Ideal location - easy access to freeway, tyger valley mall and other amenities. Good breakfast. Very cosy and comfortable rooms - kept clean and well maintained. Fridge, Microwave facilities. Very friendly staff and customer service.

My room is clean but my biggest issue is that it is facing the highway Secondly the room service - I was told 20 minutes I am now wait for over 40 minutes It is winter and I am cold in my room So won't be visiting again

This hotel needs upgrades big time. Furthermore, the location in between 2 busy roads is causing lits of noise. Breakfast is good. Bathrooms are ok. Without a care this hotel is not ideal as you walk a lot to all different rooms.

Excellent place to stay. Clean rooms, lovely staff, good food, beautiful views, well located between airport and city-centre. Good shopping centres nearby such as Century City and a good base for a few days to CapeTown and the nearby attractions of Table Mountain, Robben island and Cape Point. Relaxing venue.

Booking started with me not appearing at the hotel reservations list! But the pleasant staff resolved the issues immediately! Room was great and clean! Aircondioner was faulty! Great hotel, and I stay there often! If I can give the only negative review it would be the food at the restaurant, I have not had great food there and at the price I would certainly recommend to rather eat out! Wonderful hotel, best view of Cape Town!

We had a very pleasant stay at Protea Hotel Tygervalley. The STAFF were amazing and prompt with every request. Wi-Fi dropped often and bed were not the most comfortable but everything else made up - especially the amazing view. Tahnk you TEAM - keep it up!

This was a nice place but there is nothing special about it. The staff was friendly and there was nothing wrong with it but you might look elsewhere if you just need a place to stay for the night after a long flight (or flights) into Cape Town.

I have never seen such friendly and accommodating staff. They welcomed us really warmly and were super efficient. The rooms were comfortable and clean and reasonably spaced. Good value for money. Breakfast was really good and they catered for our special halal option. The staff had no issue to keep bringing us water since it was really hot in Cape Town and very little rain. Had a perfect nights sleep. The sunset views from this hotel is amazing

The staff made us feel welcome and at home, this was our first stay there, not our last. Rates were reasonable and facilities are standard average, ideal for our purpose. Food was good throughout our short stay. Excellent views of the city from its elevated position. Aircraft coming in to land as seen from our windows was quite pleasant, albeit at a distance.

Firstly, booking was frustrating. Calling the call centre I as the customer was told to call around to see who can accommodate me. Upon calling again Lindsay was inconsiderate and disprectful. Gillian eventually assisted me after back and forth about where they would actually accept the voucher. Booked Durbanville after trying Franschoek only to be booked at Tygervalley. Upon arrival at the hotel I was greated by an ethusiastic Kristen who then required payment. Oblivious to the payment that was required I informed here that we booked my parents in and they had no payment. She informed me should would email the reservations manager and check about the amount due. Despite me saying that I never paid in on the previous voucher. The rooms, nothing nice despite being 'upgraded' we had spilage on the floor only to have wiped it to see how dirty the floor actually was. We ordered food, the toasted sandwich came without basil and the pan fried prawns came without mango salsa instead it looked like old breakfast ingredients put into a bowl. Sunday morning I was called to say 'I didn't see you for breakfast, and I didn't get hold of the manager as soon as I have your amout I'll let you know' Feeling like a second class criminal being reminded about payment. We called the morning to confirm breakfast time they said 11 to be told on my payment reminder call that it's until 10h30. Needless to say despite being told the egg counter would remain open this was closed and when requested was snobbishly told they switched off already this was before 11. Monday the same happened a rant about "I'm still waiting to confirm what you must pay followed by an interagation about where I got the voucher; what was it for; how did I get it followed by 'Its only the second time we got such a voucher" - this is not my problem. The hotel left lots to be desired and yes I work for a big retailer and you want to know why I don't come there 'Why I haven't stayed there because you don't know what customer service is, in fact this is the worst stay I've ever had not to mention the reminder upon leaving that I'll be called to confirm what's outstanding if nothing then 'I apologise' after I was harassed all weekend. As for the call centre I am the reason you have a job. Don't let me call Arabella; Franschoek; Wellington and Durbanville doing your job. Get your house in order; stop harassing your clients. Don't make your problem the clients. Put a smile on your face when doing it. Manipulation can be sensed a mile away making as though you cared about my coming for breakfast.
