We stayed here for three nights upon arrival in South Africa. The hotel has its own shuttle service which we used to go to Table Mountain and back to the airport to pick up our rental car. Staff are very friendly and helpful in making reservations or advising you where to go. The area itself we found pretty safe, even in the evening. Rooms were clean and breakfast in the morning was good. The hotel didn't have a restaurant, but there are plenty of places in the neighbourhood to go to. And there's a bar in the hotel if you fancy a drink in the afternoon / evening.
This hotel is certainly one of the best for anyone on business in Cape Town. It is centrally located with most of the places of business interests situated at stone's throw. We booked for 4 nights but unfortunately stayed there for only 1 night as we expected bigger rooms and the hotel room we got was really small with no mini bar. We were not really impressed with the hotel mostly because we were on our honeymoon and were looking for some luxury and privacy.
We really enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn express. Location is central with many restaurants and shops in the area and 2 mins walking from Long Street. Breakfast was very good with lots of options, staff were friendly and rooms were clean. We got all we needed with a good budget. We will be staying here again next time we are in Cape Town
This was the first stop on our two week trip to South Africa and after an exhausting 36 hours of traveling, we were very pleased to arrive here, quickly, from the airport. Very fast check-in, very friendly and helpful staff. We had an adjoin room with our son and we were very pleased with our rooms. Clean, beds very comfortable, breakfast good, and a great location for just going out and walking in the street. Lots of restaurants right nearby and close to many attractions to see, within walking distance. Very safe for walking around in the vicinity.
Nice clean; tidy Express in the City centre . Parking very difficult due to location but we did not need. Rooms ok size. Breakfast ok and good selection except for sausages which really are SA style. We’re used to English bangers.
Rooms 7/10 Room facilities 4/10 Cleaniness 10/10 Security 10/10 Near sightseeing pick up point Breakfast 7/10 Staff 10/10 Tv only 12 channels Wifi fast available Located at a congested area But very cheap n economical
Very good service, courteous staff. Reasonable prices and good value for money.Rooms were always kept clean, and housekeeping staff were very friendly. Good, wide variety of fresh food, and one can easily go to various other restaurants that are within walking distance.
We stayed for 1 night at the end of our trip in South Africa. The positive parts of the hotel is that it was centrally located with parking available for ZAR60 per day. Trust the sat nav when you enter the city, it took us down a pedestrianised road and we thought this was incorrect, but no - the hotel parking is accessed via this. The valet porters were friendly and helpful! Rooms were modern and clean - the breakfast was more than adequate and of good quality. Unfortunately the WiFi was poor - no instructions during check in and we only had 100MB of free WiFi which lasted about half an hour! TV signal was also poor as it was raining outside - there were lots of channels available but we couldn’t watch. Also - no fault of the hotel but our room was on the 4th floor at the front of the building and we were woken early in the morning by street vendors screaming at each other - so bring your earplugs! The bed was also on the small side. For one night, it fit the purpose but if you are after a base in Cape Town for longer, I would urge you to consider other options.
This is a very good hotel if you want to stay in the center of Cape Town. The location couldn't be more central. The reception is on the 1st floor. The room and the bathroom were spacious however there was lack of cupboard and fridge. The staff was helpful. The breakfast very average. There was free wi-fi. You will enjoy the central location and the nice room, however don't expect any luxuries.
Very good value for price. The rooms are small but very well organised. The hotel has good sound insulation and is generally very quiet. The breakfast was amazing; one of the best breakfast spreads I’ve ever seen at a big hotel chain. The wifi was fast and reliable. The streets surrounding the hotel feel safe during the day. The little stands/shops are nice to wander around and give the street a lively feel. The one side-street where you catch Ubers/Cabs had some sketchy people and beggars on occasion, so you need to pay attention, especially at night. All in all, a good place to stay to explore Cape Town.
