We had car trouble and they sent a wonderful person to pick us up on the side of the highway. Once we arrived they quickly got us into a very well-priced room that was spacious and immaculate! The kids were occupied in the awesome pool while we arranged for a mechanic. They quickly provided some take out menus so we could have a bite to eat and checked in on us to see if there was anything else we needed. We WILL be back! The customer service was outstanding!! Natasha and Cheryl ROCK and deserve some recognition!!
Having kids in hockey I get to experience ALOT of hotels. This one was pretty typical however I do have to say the room was very good!! Nice and spacious. Breakfast changed everyday so that was nice also. Would return.
So it was a two night stay, Thursday and Friday night. We reAched around 6pm on Thursday evening and were given keys for room number 109(away from the elevators, as we had requested), We entered room number 109 and SURPRISE, the room had not been cleaned, the bed was all destroyed. Immediately walked upto front desk and were assigned another room, 105(just next to the elevator on ground floor). Its Friday night(our second night in the hotel as I am typing this review). We were carrying our apple TV and wanted it connected but the front desk could not really help us(We let it go). But since today(Friday evening), the WiFi has been horrible, utmost horrible. We can’t even watch a youtube video. We went swimming in the evening and a couple was drinking wine sitting in hot tub(we were with the kids, in a public swimming pool) I wonder if anybody was watching on that camera they have installed in the swimming area. Anyway we came back to the room soon after that. Kids have been having trouble sleeping as there is so much noise in the corridor due to us being near to the elevators I guess. If there was even a little good in this stay it has been heavily overshadowed by the bad. This is by far the worst stay in a hotel across the world that I have had. It beats my horrible stay at Radisson blu,Delhi last year. I had a choice to stay at other good hotels that were offering cheaper price too, but I chose this because I wanted to experience IHG hotels. Heavily disappointed by this stay. I have tried all membership hotels but starwood hotels (marriot included)and choice hotels beat them, all these other chains of memberships. I am still suffering the agony of loud noises at 8:53 pm friday night as I type this review. I don’t recommend this to even the people I don’t like. What a waste of money. Bad choice!
We stayed here over the Christmas vacation while we visited family in Airdrie. The room was clean and comfortable and the kids loved the pool and water slide. The breakfast was fairly good and the staff quite friendly. For the price we felt it was good value for our money.
In all my travels, I have yet to receive the type of customer service that Natacha provided. From the moment I walked through the door until my departure she continued to knock it out of the park. With that in mind and the hotel having all the perks you could ask for. I make this location my hotel of choice when traveling to Calgary. The short drive is 100% worth it for this little gem.
We stayed here two nights at the start of our Rockies road trip. After a long flight into Calgary and a short, easy drive to Aidrie, it was great to get a friendly welcome, a spacious room, comfortable bed and an adequate breakfast. There were plenty of electric outlets in the room including USB points which was good. The location was also convenient for visiting the dinosaur shenanigans at Drumheller, the next day. I've stayed in HIE many times before and would certainly recommend this one or convenience and quality.
After a long day on the road, we were looking forward to a swim and relaxing hot tub but that wasn't possible. We stayed two nights in a king suite but had a few complaints. PROS: This hotel had a recent reno and the king suite was spacious with excellent lighting, nicely appointed and the bed was really comfortable. A clever luggage shelf had enough room to open a suitcase for easy access. Semi-transparent blinds were attractive, allowed the light to get in and would be easy to keep clean. The computer desk was spacious with a chair that was comfy and adjustable. The 48" flat screen TV with HD had lots of channels. CONS: WIFI connection was not reliable and internet seemed slow. The breakfast choices were bland and boring (plain omelette with no filling, sausages one day, sausage patties the next). The swimming pool was cold, only 4.5 ft deep and a ridiculous slide aimed at the center of the deep end prevented any kind of adult swimming. The hot tub had really feeble jets making it a waste of time. Although there were several channels, nothing interesting.
We stayed here after we flew back into Calgary Airport. Its only about 10 minutes up the freeway with easy access from the airport onto Highway 2. I should add that we had our own car that we had left in the Park & Jet. Nice hotel, looks like they have done some upgrades. We had a NS, King with wet bar, fridge and microwave. Nice big room, clean and well laid out. A very decent rate. It is located in a sort of commercial/industrial area and there are no restaurants within walking distance. Near the freeway but the noise level was not a factor. If you want to stay out of the city (Calgary) for shopping Airdrie has all the big box stores and lots of other retail. Costco and a giant outlet mall (Cross Iron Mills) are located just 5 minutes south towards Calgary. A nice hotel for a good price, we would stay here again.
The rates are good. The smell of chlorine from the pool greets you as you enter the hotel and is so strong that you will have a hard time rinsing it out of bathing suits in your room. The internet was dialup speed and there isn't a restaurant within a reasonable walking distance. But hey ... you get your IHG points.
The variety of items available for breakfast was spectacular. The WiFi was fast and consistent. The beds were soft. However, the room was noisy as noise from the hallway entered the room; plus the room doors close very loudly. The design of the rooms was beautiful and very modern.
