Staff were very friendly but the hotel wasn't upto standard in regard to rooms or beds and no wifi provided in rooms however in general location of the hotel is in wonderful area and if you need to stay for one day just to sleep the rest of the day are out then I recommend it.
The Moods cafe on floor 10 has great shisha and soft drinks and lovely views. It should be noted by westerners that it does not sell alcoholic drinks. I didn't stay in the hotel but was made very welcome in the cafe.
a very good hotel with friendly staff. the intercontinental cuisine is good. the butler can cook the food as per your desire. the bar of the hotel serves nice drinks & the stay is made memorable. good hotel for business also
We stayed at the Holidays Express when we were in Cairo for about a week. The hotel was always clean and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was extensive. If we were in the area again I would be willing to stay there.
When we arrived to the Hotel my father was absolutely disgusted. The hotel staff was not particularly friendly, the room was not very clean, and it looked shabby. It was not until we drove around Cairo did we realize that we could have had it much worse. The hotel is in a good location; however, we did not see very many other tourists in the general vicinity. This did not bother us and we spent quite a bit of time walking the neighborhood. The only questionable aspect was the breakfast. It was definitely not something a westerner would expect. The club on the 11th floor was cozy with mostly locals visiting. Another problem would be communication with the staff. The majority did not know English, but this did not prove to be a big problem.
Hotel is not what it says on the box! Nearly fainted when we arrived outside the hotel. Food and bedrooms poor
We were really stressed out after reading 100s of negative reviews of hotels in Cairo, including very renowned ones, 5 Star etc. So it was a gamble to go for a hotel with a solitary positive review. Holidays Express was just the kind of place we were looking for. Neat & clean premises with very humble and loving staff. Each individual longing to make a better effort and make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. They were very reluctant to accept tips, I'm serious Guys! The location was superb and we were spoilt for choices to eat out. Travelling to any part of the city was very convenient as taxis are readily available 24/7. Fares to down-town was economical 10-15 LE The panoramic view of the Hotel rooftop cafe where they serve breakfast is breath taking. Evening lounge with same panoramic views is relaxing as you can enjoy sheesha and snacks and watch the glitzy Cairo life from the rooftop. This place is very popular with the youngsters. So if you want a hotel with cleanliness and courtesy bang in the middle of Cairo, this is it. For those who seek luxury, stay at the Fairmount, Le Meridien or the likes..
hotel is easy to find as it is located in one of the main streets in cairo, and opposite Zamalek sports club. that area has well known places like Mc, Costa, Pizza hut, CiB, cash machines, banks, Metro market and many more, also some local coffee shops and restaurants, nice ones. hotel has been recently renovated so that comforted me cause i know how worn out and dirty even 5 star hotels can be! First i looked was bathroom, new, all functioning well, water pressure strong, A/C working well not loud, and furniture without stains. Anyway i didn't spend long time in the room but was comfy and functional. Food is ok, nothing spec to mention, but restaurant looked clean (there would be another one but was under construction, didn't bother me as no noise!) Reception tried to help out on several ocassions andthey did ok, nobody stressed out for tips. So if you are not looking to pamper yourself in the hotel only, visit this one as it is clean, comfortable and decent. There are plenty of thing to do in cairo so you wil spend all the time in the room.
