suitable both for visitors and business. The spa is in a small building next door. Very recommended .

We have spent 5 nights at the Queen Victoria hotel and consider it to be a jewel. Perhaps a hidden jewel. For the following reasons: 1. It's small and intimate, perhaps 30 rooms. 2 the rooms are magnificent, rooms beautifully appointed and, dare I say, I love there being a SEPARATE toilet room 3 the staff are superlative - know their job, very friendly and attentive. 4 close to all of the attractions of the V and A waterfront 5 piano music during a meal in the restaurant was a pleasure 6 the breakfasts are exceptional 7 the restaurant. What can I say? The best food I have had in 2 weeks in South Africa. Reasonably priced and far better than anything we tried on the waterfront itsef. One meal for instance was : Gorgonzola soufflé plus vegetable terrine for him: and tempura prawns and pickled vegetables followed by vegetable terrine for me. The best meal yet! Fresh, beautifully cooked and presented.
