Overall things were ok. The reception area is small and felt disorganised when busy, at times felt like I was an inconvenience to be asking for things - customer service was lacking. The hotel in areas is showing its age, but in the main it met our needs for a short visit. Room itself was comfy, well equipped, clean, everything soft to touch. The air conditioning pretty sure wasn’t working in our room, quite warm, other areas in the hotel were more comfortable to be in and cooler. Breakfast, good range of cooked foods and continental breakfast. Not sure what was going on with the hollandaise sauce with my eggs, more like a bowl of soup with eggs and muffins - very odd. Service was welcoming, full of smiles and all happy to assist. Can’t compare it to other hotels in Cambridge but I think I might try somewhere else on my next visit.

Paid just under £1000 for 2 nights, Lady at breakfast was friendly, staff at front desk generally indifferent (apart from when we checked in, different man) Room was good but I am unsure whether it’s worth just under £500 per night. Due to the location I would like to stay again but I would value it around 250 / 300 per night as opposed to 475+

Cozy weekend escape in Cambridge

This was the best stay I've had in Cambridge and will recommend it to my family and friends when they visit. The room was cosy but so spacious - it felt like having a full flat to ourselves. The staff were super kind and helpful, the food was delicious, and the location was perfect.

Great hotel but...

I've stayed in may Hotel du Vin over the years. Always lovely building with great decor and service. The rooms are now getting a little tired and probably ready for a refurb.

Very comfortable room unique design , well appointed with good amenities, helpful staff and a good location. Avoid Concha y Toro room until works have ceased in courtyard area, otherwise you will get woken up around 8 or 8:30( sadly no advisory on this at time of booking) Also a loose light fitting with wiring showing which had dropped out in wardrobe. Mentioned to staff. Note made. A matter that can easily be resolved. Checkout is at 11:00 and only one person on duty at that point. Long wait as we waited for couple in front to resolve problems and then lady behind us was getting concerned she was going to miss the 11 am deadline for checkout.

I booked a delux room as it stated they had baths.. it turned out we were in a disability room no bath plastic seats in shower..there was no view from the window.. this room in my opinion apart from the floor space was not dulux

Room was a bit tired and exceptionally dark as there was scaffolding outside the window - a warning would have been appreciated! Otherwise comfortable, nice smellies in the bathroom and plenty of space. Most of the staff could not have been more helpful.
