My husband and I are Silver Unlimited Vacation VIP members. We love to visit Mexico and use all of the benefits our membership offers :) This however was our first visit to a Zoetry resort and Isla Majeres. This resort is small and peaceful. If you are looking for a place to unplug and RELAX this is it. I feel I need to give a very special thank you to a few folks that gave us EXCELLENT service during our stay: Melina in VIP Services - Melina is the BEST! Without her we would have been lost. She explained the island to us and made sure that everything at the resort was PERFECT for us. She was there whenever we needed anything :) Berenice (I hope I spelled that right) in VIP Services - When Melina was not available Berenice was there to help us with anything :) Both Melina and Berenice went above and beyond to help us and insure that our stay at Zoetry was top notch. Dennis, our server at Casa Rolandi - Dennis was our server for the majority of our meals at Casa Rolando. He was always so knowledgeable about the menu and happy to help us with any modifications that we requested :) Kevin, front desk - Kevin was awesome! He was a wealth of knowledge about the island and the attractions that the island offered. The consummate professional his English was very good and made it easy for us to ask questions and have things explained :) About the resort: My husband and I had a wonderful time and plan on returning next year. However there are some things you should know before you decide to visit Zoetry on Isla Mujeres. This is a SMALL resort - only 35 rooms. There are only two restaurants and although the food is excellent and the alcohol top shelf, you will not find a wide variety of selection. Casa Rolandi is the Italian restaurant that has a good menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you have visited an "all-inclusive" resort before and are expecting the buffet type breakfast and lunch, you will not find that here. It is sit down service in both restaurants. Le Metissage is the other restaurant choice on the resort. This is a bit higher end and has a set 7 course menu that changes nightly. When I say a set menu, I mean you sit and they serve (i.e. there is no choice of beef or fish or chicken, etc.) The food was excellent and a bit adventurous at times. Also worth noting, that the restaurants on the resort are open to the public. However they do take care of their guests first and we were always given the best seat in the house when we arrived (and there was NEVER a wait) There are 3 1/2 pools. Three of the pools are lined up in a row and are about 15' - 20' apart (like I said, it's a small resort). The larger of the pools is about the size of a large private in ground pool, the second is a salt water pool that is about the size of a very large in ground Jacuzzi, and the third is about the size of an average private in ground pool. There is a small semi-circular pool down on the beach which is about the size of an average in ground Jacuzzi. There are no rafts or floats (unless someone happens to bring one). Drinks and food are also served pool side and down at the beach. When you stay at Zoetry Isla Mujeres you need to take in the whole package, including the island itself. I would strongly suggest renting a golf cart to get around. The cost for a golf cart rental for a day - from 9AM - 5PM was $70 USD. To rent the cart for 24 hours was $90 USD - I would recommend renting for 24 hours, it's worth it. The resort makes it very easy to do so. They will call a taxi for you to take you into town to rent the golf cart (taxi cost is $8 - $10 USD). Then when you are done, you leave the cart at the resort and they return it for you, easy-peasy :) So, I told you about the pools and the restaurants, here are a few other things you should know: There is no outdoor bar or swimup bar. This is NOT a party atmosphere at all. It is relaxed and QUIET compared to most resorts. There are no DJ's, no dancing, and no organized activities at the pool (although I think they did have morning yoga and a pool workout). There is a small but nice (and not overly crowded) gym that you can use. We never had an issue getting a lounge by the pool and there were always plenty of fresh towels. In the evening they will sometimes have a simple guitarist or saxophone player in one of the restaurants. If you want excitement you need to venture off of the resort (so bring extra $$$). The Ice Bar is a must see in my opinion and it's only about a 10 minute walk from the resort. The Dolphin Experience (where you can swim with Dolphins) is also within walking distance :) Our room was wonderful and the housekeeping service excellent. We stayed in room 105 which I think was the best of all rooms. We like being on the main floor where we can just walk out and be at the pool. Our room was located above the spa and at the end of the infinity salt water pool, so if we sat on our veranda or in the morning we could hear (it wasn't loud) the soft and soothing music from the spa and the water from the infinity pool (it was like having a spa / water feature right in my room!) Soooooo relaxing. The spa was great - I had the seaweed wrap and was not disappointed. Again, it's small and will be different from your expectations if you are accustomed to the larger spas at other resorts. The only bar on the resort other than the restaurants is a small bar just off the lobby. The service was very good and the selection of top shelf alcohol was excellent (however if you want something REALLY special it will cost you extra). Come prepared. There is no convenience / gift shop type place at the resort. The "gift shop" that they have is a jewelry store. For anything else you will need to venture into town. So this may be a bit different than some resorts you have visited in the past, but the location, the service and the tranquil atmosphere is worth the visit if that is what you are looking for. OH! One last important item to mention: THIS IS NOT AN ADULT ONLY RESORT. There were two...or three families there during our visit that had younger elementary school age kids. Although the children were VERY well behaved, there was one afternoon where they were screaming and playing in the pools. This really is not a good resort for kids (my kids would have been bored out of their minds!) and the guests tend to be a bit resentful of them - it's not an inexpensive resort and with such a focus on tranquility...it's just not a good fit for kids.
When we vacation we want quiet, tranquil and away from it all. This place served our desires well. We preferred to eat a lot from the pool menu...fish tacos are to die for and Juan Carlos and Juarez were wonderful. The Cozy Bar is just that but Hilario was so kind...he would see us coming and have our favorite drinks ready. We met some amazing guests and just had a wonderful, luxurious experience. It was exactly what we wanted for our get-away/anniversary celebration. The staff is superb...the accommodations beautiful and clean. Well done!
My wife and I love to travel together. We have kids at home and don't need a lot of excitement and entertainment when we find a place. This was it. Quiet, no activities unless you want them, and great attention to detail from the staff. We have booked our next trip already.
My husband and I went to this resort for our honeymoon and had high expectations based on the substantial cost, and their slick web site, but when all is said and done, we felt Zoetry fell short of its promises in every way. The resort itself feels old and outdated, it is definitely not 5 star, one of the 3 pools was broken all week, there were numerous items always unavailable on their restaurant menus, and for us being foodies this was upsetting to see some of favorite foods crossed out on their menu... , their private transfer is not easily found at the dock causing confusion getting there, The beach is riddled with seaweed ( who wants to get in sea weed ridden water?) their resort coupons are mis -leading, you don't get a $200.00 credit at the resort it's just smaller increments of discount coupons to try to get you to buy more services that are not top notch. Overall there is nothing to do here in spite of the list of attractions and activities when it came down to it most were unavailable for one reason or another, and the endless privileges don't seem to begin. We ended up leaving early we were so disappointed.
Should have written this review sooner, we stayed in April, but it truly was the ultimate all inclusive experience. The staff was amazing in every way. A good testament to this is that my girlfriend has talked me into going again this year for our second trip. I prefer to see new places but this one was worth repeating.
Imagine a yacht waiting for you with champagne. Once aboard the yacht you travel across the blue water to your paradise. Two first class restaurants, private beach and gorgeous suites await.Villa Rolando is a quiet, elegant and exclusive retreat. I loved Villa and will return every year. A big thank you to Alejandro and Ivan....the best evet!
One of the most beautiful, relaxing , amazing places I have ever been . Loved it can't wait to return hopefully for my wedding !! The whole team make you feel at home the minute you step on to your private yacht that takes you to there island of dreams , in fact there hello is 'welcome home' and that's exactly how it feels.
This is a very special place with an amazing staff and amenities. The food spectacular, the staff kind and always just a step away. If you are looking to totally unwind and enjoy the sea and comeback refreshed, relaxed and rested this is the place to go hands down my favorite resort
My wife and I found the Zoetry Villa Rollandi to fall short in so many ways that we ended up leaving 2 days early. Overall, this is not a resort I could recommend to any friend who wants a luxury honeymoon experience... Reasons I will list here: First the room: yes it was spacious, and a nice design, but a bit outdated, the double 6 shower heads did not work as promised. The balcony was large with jacuzzi, but located next to the kitchen exhaust so sitting in our jacuzzi was unpleasant with the constant smell of food so we chose not to use our balcony or jacuzzi. Dining was not at all what we imagined being foodies it was a great let down: there were three options for dining. 1. Casa Rolandi: Open 7 days a week- We ended up being forced to dine here almost every meal, and the menu is identical for lunch and dinner, however, many many items were unavailable at every sitting. For the amount of money we paid, it was upsetting and frustrating that what we wanted to order was crossed off the menu. We tasted freezer burn in the food. Breakfast menu very lackluster 2. La Metissage: Was closed for dinner for 2 of the 4 days we were staying there. Funny how these resorts close the fine dining restaurants half the time. The 3rd day they were open was mostly only seafood, not good for those who are allergic to seafood or had it the 2 days prior. 3. Room Service: Was the same menu of Casa Rolandi but limited to just a few items. Many items again were not available when requested. What was truly disappointing is that we are in Mexico, love Mexican food, and there were barely any Mexican food dishes or restaurants at Zoetry. Ambiance & Activities: The overall ambiance felt as if it was a retirement community. Every guest seemed to be retired, and the hotel was less than 50% occupied. This was more of a hotel with a beach than it was a resort. Should I mention that the beach was riddled with thick green seaweed? Yes I know it's a problem down there but most luxury hotels are taking the seaweed away with machines designed to rake it away, my bride would not step in the water. She absolutely hated the seaweed . Other disappointments of what is listed on their web site as included that are not accurate or available: 12:00 P.M Massage demonstration that was promised did not happen 3:00 P.M Wine Tasting was “Which wine do you want to try?” No explanation of what or how to taste or enjoy the wine. No build up or finesse about wine whatsoever. 6:00 P.M Silver Creations: This was one guy flattening silver and then cutting it without describing what he was doing. It’s a silent sit and watch 7:30 P.M Live Music: This is one guy playing a guitar that you can fall asleep to. As for water sports, . Paddle board and kayaks were available but had a closed in area that was too confining and small. At no Point did we feel like we were getting the honeymoon treatment we expected for the price we paid. • 2 Gourmet Restaurants & 2 Bars : 1 Restaurant open for dinner only other open for all. 1 Bar is open all day but difficult to get to other opens at 5 Pm. • Outdoor Saltwater Jacuzzi (Thalasso Pool) : Broken • Water Sports: Kayaking & Paddle Boarding: limited area allowed not worth it • Bike Tours around Isla Mujeres : Bike tour was a 20 minute tour that's it. • Wine Tasting & Afternoon Teas: Afternoon teas was not available when we' were there, and wine tasting was not what you would expect Kimberly Art & Gem Gallery: Not present • Spanish, Culinary Cocktail Making and Stretching Classes : Not Available • Meditation & Yoga Lessons: geared towards 50+ • One free 20 Minute Massage and One 25 Minute Thalasso Experience per guest: Schedule fully booked • Romantic Sunset Yacht Ride (2x a week) : Was not available during our visit We feel like we need another honeymoon to replace what we missed out on, a honeymoon in a once in a lifetime experience and this was a great disappointment to say the least.
My husband and I were only able to spend a few days at the Zoetry Villa Rolandi, but everything was pretty much perfect the entire time! Upon arrival to Cancun, we were shuttled by car over to the dock where our boat transfer whisked us over the amazingly post-card blue waters to the Villa Rolandi's dock. The hotel staff met us at the pier and personally walked us into the beautiful open-air lobby where we sat down, were offered a drink, and checked us into our room all while thoroughly explaining the hotel layout and amenities. Then they walked us to our room which was breathtaking (EVERY room has an ocean view) and they showed us all of the room's features. There was one little hiccup where one of our sinks was leaking, but once they were notified it was fixed immediately and we had no other issues. The staff at the hotel was absolutely top-notch. Every need, want and request was catered to in the most efficient, sincere & generous manner. Kevin, Christopher & Berenice in the lobby area handled all of our island inquiries and any general questions with a delightful disposition that invoked nothing but a lighthearted atmosphere and a reflected a genuine service of wanting to help us. We also indulged ourselves with plenty of amazing food at one the hotel's restaurants Casa Rolandi. Here we met the restaurant manager Jesus Ponce --> this man made our trip EXTRA special......EVERY day he remembered our names, our room #, what we liked to drink and eat. He went ABOVE & BEYOND to make our trip a 10+ stay. Even when he would see us outside of the restaurant he would make sure that we were not in need of anything. His displayed a true dedication to his job and he exuded a positive demeanor and love for the job. The island also has plenty of shopping and exploring you can do. The hotel staff assisted us with renting a golf cart during our stay and we spent our days touring the entire island. There are many other things you can do on the island, but we specifically went to the Dolphin Discovery center next door to Villa Rolandi and we spent one afternoon swimming with a dolphin. This was an awe-inspiring event and well worth the adventure! We would unquestionably recommend this hotel & location if you are looking for a quiet and stunningly beautiful get-a-way!
