This is an good hotel for an city trip. You're a few minutes away from the highlights. The rooms are small but the beds and bathroom are comfortable. The facilities in the hotel are good (like wifi) The breakfast is small.
I had the occasion to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town, city center. Their complimentary Breakfast was the best I have ever seen at an HIE even better than most Crowne Plazas. I was super impressed with the display of chafing dishes. It is in a great location,at St George's Mall. And near some good dinner Houses. Price is reasonable
We stayed here for 5 nights with friends and family while exploring Cape Town. The rooms were quite spacious and modern for an HI Express. Breakfast was more than your usual HI express fare which we all greatly appreciated. The location was a bit of a mixed bag. It's centrally located to museums, restaurants and markets/ shopping centers which makes it ideal. However after 6pm, the area is swarming with homeless people accosting people for change and food. The area generally felt unsafe after dusk. The staff were all amazing. Rehana, one of the front desk associates, absolutely made our trip worthwhile. She seemed to absolutely love her job and genuinely care for her guests. She was informative, friendly and a real pleasure to deal with.
We stayed at the hotel for a night before embarking on a cruise to Venice. Unfortunately, my wife left her handbag in reception but we didn't realize so until we were at sea. The hotel has been marvelous in helping us and has insisted in posting the bag back to U.K without any charges to us. That is company policy, apparently
The holiday inn hotel has a great location, comfortable beds, spacious rooms and clean bathrooms along with fast wifi, which is not common in the other hotels we stayed at during our visit. The breakfast was tasty too.
This is a chain hotel, so we know what we will get. It is also not a full service hotel, but that is part of the expectation. But, it is conveniently located in central Cape Town, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast was more than adequate. Our room had a wonderful view of Table Mountain!
The Holiday inn express reminds you of hotels gone by when the generic was what people looked for. The rooms are simple and clean, the beds very comfortable. Two major disadvantages are the noise levels from the pedestrian street below and the breakfast which is really terrible but there are some nice cafes in the road that the hotel is situated on. The staff are warm and accommodating and the check in and out process was very slick.
I stayed at this hotel with my husband. The room was large and very clean, we had the hotel shuttle from the airport and the staff were very friendly. Great choice of tv channels in english and strong wifi. The walls were thin and noise could be heard from other rooms. The area the hotel is in is fine in the day, with a fabolous market outside. However, after dark it was not safe to walk outside on your own. one of the security monitors outside advised us not to go to Long St after dark. Taxi,s are very cheap to get to the V&A. The restaurant opposite was also a great option.
Well, it is a brand hotel. You know what you get - but compared to those nice lodges and b&b hotels all over ZA, this is really nothing special. Breakfast a bit disappointing, very American. Service was ok, professional but without heart.
We were 17 officials from India on our official visit and stayed two nights at this hotel. After checkout on 1st may, as our return flight was in evening at 6 pm and we had to go and visit remaining spots in Capetown, we requested to keep our luggage at hotel. The hotel team was very helpful and responsive in keeping our luggage at hotel. Then we went to city and enjoyed table top mountain visit and later enjoyed shopping in mostly nearby areas of hotel. In front of hotel itself there is nice street market for shopping at bargain prices. We could also find a nice Indian restaurant namely Bukhara at walking distance from the hotel and enjoyed Indian cuisine. Breakfast at hotel was also nice. Overall a good experience at this hotel. There are nice bars in nearby areas for enjoyment in the night but everyone have to take all safety precautions while visiting in the night. One suggestion for the hotel management that they should install toilet -faucet in the toilet rooms as south Asians do not use toilet paper and only use water for higene purpose. So hotel management should keep both to make it suitable to all its customers. Best
