Burbury Hotel & Apartments4.5 out of 5.0

The venue was well maintained and provided a good meeting point that was central to all my needs. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location provided several options to meet with team members given the hotels are linked.
We were unsure about this hotel, given the recent reviews, but were happy with the standard of accommodation & amenities provided. We stayed for four nights & had the chance to try the gym, Hales, which had a reasonable amount of modern equipment. We also tried breakfast, which we were most concerned about given the reviews. The range of produce was fine, but there was no fresh fruit available or a healthy cereal option. I have to agree with previous reviews & suggest a better quality coffee bean. Although the black furniture was tired & 'worn', it was very clean. We would have rated the hotel higher except the standard of service was really lacking. We had to ask for our room to be serviced every day, even though we indicated it was required by the door sign. When it was serviced, the bed looked like my husband had made it, & basic items were overlooked, which we had to request every day. The response from Front Desk staff was poor & gave the impression, they either weren't interested or were unaware of what customers expect. The Burbury is a comfortable, conveniently located hotel. It is an average standard hotel, without finess, or any real attention to detail.
Located in a great little precinct, Burbury Hotel and all of DOMA Hotels are amazing. Burbury staff were welcoming and catered to our needs in an efficient manner. Rooms are really lovely and the food outlets within the precinct are of great quality. Local and a close walk to the parliament house, gallery and more. Will be back for sure!
Burbury is a nice hotel however it’s nothing outstanding for the price. There’s no character and I found the rooms to be small and dark. Amenities are fine and clean with excellent toiletry selection. I love the Doma Hotels however they are just lacking something.
I’ve stayed at the Burbury many times, and as usual it was wonderful. This was the first time I’ve stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The staff are amazing - welcoming and warm. Check in and check out very efficient. The room was very clean and tidy. Super quiet as always. Bedrooms and bathrooms both very spacious. No bath in the 2 bedroom apartment, but both have very good showers with excellent water pressure. The living area is well set up with dining table, living area and well-equipped kitchen. Dishwasher easy to use and works well. The entertainment system has a large selection of Foxtel channels and movies. It does crash regularly which is a longstanding and frustrating problem. Wifi is excellent and never seems to crash. Easily fast enough to watch Netflix. Washing machine is a washer/dryer combo. We followed the instructions provided - washes well, but the dryer function is useless. The machine was drying for over an hour and the clothes were still very wet. Definitely don’t count on being able to dry your clothes in the dryer. The gym is amazing and my Dad used the pool every day (he was very impressed with it). Convenient location with a couple of great restaurants in the complex. Easily walking distance to Kingston and Manuka providing even more dining/grocery/entertainment options.
I stayed in a one bedroom apartment and was disappointed. The facilities were not up to standard. The furniture was chipped and marked, the bedroom was small with no space for luggage, the bathroom sink was not clean, the microwave was not easy to use and the instructions were not clear, the frypan had a loose handle (making it dangerous), the exhaust in the bathroom took a very long time to defog the room after a shower. The lift floor was dirty and stained, and the corridor walls were scuffed and in desperate need of repair and paint. On a positive note, the reception staff were fabulous. I checked out after one night and went somewhere else.
This was our first stay at the Burbury Hotel, staying Easter long weekend (3nts). We stayed in a Burbury King Room. We chose it due to its location, being extremely close to lots of attractions, Lake Burley Griffin, cafes and restaurants in Kingston and the surrounding area, as well as in a quiet residential area. Location did not disappoint - Very Happy. The hotel is part of a group of hotels, meaning you can use all facilities - restaurants, gym, pool etc. Buffet breakfast was great value and great selection (choice of venues for breakfast). The rooms are of a really great size, very modern and a great shower. Our disappointment was the cleanliness of the room. Hairs on the linens and pillows, blood on the doona, old / mouldy food in the fridge, cobwebs on the balcony furniture and railing, and badly vacuumed floors. Our TV remote did not work, after calling the front desk 3 times and waiting 2 hours (not the fault of the front desk staff), the batteries were changed by maintenance. Front desk staff were very friendly and attentive, however the support staff let down this hotel - cleaning and maintenance. Attention to detail is needed especially cleaning, but GREAT Hotel and would definitely recommend and stay again.
Excellent room, clean and comfortable. There is also a good selection of movies to watch and secure undercover car park for your car. Hotel located in a nice quiet location. Would have been nice if the pool and gym opened a lot earlier and closed a little later. Overall excellent stay and would recommend this hotel.
I stayed for 3 days based on other reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel is quiet & nicely decorated. The trendy decor of black walls & carpet shows up scuff marks which might make it appear a little grubby at first but it’s kept very clean. I booked direct with the hotel & got secure underground car parking included. Buffet breakfast very nice. Would stay here again.
Definitely not a bad stay but felt like the website portrayed a very glam property but in actual fact it was pretty basic. I felt like the up keep of the hotel could have been better. The most disappointing was the fact that the gym, pool and spa were in the surrounding hotels, I found no mention of this on the website (maybe I missed it in some fine print but that should be advertised correctly). Over the stay I had to walk across the road to get to the gym and pool so was unable to get there in a comfortable robe within the hotel because you had to walk across a public road, maybe that's a small issue but I think the whole point of staying at a hotel is to feel comfortable and relaxed over the whole stay and I didn't feel this here. The website was pretty deceiving.
