This hotel offered a midweek special which was considerably lower than the normal price. The room was spacious and had a king size bed. Even though the hotel is on the main street the noise level was minimal. Parking is available free of charge.
Heading off to Canberra for 1 night we booked into the Pavilion. The room was on the Northbourne side -but surprisingly quiet. We were looking for a quick dinner before heading out for the night - but it seemed to take an extraordinary amount of time to get to our table. Some parts of the building are starting to show their age and an update is probably needed.
Often overnight in Canberra to see family. Stay always depends on cost and quality. Mix was right this time. Staff friendly but hiccup was room not ready and several calls to housekeeping went unanswered. We had to stand around and wait. Counter staff had to make the trip. Rooms spacious and clean. No problem staying next trip.
Friendly reception staff and very helpful. Room was good. Nice and spacious. Comfortable bed and table and chair. Lightening for reading was poor. Tiny bathroom. Breakfast was great. Parking convenient.
Make sure your payments go through the staff have no idea. I was deducted for the room a month late when i was not expecting it on a day when i needed the money, after staff double charging another customer back when we thought we had paid for the room. The Delux room we booked was not very "delux". And finally having a wife petrified of spiders, this place is riddled with them. I have attached a photo of the spider on the side entrance. Think twice before staying here.
Good and well appointed room. No view as such but well placed to access eateries and othe attractions. Rooms are generally a good size and no demonstrable nose is noticed from othe rooms or the restaurant.
We had a lovely stay here in a well appointed nice room. Room service was quick and very tasty. Super helpful reception staff. Bathroom though compact was clean and tidy. Though we had to pay a one hundred dollar deposit even after we had prepaid for our two night stay after a short discussion with the hotel manager he made sure it was returned to our account as soon as we left. All in all a very pleasant stay for a huge family event.
I do alot of research before choosing hotels. I suspect a lot of people do. Was seduced by the photos of atrium etc. And the price seemed good. Staff were very good, both at reception and in the dining areas. Unfortunately they were let down by the hotel itself. Room was tired and very drab. TV in the bedroom was an old analogue... Are kidding me. TV reception was poor on a number of channels. Remote controls were faulty, couldn't adjust volume, had to keep getting up with torch to adjust on TV itself. Haven't had to that since I was a kid, before there were remotes. Central heating that set to sauna when we entered the room. Checked thermostat, this was as low as it could go. Had to open windows, in Canberra, in winter, not good. Slept that night with windows open. WiFi abysmally slow, disconnected went back to mobile data. Pay per view movies, latest releases at $20 a throw, on crappy TV's, You've got to be joking. Antrim is nice, but tired looking. Ding area was nice, amongst the atrium etc. My wife enjoyed her vegetable lasagne. I ordered the scotch fillet, which was served in a bowl...i don't know why. Scotch fillet, I was expecting a reasonably thick cut piece of steak cooked the way I wanted, well done. What I got looked like a minute steak, little to no flavour, still not well done...did I mention it was served in a bowl, served with dauphin oise potato, that was a little underdone, still hard, a little crunchy. Acoumpany this was broculinni, only 2 small pieces, but the only part of the dish that was cooked just so. Overall I ate it, I was hungry, but disappointed. Oh the garlic bread was good. The parking is also good. Overall we got through the night, wasn't a disaster, but wouldn't stay again.
Conveniently located close to the City. Friendly staff and great facilities. We enjoyed our stay. Clean, tidy and everything we needed. Room service and staff super helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.
My wife and i have stayed here a few times and have always found the hotel to be exactly what we need for a short drive break break from Sydney. on our last visit last week it again lived up to expectations. Points to note are ample free (on the rate we booked) off street parking, easy check-in and out (have been offered room upgrades before but not this time), bar restaurant good enough (eaten there before not this time) and does $10 lunches Monday - Friday, small gym. Rooms always clean but a bit basic. Only negative soap and shampoo in squeeze containers on the wall. Easy drive to get to CBD and when light rail finished there will be a station easy walking distance. Overall not fancy but good value.
