We were very pleased with our accommodation. The rooms were clean and very spacious for a family of four. We had lakeside views and it was everything we hoped for. Fantastic views! The rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We highly recommend and will definitely be staying at breakfree capital Towers on our next visit to Canberra
Close to all the major tourist attractions. BBQ and pool area very relaxing. My wife is a smoker so being able to smoke on the balcony was welcomed. Very good security for building and car parking facilities.
We have stayed at Break-free tower a few times now. Large rooms and apartments are great with kids as there are no steps and there is a bit of space so not on top of each other. The location is one of the best things as you can get onto major roads or walk into the city.
The location is great and the view is lovely. The apartment was big with a large master bedroom - the other bedrooms really only fit the beds in them. It is rather dated and had that old cooking smell to it. However you can open all of the sliding doors and windows which was refreshing.
We stayed here 3 years ago and not a lot has changed apart form what looks like wear/tear. Spacious well-equipped apartment but the decor and furnishings need refreshed. Both times, we have overlooked the lake with views across to the Parliament Building. We were on a higher level this time, and am unsure if this could account for louder traffic noise on the balcony, or have the roads just got busier? The location is excellent and I'm pretty sure the outside parking (via the barrier) is free. The biggest nusiance is the wifi not extending to the apartments; you have to sit in the lobby to connect. 3 years ago this was not so problematic, but this time the lobby got quite crowded, and with limited seating, it did not take many people ( including children with tablets) to occupy all the seats. I told reception this was unacceptable in a reasonable hotel in a capital city, and was informed that the structure of the building made it difficult to extend the wifi. I'm not an IT expert, but I have heard of wifi extenders, so not impressed.
We stayed over the Easter weekend. Very disappointed with the property. The rooms are very tired. Carpet was dirty and stained. Smelt like the apartment had been smoked in. Spa was not working. The Lift felt like it was going to break-down as it bumped and shuddered its way up and down. Basement was cluttered with furniture.
Overall it was a good stay in a good position. A little deceiving advertising free wifi and parking when the free wifi is only in the foyer and the parking is $10 per day. Also the spa wasn't working.
Excellent value for money. Central to CBD and staff were helpful and customer focused. Walking distance to supermarkets, Lake and city centre. Parking was plentiful. Well equipped gym and the pool was a hit with the kids. Rooms got a little warm (temps in high 20s all week)
Great location for a family holiday to Canberra. We were able to walk to Questacon and the National Gallery. The apartment was huge and accommodated all five of us very easily. Fantastic view and the pool was excellent. Not the newest or slickest apartment I have stayed in and is showing its age but perfect for a family trip.
lakeside views. Ours consisted of a tennis court, a highway, then a car park, followed by a small glimpse of water just above the cars through the trees. We are very disappointed. We were told we paid for a lakeside apartment and they can't guarantee a view just beware if you think your paying extra for a view. Chances are you are paying extra cause you have nothing better to do with your money
