Pavilion on Northbourne

Sadly, having stayed previously with no issues, there is a team line being built outside which the hotel didn't notify anyone about and it goes ALL NIGHT. Massive digging and even with ear plugs and pillow over my head we couldn't sleep Changed rooms at 11:30pm and a few others were doing the same, obviously very frustrated and upset Essentially don't even think about this hotel for 18 months whilst this construction is going on

This is the first time I have stayed in the Pavillion, normally work books the Aria which is connected to this place but alas it was booked out. I had a big few days on the road with the boss and was looking forward at the end of each day to crash somewhere comfortable. Bit shocked to read that this place is rated 4 and a half stars. It's not. The Elton was ok, the beds were nice and comfy the tv was broken and the shower rails in the bath room were rusty...... As for the rest of the facilities they were very average. Lethe gym would not look out of place in a prison. Poorly equipped and the aircon unit was from the 60's. What really dropped the ball for me was the general service around the bar area. While I am typing this I have been waiting 30mins for fried eggs which you need to order separately which I did cause the scrambled eggs were nasty. I am Irish an we as a nation love our hot breakfasts. The breakfast on offer here was up there with the worst tasting hot breakfast I have had in a long time. There feels like there is a lot of staff but they fluff around and don't really acknowledge the customer / guest.

We were given an upgrade to a suite and were blown away by the room and amenities. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night, so were unable to take full advantage of the facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and the atrium outside the door was spectacular (we were in the "round" building. Parking was convenient and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pro's:Good value for money, Friendly Staff, Free parking, A "resort" feel to the property. Con's:Lack of full size mirror, Worst WiFi connectivity (any time of the day/night), Not many options for Room Service (Food), No Mini bar, Small Wardrobe, Water Hammer and Pipe Noise fairly strong.

You’d have to be picky to fault this place for the money. Opened in 1981, it feels it’s age somewhat in the guest rooms - but everything works and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is excellent value for money ($10 for kids for a full buffet). The service staff are excellent. All Those I engaged with were friendly and helpful. I would definitely return.

From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel, the staff (Nick at concierge and the lady behind the bar) have been wonderful and helpful. Our room is spotless and very comfortable. Most amazing, though, is the courtyard - it’s full of plants and trees like its own little jungle! Even the manager is a delight - thanks so much guys!

We have stayed here a few times now. There are plenty of types of Rooms to choose from. We have stayed in a few different ones. Rooms are clean. Staff are very friendly. Room service is available till late. Plenty of parking. Easy to get around Canberra from this central location. The buffet breakfast has plenty on offer.

I stayed here with my wife while staying in Canberra. There was ample parking was ample parking when arriving but with the road works on the Northbourne you had to do a u turn to get on the south side of the road to enter the Hotel. I didnt find the rooms too bad. They were not too old, but not new either. We had a good night's sleep. The check out time of 10 o clock was VERY early. this is the first hotel I have seen that sets them so early. We needed to leave early anyway so it didn't bother us so much but if i was staying longer in Canberra, io would chose a different hotel based just on that. The cost is $20 every hour after that if you want a late checkin.

Stayed for a few nights for business and the room was clean but did smell a bit musty. I was on the Northbourne Ave side but it was quiet and relatively comfortable. The double bed was 2 singles pushed together, and the room did smell a bit musty. On the plus side there is free parking (and plenty of it) and free WiFi (which was slow but good enough for email). Staff were very friendly and if you want to stay inside to eat the restaurant is in the middle of the hotel. It's about 20 mins walk to the city or 5 mins or less by car. The hotel has a shuttle service to go to the city (but I didn't use it).

We stayed in Canberra on our way to Sydney, my husband gave lectures on animal policy. The hotel bar and restaurant were good. Service was prompt and correct, hotel staff were helpful and good listeners. The sports bar was accommodating and played the first day of the ALDS. CBD is a ten minute drive and it’s a young nightlife, Asian fusion food was very good. It was a nice hotel.
