This is Cannes! We extended our reservation from 2 nites to 3 to soak up the sun and the sights. Located very close to Le Suquet (3 min walk) with lots of restaurants to choose from and Eglise Notre-Dame d'Esperance (4 min walk) for the best view of the town! The greetings from the front desk were always friendly. Helpful with trying to use the computer - we made our next booking online. The room was just big enough, clean, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was 12 euros each, extra beyond the room charge. Well worth it! The Breakfast room was so cheery in yellows and oranges, with the option of eating outside on their garden patio. Breakfast was a great variety of breads, boil-your-own eggs, and all the normal European options of meat, cheese, fruits. Tea, coffee, chocolate was served personally. The town was amazing - beach walks (yes, some ladies were topless) and the Film Festival auditoriums and even up the hill to the La Croix de Gardes. And yes, it's pronounced (American) CAN.
The hotel is situated at the top of a quite steep hill but the staff are always courteous and helpful. A small but most welcoming pool was nice after the walk up the hill. The air-conditioning in the room was most welcome. It was disappointing that there was neither a fridge or a kettle in the room.
Yes, it is a little dated and the bathrooms are old fashioned but the position is perfect, the owners immensely helpful and you are a hop, skip and jump from the old town (Le Sequet) and a short walk from beaches, and the promenade. The room are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served outside or in the dining room. I wouldn't rate the breakfast very highly as the fruit is tinned and the fruit juice is very processed. Our only whinge is that the wifi is almost non existent! Beside that, one cannot hear traffic noise and the position is fantastic with the price being excellent. We are about to return for the second time.
A very enjoyable short stay in this charming small hotel. Great location, a short easy walk into the old town and the Croisette. Very comfortable characterful room. Highly recommended, would definitely return.
Perfectly located close to the old Cannes, connected with a bridge, at 5 minutes walk from Palais, Casino and port, unfortunateIy I discovered this hotel after 35 years of Midem participation. Friendly staff, rooms clean old french style, small but nice swimming pool and a beautiful garden for relax and breakfast. I warmly recommend for families, too. Wi fi in the room is not so good. Will be back next year.
My firm always books this family run hotel for our trip to the annual Midem conference and it is a pleasure to be back every year. Comfortable rooms, extremely nice and helpful staff and a little pool to relax at. Very recommended.
Nice family run hotel, with close access to the old town where plenty of restaurants are located. Located about 1 km from Parc des Expositions. Rooms are okay but nothing special. Service is very kind. A negative point was the wifi which needed repetitively a password and username from a little thermal printed paper, which was harldy readable.
I've been there for Mapic event and stayed three nights. 5 minutes away from the harbour if you know the shortcut ways. My room was quiet small but has a large terrace with St. Tropez view. Everything is old fashioned except for TV and AC units. No lift, no minibar. However, room and bathroom were cleaned.
Comfortable stay close to the marina and restaurants. Easy to find. We checked in late which was perfect for our arrival. Hard, comfortable beds. The triple room has a bigger double bed than the other rooms and one single bed. Would recommend if you're on a budget. Can't comment on the good sorry. Le grand was a great lunch restaurant close to the hotel.
At night , it was a tricky experience to finally drive into the small parking lot of this charming hotel . But we made it . It was windy and cold , but the great location of the hotel , enabled us to cross the little bridge and walk down the narrow alleys of the old city . We got room # 3 on the ground floor . The room was smallish , with a window opened to a tiny back yard , and a second window in the washroom that we kept partially opened (to let fresh air in) . If you are a light traveller (only hand laggage) - it's o.k. for one night . Next day I was shown into 2 more much nicer rooms : One with a garden view and one with a terrace . These are more expensive . Breakfast was nice : It was raining out side, but inside the beautiful dining room . we were warm and being treated like family . Hotel LÓlivier is a small establishment , owned and run by family Shildknecht . Service is accordingly smiley and welcoming . Mrs. Schildknecht will gladly tell you the interesting history of the hotel . We shall be happy to stay here again once we are back in Cannes (But in one of the bigger rooms) . In short : Great location , parking and nice breakfast . Enjoy your stay !!!
