Stayed here for 1 night. Room was comfortable, king size bed was good quality and provided comfortable sleep, we had nice view over the park. The hotel itself is well maintained although dated in terms of its appearance. Bathrooms more than sufficient, though again dated for the calibre of the hotel. Good location next to casino, and a couple of blocks from main shopping centre. It was very hot during our stay and room would have benefited from being cooled before guest arrival though this would not generally be a big issue. (Air con requires room key to activate). Buffet Breakfast was good, with a reasonable amount of choices.
Excellent location. Beside the casio, sjopping centres and restaurants. Rooms were good sized and modern. Gym was huge and modern. Pool was also great except the water wasnt really clear and not heated which was great only in summer. Suana was also a bonus. Customer service was excellent. Room service was also fantastic. Food was great. Had a lamb dish and was cooked to perfection except a bit tasteless but still was great. Car park was slightly tight as i had a huge SUV but was reasonably priced. Beds were double and not queen which was the only downside but were very comfy. Great hotel to stay when you require somewhere central in Canberra.
We stayed twice during Canberra - helpful staff, quiet, convenience of undercover parking at a reasonable rate, comfortable room. Free newspapers in the lobby and free wifi in the room - what more could you want? But there is more - gym and pool. And next door to the Canberra Casino and a short walk to a large shopping mall.
This was our fourth visit here and we didn't think twice about where we would stay when we were planning our trip to Canberra. The location is fantastic, a short walk to the Canberra Centre. Even on New Years Eve, when it was full, it was very quiet. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. We've always stayed on the first floor, this time we asked for one higher up, and honestly I don't think I'd bother next time, it doesn't make a lot of difference. Breakfast was quite busy but the staff were efficient and friendly despite being under pressure to keep people moving through. We love it here and look forward to our next stay.
This is a very modern hotel, perfectly located less than 5-minutes' walk to the city centre. The hotel staff we met were all friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet and spacious, with modern, uncluttered decor, and a decent-sized flatscreen TV. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a fantastic sleep after our New Year celebrations! . (This was helped a lot by the roller 'blackout' blinds - giving total darkness in the room). I would ,however, agree with other slightly negative comments on Trip Advisor about the bathroom decor and fittings. They were a little out of place with the quality, modern look of the rest of the room. We had breakfast included in our stay, and it was excellent! Fantastic choice, high quality, and the barista-made coffees were a real bonus! All in all, we really enjoyed our overnight stay here, and will definitely choose Crowne Plaza for our next visit.
Very nice place to stay, nice rooms and great buffet breakfast, you can walk most place as you are rite in town, but best thing it has a casino contact to the hotel so go and play a few hands of black jack or Paul Gow
The hotel was within walking distance to shopping centre and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was really comfy. The down point I think they need to upgrade their bathroom as it looks old.
The hotel and location were fantastic. Customer service at the front desk was excellent. Rooms were clean. We requested our two rooms to be booked on the same floor, and they were. The hotel is close to shopping, parks and restaurants. The exercise room is amazing. My husband is a crossfit user and he found the gym perfect for his exercise. Pool was great too. Major complaint is the absurd wifi fee. Will stay again.
Ok so my wife and two children booked a MONTH before our stay. When we arrived after a 8hr drive that day, it turned out they double booked our room. We were told that theu would UPGRADE our room.....we had a double suite and we were 'Upgraded' to a SINGLE ROOM! we were told there would be a pull out bed, which was non existent! Then told they would bring a single fold out bed for both our children to sleep on....2hrs of waiting still no bed (10pm by this point) personally went down and asked to which i was told 'oh, very sorry we will attend to that straight away.' STILL WAITING! After making my way to feont desk and again asking for the bed finally a bed was provided Oh and we were told that we could have 35% off for the inconvenience....checked bank account and they charged us the full amount! Asked about it, and i will recieve a refund soon. Sorry but free breakfast aint going to cut it. TBH we stayed at a 3* motel the night before with better service and room. At least they provided complementary water in the fridge! The place seems outdated, the car park is a shamozle . Have fun. The bathrooms need work and some new fittings wouldn't hurt. Thank God the bed is comfy atleast. This is a joke! And this is what to expect in our countries capital city?
Big, lovely hotel with Canberra city views.Beware of hidden costs-wifi in room costs but not obvious when you start using it. Movies not free on TV. Bicycles associated with Crowne PP v. expensive ($12 per hour with misleading advertising saying it's cheaper). Near gorgeous park & 10 mins walk to Aldi, city mall and fantastic asian restaurants. Crowne PP restaurant expensive-recommend you walk up the road to lots of lovely restaurants (far better value)10 mins away. ALSO crowne PP restaurant coffee is no good.Bring your own snacks from Aldi or Coles and have a picnic or barbie in the park while staying at CPP (recommended). Good place to stay if you are careful of the extra hidden costs -which could easily make your stay very expensive. Very central to city and 25 mins walk away from beautiful Lake Burley Griffin with a lovely park. Helpful staff. Smallish room with no microwave.
