We truly enjoyed the intimate feel of this resort - the food was excellent and definitely the reason we rated the hotel as 5-star. They provide a bottle of champagne every day and there isn't a bad view in the entire place.
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing trip at Zoetry Isla Mujeres. Oceanfront views, great view of Cancun skyline at night. 3 pools plus private beach. The food and service were excellent. Christian checked us in and explained everything, made sure our pickup and departure were arranged timely on their private yacht to embarcadero in Cancun. Juan Carlos never let us wait for drinks or snacks by the pool. Hilario and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Best massage yet! We rented a golf cart for Day to explore island. One day is all you need as its small. Hotel arranged snorkeling one day and the fish were amazing! Playa Norte was crowded and we preferred to stay at Zoetry for most of our stay. Would love to return in September when whale sharks are there to swim with them!
I have been to this location twice and find it to be the most serene, calming place in Mexico. The staff is outstanding and the amenities are abundant. The pool staff is quick and attentive -- Thank you to Juan Carlos, Juarez, and Alejandro for making the days special with your service and special drinks! If you're looking for a quiet getaway with excellent food, comfortable rooms, and outstanding service, Zoetry Villa Rolandi is for you.
Its taken me a few weeks to write this review.. and I regret taking so long (due to work load being so much) The hotel and the staff were extremely excellent (Not one was unhelpful! in fact I went to the bar in the restuarant to get a beer and was waiting to be served and a gentleman who was dressed quite nicely asked me what i wanted.. I told him and he ordered it for me! I turned to thank him and his name tag said GENERAL MANAGER.. I froze! I have been to many nice hotels and not one would give service like that!) . Nothing was too much for them to handle (even when we had a few non hotel caused problems they were more then happy to help us out!) I keep talking non stop about this trip... and can't wait to go back! Heres a few tips for you if you are coming to this wonderous Island and hotel! 1: Tip well and as often as possible... the service is always stellar! So much so that I couldnt name a favorite person there! its well deserved! 2: Bring Mosquito repellant and good factor sun cream... or you may end up like me (my own fault) looking like a burnt lobster. 3: Rent a golf cart from the hotel.. best fun ive had in a long time! 4: Prepare to do alot of nothing and be relaxed! 5: The food is out of this world... I Can be a bit picky sometimes but i loved everything I tried! 6: Get a massage.. In 5 minutes they had to wake me up after one of the ones i had. All in all the trip is long (Coming from London was 11 hours) but well worth the time and money spent and cant wait to go there again!
Not a place I would recommend but here are some upsides and downside for you to decide. Up-Sides: 1. The food was pretty good for an all-inclusive hotel. 2. It was relatively clean. Do ask though for them to change the water in your room's jacuzzi in front of you, so that you see it. We arrived by night and I asked if the water was changed. I was told that it was. I'm glad we didn't use it that night! In the morning I could see all of the sand on the bottom of the jacuzzi. It was obviously from the previous guests. 3. The boat trip to the island was nice. Down-Sides: 1. BEACH - just bad! I have never seen water so murky in the Caribbean. It is probably because the hotel is between two snorkeling sights, so all boats with tourists that come from Cancun pass in front of the hotel. It's like a boat highway. Also because of that you have some 300 square feet of area to swim. They don't allow you to swim further, which is also not safe with all of the boats passing by. 2. Very loud. The entrance doors have a considerable space between the frame and the door itself, so you can hear EVERYTHING that is happening outside. And outside is a busy road with motorbikes and gold carts not stopping until late evening. 3. The staff is not trained to work in a 5star hotel. (discuss tips given by other customers in front of other guests; one morning one of the waiters was trying to sell us a snorkeling trip with some friend of his from Cancun). 3. Super cheap bad wine. If you want something "drinkable" you'll have to buy a bottle. 4. Most ridiculous of all however is that their housekeeping switches the Bulgari toiletries. And when I called the front desk to inform them, the reaction was so cool, I was just told that they will bring me the "good ones" right away. Crazy! 5. They are renovating, and the first morning woke us up at 9am! I understand work must be done, but starting at 9AM? 6. Rooms are really small. You have to keep everything in great order not to have the feeling that the room is one huge mess. 7. Bathroom tiny! Not enough space to set your toiletries on the countertop. And to get to the toilet seat you have to open the door, get in, and then close it; when the door is open the toilet seat is right behind the door. 8. The couch, white, was full of mold. Black mold. I don't think that's very good for one's health. 1. The food was pretty good for an all-inclusive hotel. 2. It was relatively clean. From the moment the Yacht picks you up at the pier you are immersed in luxury. This small 35 room all inclusive resort is one of the best. Each and every employee was exceptional. The food was delicious. The rooms and resort itself spectacular and clean. Only 15 minute golf cart ride to the center of town was perfect. We can't wait to go back.
My husband and I escaped for a long weekend (Thursday - Sunday) and discovered a relaxing and luxurious hideaway on Isla Mujeres - Villa Rolandi! We had read about the level of service at Zoetry properties, but even still we were surprised by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Literally every staff member we encountered was smiling, open, asking after our needs and delighting in making sure we were perfectly content. The pools were beautiful and the pool drink service was fast. The beach is small but beautiful and kept raked and clean at all times. With such a small number of rooms, we were able to get to know other guests and the staff got to know us very quickly by name. If you are looking for an incredibly relaxing, pampered get away, you will be not be disappointed. The staff in the restaurants was fantastic (Jose, Juan, Ivan... EVERYONE!) and the food was the best we have experienced in an all-inclusive setting. (tip: in the casual restaurant, do not miss the Caprese Salad, the hand-made wild mushroom ravioli, the fresh fish selections - AMAZING!). The front desk service was exceptional (thank you, Cristian and team for always being willing to assist in anything we needed!) and our room was large and comfortable with excellent amenities. While there, rent a golf course and explore the island. Rent from the hotel. Even though it is slightly more expensive than the Trip Advisor rates you see renting at Playa Norte, the convenience is definitely worth it. And if it is a busy day on the island, walking in at the rental place may mean they do not have a cart for you. It appears they work closely with the hotels to meet their guest needs, so this is the best way to be sure you have one when you want it. The island is small but has a lot of character and much to see. Drivers are respectful of all traffic, with even taxi drivers exhibiting patience, which was amazing and made us feel very safe. If you only have a long weekend, you can definitely find the relaxation you seek here at Villa Rolandi. This is a luxury escape feeling, not a party-type atmosphere. We will definitely return. ONE WARNING: To use your private hot tub, turn it on early in the day to get warm. We didn't know they get turned off every night and then have to heat back up. We had a cold hot tub, which was very disappointing.
Firstly let me say that this hotel is lovely and if you're already booked to go I'm positive you will enjoy yourselves as even though we had a few negatives we still had a great honeymoon. Largely thanks to the incredible level of service we received around the pool/beach at meal time. 1. Ponce, Alejandro, Juan Carlos, Hilario, Christopher, Jesus and many more made this hotel a dream destination! Credit to them for their constant smiles and faultless service. 2. Breakfast - options if you don't like eggs or pastries is rather limited but im sure they'd be able to make you something else if you asked! 3. Lunch - ask for fajitas -they're not on any menu that we could see but they're amazing either chicken beef or fish very tasty! Also the lettuce tacos with chicken ceaser were amazing. Can have any menu in casa rolandi but poolside menu by the pool-can also have fajitas at the pool. Ps 24 hr room service is free! 4. Drinks - they free pour so watch out. In that heat with those measures it's easy to get a bit worse for wear so specify if you'd like a little or a lot of alcohol. I would highly recommend Ron Punch Mojito Screwdriver and if you'd like a particular brand of alcohol specify at the start I.e. My husband prefers belvedere so asked for this with orange on our 2nd day and from then on everyone knew he drank screwdriver with belvedere! Even though he was drinking other cocktails too! No idea how they remember those little details but it really is what made th holiday great. 5. Le Metissage - I'm glad we did this although It was up n down for us. 1st time we liked some courses and not others 2nd time we were euphoric at the food it was sensational and 3rd time we didn't like 5 out of 7 courses. So hit and miss. I will say that all food was cooked well and we made the choice to try all courses even if we were unsure but if you really don't want to or are allergic then they have alternative options for you so do ask. 6. Customer service - needs a lot of work! I appreciate we may be an isolated case but forcing 2 people on their honeymoon to contact their travel provider to try and prove that a bill has been paid instead of doing this themselves when it is something that should have been sorted out between the travel provider and the hotel is unacceptable! We were literally pestered every morning and afternoon for 4 out of 7 days of our visit about this bill which we repeatedly told them we had paid but they refused to believe us or check for themselves and even when we managed to get a confirmation email confirming payment by our travel provider they still didn't believe us and wanted us to pay again! Not good villa rolandi! 7. Lastly the rooms need some time and money in our opinion. They were lovely but just not up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel which is obviously the main focus. Little things like rusty plugs and a steam shower that didn't steam as this function was broken. Tiny wardrobe! But then there is a free laundry service which is excellent. Small holes in the wall where something obviously used to be attached. The aircon was very dated and loud but worked and would rather have a loud cool room than a hot quiet one. Also the yacht is very nice and the guys who work on it fantastic. I get travel sick and they were lovely even though I was so gross! Also the hotel is undergoing construction in several rooms stairwells and some decking areas. Not as bad as you'd think buy still something to be aware of. Spa has extortionate pricing Ie. In England at top spas you'd pay maybe £65-£70 for a 55 min massage on average but at villa rolandi they try to charge over $200 all I'd say is its worth a haggle! Golf buggies are much cheaper if you get one downtown but then you will need to take it back yourself when you're finished so your choice. Try fish fritenga if you go to the hotel zone in cancun and plaza la isla best burritos we ever had!
I stayed here at the end of a trip to Cancun. I loved it! At just over 30 rooms, this resort is intimate, personal, and the antithesis of the mega resorts in Cancun. On my next trip, I will stay here and visit Cancun on a day trip, if I even go over there. There's plenty of nightlife a short taxi ride away in the charming and friendly downtown area. At Zoetry, the food is exceptional, the service is phenomenal, and I found the rooms to be much more attractive and comfortable than the pictures had indicated. I have traveled all over the Caribbean and Mexico and as a result I have a handful of favorite places. This is now one of them. As for the staff, I had a personal issue that I needed assistance with dealing with a problem unrelated to the hotel. I have never experienced the level of attention and concern shown by Karen Nunez, who works in the office at Zoetry. For 2 days she was there to assist me as if I was the only thing on her agenda. Staff like Karen, plus the location, food, service, and comfort of Zoetry Villa Rolandi, means I will be back soon for another visit. There are very few places where all the pieces of a perfect trip come together for me like this.
We are hooked when the catamaran picked us up in Cancun. What a wonderful way to start a trip. We love to stay at 5-star resorts and have to say we were a little worried about the resort. The images on the website simply do not capture the incredible place this is. It's simply gorgeous. Then the staff comes into play--and they are truly are good as we have ever had--anywhere in the world. Thanks to Manager Marco and his fabulous staff--special shout-outs to Jesus, Ponce, Jonathan, Christian and Dennis. You made our stay so much better. If this was not enough, the food is worth the trip alone. We never left the resort as we had so many items we had to try. Top cuisine to say the least. AND our hot tub worked :) But why sit on your balcony when they have a salt-water hot therapy pool that overlooks the water? I truly recommend this amazing resort.
