I stayed here for one night with my daughter and was pleasantly surprised. Location is great as it is in a quiet neighbourhood close to shops. The bistro did great meals and all staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean although we did have a family room. Our heater did not work so well but apart from that, everything was fine and would go back again.
Deeply hurt & Disgusted - treatment by Evening receptionist Upon arriving I was greeted by Ashley a warm & genuine down to earth human. Our room clean, tidy & perfect for our stay. Five stars We decided to go out for the night for dinner & a movie. Arriving back to motel after a great night, there was no parking on site. I drove back to reception area & parked in the allocated area with family still in the car & motor running. As I got out of the car, this lady came out & said "you can not park there!". She did not ask good evening sir how can I help. I quickly pointed out I am coming to ask you where can I park. Ellen said "well I have had people try to park there tonight!". I proceeded to tell her how disgusted I am of her quick presumption I am about to park there for the night. I saw a parking spot near reception accept there was 2 large flower pots occupying that spot. After asking Ellen where to park she said "the street". I think Ellen was enjoying being a "grey bomber = parking officer". Yes I was angry & I do apologise. I did park my car outside on the lawn. Returning to my room an Elderly couple drove in looking for a parking spot. Guess they had to park outside as well. Our hearts go out to Ashley Bravo! Thumbs down to Ellen, go get a job as a parking officer.
I have stayed here whilst travelling on business to Canberra. Its in a quiet location and is away from the city and associated noise etc. Getting a reasonable meal wasn't a problem as Dickson is located close by and has an excellent selection of restaurants. The rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable.
Usual motel room. Quite tidy and comfortable. Upstairs could be difficult for older folks or carting suitcases. Some of the linen was wearing out with threads hanging off but still useable. Plug did not stay down in the basin and the fridge freezer did not freeze anything! Bed comfortable. Overall good.
This is a very friendly motel in the heart of Canberra. The rooms are more than adequate and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast caters for all tastes. I had a ground floor room which meant I could park my car outside the room to unload.
This motel is down a quiet street near to Dickson in Canberra. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean but dated. I had food from the restaurant which was pretty good for what is was. I could see the hotel's rubbish bins out of my window which had old mattresses stacked up next to them. Not a good sight. My main issue was with the curtains in the room. There was a outside light fixed to the wall right next to the windows of my room. This remained on all night. The blackout curtains weren't wide enough, so no matter how I drew them there was light coming through at both ends and in the middle. When I mentioned this to the receptionist in the morning she said "yes, we must get those curtains fixed" - so the hotel is aware of the problem, but not addressing it. Also in the middle of the night the toilet cistern decided to refill itself every 30 minutes or so. Plus there were other guests who left very noisily (chatting in loud voices) at about 430 or 5am - I assume to catch an early flight out of Canberra. All in all very unsatisfactory. I was staying in the middle of the week and paid an extremely high price for the worst nights sleep in memory. I will not be going back.
Very quiet, handy to shopping centre and lots of eateries. Bistro was empty and pasta ordinary. Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Was there two nights, room was clean, but ensuite a bit squeezy, a very large person would have trouble in it. Parking was free and plenty of.
We just got back today from a 3 night stay. This place is quiet and has the most prettiest tall trees. I loved how in the morning, the fog set in and it was really pretty. We stayed in a queen bed room and it was neat, tidy and the bed was really comfortable. We had issues with not being able to get the free movies and foxtel however, i only queried it on the last night and reception was more than willing to sort it out quickly. I also struggled to get a good temp with the shower but i say this with a little humour because i have just spent the last 4 months in a city where its been so warm ive not needed to touch the hot water shower tap. The reception ladies were lovely and helpful and we met the room cleaner (the other one was upstairs) and she was equally lovely leaving our room really clean and bed well made. There is a restaurant however we didnt go to it. The soaps they leave are made from a company called "Soak" and i have to say were really nice to use. I have sensitive skin and loved them. I think if your looking for quiet, low/mid budget to look at this place. I will be back. :)
This motel is fairly new, clean and good value. Rooms are of average size but fine for a couple. Good wifi and a small restaurant. It is fairly close (short car trip, medium 10 minute walk) to the Dickson shopping area which has really developed in recent years. There you will find a wide range of restaurants, supermarket and other shops. You need a car to get around as you do for Canberra in general; one with a good GPS!
Family road trip to Coffs Harbour, stayed overnight purely to rest and revive. Rooms were ok, staff was pleasant. Breakfast was below average, would recommend eating breakfast elsewhere. Overall nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave about.
