We spent a weekend here recently for a 'staycation', and were -once again - impressed by the location of this little hotel, given its proximity to Manuka and the markets. Friendly and efficient reception on check-in, and a special welcome from Mrs Cusack the next morning at breakfast made our experience just that much more special. Plenty of parking. Rooms are well-appointed and spacious enough [though ours was, this time, noisy due to loud late-returning guests who kept using the loos outside our room rather than their own! Grrr] Breakfast was fabulous - hearty and plentiful. Always good value and we will be back.
Price gouging hotel! Quoted a price before we got there to have a look ... had a look and the price went up $25 ..when asked why " our prices change by the minute" SERIOUSLY!! We asked for 1 hour late check out $15 two hour late $35 Paid $35 ... the family room was so tiny that we had to walk one at a time. Avoid this hotel .. I seriously don't know how they survive must be the proximity to the parliament
Good accommodation for an overnight stay and visit to the capital of Australia. Good wi-fi. Practical hotel, near the Parliament and other civic attractions. Check in until 10 pm. There is no external movement nearby (restaurants, etc.). Modern city and great distances almost require the use of car.
We made the mistake of taking a special rate for this hotel. "You get what you pay for". The rooms are tired and outdated. They have a restaurant but it is not open Saturday or Sunday nights! Definitely not the place for more than an overnight stay.
Stayed there for a couple of nights ordered food and was brought to the room fast and food was good. Rooms are nice and clean, some have a kitchenette complete with utensils for those wanting to cook easy to prepare meals. Parking is available. Staff are friendly.
Booked 2 rooms for week-end with two other couples , Room a wee bit small, bathroom very tiny, very clean Bed very comfortable ,first night very noisy not much sleep .Booked for 6 in the restaurant mix up with the order only 5 meals arrived. Appologized for mix up offerd a discount or a desert .Meal was delicious .
Last minute booking but could not have picked better if I had spent hours researching different hotels, great check in with great staff. Room very clean smaller than some however for price an location cannot be beat. Shower hot and powerful On a really cold night the electric blanket and heating kept us toasty. Ate at the onsite restaurant great food and staff would happily stay again
This is an ideal hotel for business trip, very reasonably priced. The rooms are always clean and well maintained and the restaurant whilst basic in decor provides a good well cooked range of meals. The staff are friendly and efficient and always welcoming. A regular booking now whenever I'm in Canberra.
Stayed for one night, close to all you need to see. I drove my own car as public transport is not feasible (highly recommend hiring a car when in Canberra) Check in was smooth, room was comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back when visiting next time!
My partner and I spent four nights at Forrest Hotel in Canberra. The room was nice but we didn't spend much time in it except for evenings. The room was quiet, not on the street, and the hotel accommodated our request for a ground floor. The hotel is near Parliament House so it is close to some of the tourist locations. The biggest issue we had was the Wi-Fi was poor and nothing the front office could do would fix it.
