Nice room but overall not nearly as good as it used to be. Several small details lacking. Single set of towels in our Jr Suite. Kippers on the breakfast menu but no kippers available. Breakfast seemed under staffed and under equipped. Disappointed compared to what it used to be.

Room was clean and very comfortable, bathroom facilities were great. Service from reception wasn’t particularly welcoming although our room request was provided when we asked. Service at dinner was sloppy; drinks forgotten and then charged for a more expensive glass of wine and just “topped up” with the cheaper bottle. Breakfast service was much better.

Room was very dated and smelled strongly of cannabis. My husband left a window open to air the room but by the time I got to the hotel, much later than him, it still stank of cannabis. Stains on carpet floor, hard to find lights for the shower room, weird combination of a separate toilet, roll top bath to the side of the bed, and separate shower area. Stains on chairs, old fashioned wardrobes. Not what I would expect of a Junior Suite. Breakfast was good, as was the location - very central. Overall felt the room and corridors were tired and battered. Could do with a refurbishment.
