The staff especially the two main guys in the lobby (I apologize I forget their names) they were pretty nice and always willing to help. This was such a cute hotel I would have liked to rate it higher, but the only concerns or issues we had were the showers and how the water pressure or shower flow was not even close to decent. It felt like it only trickled when we showered and had to remain in the shower for a long time to get a thorough wash. The toilet was also a little nuisance. You're not allowed to flush toilets papers period and had to dispose in the garbage. I am very relieved that we had daily housekeeping. One last thing we noted was that the rooms were not thouroughly cleaned prior to check in . I placed my purse on top of one of the table and noticed drink stains on the table and it was sticky. I waited to see if housekeeping would clean it the next day and they never cleaned it. My overall experience on this hotel was average. I wish they would fix the water pressure issue and do a thorough room cleaning daily.
This is an amazing hotel! Only 12 rooms and close to great bars and beaches. This hotel is literally a stone throw away from its own little piece of beach front where you can hear the waves crash on the rocks. We slept on the bed in the balcony and room service was nice enough to lay the sheets pillows and blankets because it was such a beautiful sight to wake up to and chill. Stayed here for 4 nights and I’ll do it again! Staff was great and willing to help when asked. We booked our airport through the hotel and on arrival the helped book a golf cart that was delivered to the hotel. *Great hotel if you’re looking for somewhere intimate and not looking to deal with the usual resort style hotel crowds*
Hotel Secreto is absolutely brilliant! We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, in an ocean view room on the ground floor. The room was huge, spotless and effectively air conditioned. Not only this, but the view from the room is absolutely stunning (see photo). They also provide TV with American channels in English. The staff are incredibly accommodating, many of whom speak great English. Special mention to Victor, who brought drinks to the poolside and also would arrange deliveries for lunch from external restaurants of our choice (although he is willing to make recommendations also). The hotel is in a great location, with a lovely private beach, infinity pool looking over the ocean and a few minutes from the main strip where all of the restaurants and bars are located. Breakfast is brought to your balcony when you’re awake, starting the day off eating fruit and toast and drinking coffee while looking out over the ocean. I cannot recommend Hotel Secreto highly enough and encourage anyone tempted to visit Isla Mujeres to come here. Thank you to everyone who made out visit so special!
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Secreto. The location is within walking distance of popular bars and the beach. The hotel was very quiet. The staff and service were impeccable. Victor treated us like family! We will definitely be returning in the future!
Many pluses to the hotel including the quiet location yet close (walking distance) to Playa Norte, Hildalgo street with all the shopping and dining. It' s a small boutique with large rooms, large private patios nice pool and views with access to small secluded beach cove. The only suggestions might be to pay a little more attention to details in the area of maintenance of the rooms and public areas.
The hotel was beautiful but the staff made it the best relaxation vacation ever. Victor and Omar are the greatest!!! They new what we wanted before we even new we wanted it. Quiet relaxation started the day with a wonderful continental breakfast and the best is that they would deliver it to us wherever we would like: room, beach, pool. We never wanted for a thing, Victor was always ready and willing to bring us a drink or a bite to eat. They do not have a restaurant at the hotel so they actually will go and get the food from whatever restaurant has the best food for what you are desiring and bring it to you. If you like Boutique hotels this is definitely the place to stay on Isla Mujeres.
Secreto is a great place to stay in ISLA. It is on the Caribbean side on the water and a five minute walk to Hidalgo and all the restaurants. Very quiet, well kept, great service from a very friendly personable staff. Room was great with a very comfortable bed and ok bathroom. Each room has a refrigerator and safe. They have a great continental free bfast delivered to your room daily per your request. Pool was cool when we were there but pool view is great. There is a small beach you can also access. The fishing dock was about a 15 minute walk. One thing to note, when you make your reservation, there is 100% required, paid up front and NOT cancelable......I was 9 weeks post op from a knee replacement so this was a bit worrisome until I got there:) definitely stay there again!!!!!!!!!More
Rooms were comfortable as was the bed. The mattress on the deck is very nice to nap on in the afternoon. Only 12 rooms so the pool was never crowded. The hotel staff is very friendly and have good suggestions for restaurants.
We recently stayed at Hotel Secreto in Isla Muyeres. Beautiful place to stay. The hotel is a boutique hotel with only 12 rooms. The rooms are large and comfortable with a large deck that has aday bed and a table with two chairs. We spent as much time out there as possible. The view was amazing. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I can't say enough about the great service. If you are staying in Isla, and aren't looking for a busy night life, this is the place to stay. They are over block from all the restaurants and shops but feel like they a miles away from the action once you enter the hotel.
As befitting the name, this wonderful place has the very feel of being a secret gem. It is the definition of boutique - with only 12 rooms and a wonderful, homey ambiance. We stayed for five great nights and, after touring the entire island, felt like we hit the jackpot. The discrete hotel (which doesn’t even have its name on the outside) is mere minutes from the hustle and bustle of El Centro, but tucked away on a gorgeous, quiet cove shared only by one other small hotel. Although there is no swimming allowed here (the currents are strong on the east side of the island), the beach is all about fine, white sand. We loved the included continental breakfast, served daily on our private veranda, the constant breeze, and daily dips in the pool. The staff was super friendly, patient with our elementary Spanish but very capable in English, and helpful with great tips about local happenings. The hotel has a nice (but underutilized) gym, a well regarded modest spa, and an upscale clothing/gift shop. Our room had a very comfy King-sized bed and an equally comfortable pull-out Queen-sized couch (only two of us on this trip, but there was plenty of room for four in our room). We loved being a three-minute walk from all the restaurants and Playa Norte - but having the feeling of staying in an isolated and peaceful little nook. It was also a nice discovery to be just a couple of hundred yards from the seaside walkway that runs along the coast south for about a mile - perfect for sunrise runs and sunset walks! We’ll be back to Hotel Secreto. But shhhhh! Don’t tell anyone about this place.
