spent 4 nights here and enjoyed it tremendously good location....we did a lot of walking and there were tons of places to eat and bars to wet your whistle super attentive to everything....even a delightful glass of flavored water to rehydrate after walking around....a very nice bar on an outside terrace too....restaurant too...and very good food and reasonably priced....would return here without hesitation
My kind of a Hotel with a nice and relaxed atmosphere with a super location and with excellent rooms. I prefer hotels that do not remind me of a tivoli and have the local flavour - however a little improvement on communication skills in english would be nice. ...anyway the hotel is strongly recommend :-)
When traveling to Cali, it's important to be aware what part of the city you will be spending more time in, south or north; the city has grown towards the south in the past 20 years or so, and given chaotic traffic, it's best to stay near to where you will need to be. If in the northern part of Cali, the Movich Casa del Alferez is a solid choice, and a great value for the price. The rooms, featuring beautiful wooden floors, are large and well appointed, with large bathrooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast was included in our rate and, unlike so many other hotels where this means a paltry buffet, this is an a la carte breakfast with two pages of offerings in the menu! Throughout our stay, the hotel staff was super friendly, always ready to help with a smile. If the hotel management reads this, I would suggest to them a few things; it is time to upgrade certain details such as the bathroom faucets. In our room (302), the shower faucets were loose (and the shelf next to the bathtub would flood every time we used the shower), and the bathroom fixtures were old. The toilet paper was extremely cheap and rough, and one of our towels was so threadbare, I poked a finger right through the fabric, so they would realize it needed changing. Our in-room safe, which looked very old-tech, failed, and they were not able to fix it. So Movich people: Time to invest a little bit in upgrades. Other than those minor foibles, the hotel is excellently located near the north of of Cali, and once again, kudos for your great staff. Not a luxury hotel, but a very good choice nevertheless.
After doing extensive research on the internet, this was the hotel I chose for our arrival night in Colombia (early the next morning we'd be heading to the interior of the country to bird). Traveling from Brazil to Cali isn't as easy as it seems, and it took me about 10 hours to get to Cali. I was pretty tired as it was already night. Check in was quick and efficient, staff was extremely helpful and cordial, and in no time I was in my room. For some reason I won't question, I was given an upgrade and ended up in a huge corner unit with a sitting room (with a small fridge, coffee machine, couches, etc.), a huge sleeping area and a big, functional, pleasant bathroom. It was only a brief stay, but it was lovely. Air-con, shower, mattress, TV, internet, everything worked without a hiccup. I got a good night's sleep. Early the next morning, I had breakfast (included in the rate) in a nice, airy, bright room. Omelette made to order, tasty breads, good coffee, and I was good to go. Very happy with this hotel.
We enjoyed our three night stay here. We were three generations, returning to Cali for the first time in 40 years. This was a lovely hotel, with friendly staff. Communication in English was difficult but we had three people who spoke Spanish. I (as a non-Spanish speaker, yet the one arranging the plans) had some difficulty understanding the website and amenities. For example, I would have liked knowing (in advance) what times the restaurant was open. I tried reaching out in Facebook to ask about transportation from the airport with no response. (Noting that Facebook is not a reliable way to get information.) Our flight from Los Angeles arrived at 10 a.m. When we checked in, we asked at what time the rooms would be ready as our 85 year old father was very tired (and cranky!) from the flight. We were told that at least one room would be ready by 1 p.m. for him. We decided to have lunch in the restaurant while we waited, but the restaurant was closed between breakfast and lunch (reopening at 1, if the tablecloths were delivered on time.) Otherwise, once we were checked in and settled in, our stay was marvelous. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were quick to remedy any problems. Highly recommended.
We checked in late at night and the desk was very friendly, however, we had made a reservation for 3 persons and while the hotel was quiet and we had a suite they could only put us in a king size bed. On our second night inner at their small restaurant was good, but when it closes while you are still eating, they staff leaves and you will sit there alone. Located in a nice neighborhood.
I normally go through air bnb when I do travel however I decided to book a hotel for this trip to Cali .After some extensive research I decided to stay at Movich . It’s about 30 minutes from the airport and in Granada which offers a wide array of amazing restaurants and night life. Back to the hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and were attentive and helpful with anything I asked for. The room I stayed at was very large with a super comfortable kind size bed. All the amenities were On point and I had no issues. What I enjoyed the most was the peace and quiet at night . Didn’t here cars honking people screaming or anything which I enjoyed . I was extremely satisfied with the Movich and I plan on using them on my next trip .
Loved staying here, comfy beds and friendly staff. The food was great, the drinks were strong. Not too far away from the event i needed to get to. Check-in was easy, check-out was easier. Also, you can put taxi charges onto your account so you don't have to carry any cash for taxi rides.
It is in the Granada neighborhood which is full of nice shops, restaurants and bars. It is 10-20 minute walk to the Museo de Tertulia and another nice neighborhood of El Peñon. I had a wonderfully comfortable room. Nice accommodating staff. I will stay there again.
It's situated in a quiet and safe area, close to city center, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The room was elegant with modern furniture and French windows, the bathroom was a disappointment though and needs renovation. There was also bad isolation from the hall to the room. The staff was ok, breakfast tasty - it's a la carte. With some improvements this could become a great hotel, like the ones of the same kind in Europe (small luxury hotels).
