Quick 2 night stay and found the hotel to be comfortable enough but had a very business feel to it. Is very handy to the city centre mall and shopping district. Great choice of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel if you don't feel like eating in. The only let down to my stay was my room was directly adjacent the lifts and the noise of people entering the exiting the lifts at all hours was quite frustrating. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel for a city centre hotel which is well priced.

After another Wall to Wall ride from Melbourne via Merimbula to Canberra it is always a welcome stay at this conveniently located hotel. Good, clean and quiet rooms with good shower. Breakfast is also good quality.

Was pleasantly surprised with the close access to everything needed in a slightly hidden location. Easy to get to from the airport and parking is on site. The rooms were well appointed if a little dated and there were no balcony rooms. The restaurant had a limited menu and the fare was upmarket but they did accomodate for a steak and chips and catered well to my dairy allergy. An A typical Novotel with pleasant staff and clean and today rooms.

Great spot for business. Close to other business related venues. Not too far from sights. Parliament House is a not too long a walk away, as is the Galleries. I found the hotel to be expensive in comparison to other cities. It may be priced this way due to the Government environment there.

Sometime I have to question why we are apart of the Accor Plus advantage group when we visit properties like the Novotel Canberra. I completely understand they are a busy hotel with ongoing business clients and Parliament staff etc but when it's time for a refresh/refurbished or even a spring clean it's time to keep up with 4 star standards that all guess expect. The foyer was nothing exciting/staff friendly. We lucky to have an executive room on level 3 over looking the car park when we questioned the room type under our Accor Plus golden status- we were told this was their BEST room. The room was dated, dirty, rubbish left in the cupboards. Would love to know when the last time to carpet or blinds were washed. The bathroom was old/mouldy. Hall ways of the hotel were dull, dirty, water stained carpet. The only PLUS was the bed was comfortable. The bar and restaurant have been recently updated and was great - nice service, great food/drinks. If only you could continue this through the remaining if the hotel - its in a great spot, walking distance to the restaurants and shops..

I always stay at the Novatel Canberra each time I am in town. The hotel is in a great location, adjacent to the CBD shopping centre and good restaurants. The hotel is well maintained, I always enjoy breakfast in the restaurant while reading a paper. My son enjoys the pool / gym complex on the second floor. A complimentary voucher for two free drinks is always appreciated. My bed was not as comfortable as usual, but I may just have been restless. Cheers....

While the hotel was ok and satisfactory for my needs; the service and attention to detail from the hotel staff was poor. I'm an Accor member and I've never experienced such poor service from any hotel brand in the group like what I experienced in Canberra. Also the hotel pool is not heated as advertised...the water is freezing!! The location is the only thing that I felt was perfect.

We spent two nights at this hotel. Our room was on the seventh floor - the layout was odd as others have said with the basin in the main part of the room and all the electrical outlets around the sink. There is no where in the shower and toilet area to put clothes when showering. The carpet looks old and worn. The reception staff were helpful and checked us in early, although the departure taxi which was booked by reception never showed up. The standard of this hotel is 3-4* and would be acceptable, but not at this cost. We were in Canberra with several other people staying similar places for a lot less money.

So this week im back in Canberra and staying at the Novotel. Checked in late and pleasantly greeted at the check in desk and allocated my room. Room was nice and a decent size with a balcony Mini bar - stock but a bit light on options - but good all the same Restaurant - decent choice but just fancied a burger and chips - ordered and it arrived super fast - however it wasnt cooked and was cold in the middle Sent it back and 30 mins later meal arrived - it was ok but after all its a burger how hard can it be ? Service was good staff pleasant Would i stay here again ? the golden question ....... Yes i would its a nice hotel not fancy not special but for work it was definitely a good option this week

NOt value for money we paid. Really small car space in the car park. Last but not least they charge for parking which is ridiculous. The parking charges were hidden in the hotel rate. they should have mentioned that in the room price. No one travel in public transport. Everyone uses their car. Will not stay in here again and will not recommend to another.
