We loved this hotel. The room was enormous and all the facilities were superb. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom was palatial in size. We ate by the pool in a little glass cabin and the food was delicious. The portions were huge and we over ordered because we wanted to try several things. The chicken shawarma is highly recommended. There was a great variety on the breakfast buffet and our waiter suggested we try some local dishes which were freshly cooked for us. Incidentally, we decided to go for a walk in the local area. This proved to be a mistake. The traffic is horrendous. We crossed the road to walk along by the zoo and couldn’t get back across. Eventually a very kind local man stepped out and stopped the traffic escorting us across. I would describe the hotel as having old fashioned charm.
Due to a stay in inferior rooms at our supposed 5 Star hotel in Cairo, our tour manager complained to the company she has been using for many years and they responded by upgrading the last 5 nights of our package to The 4 Seasons Cairo Hotel. A truly 7 Star Hotel. I am now spoilt by my experience there as I doubt very much that it could have be any better. Thank you Chrismar Travel and 4 Seasons Cairo.
The hotel is located next to the Giza Zoo and along the Nile River. The area around the hotel is a bit dusty but mostly foreign Embassies. The staff speaks English and are very helpful. The rooms are well sized and the beds are extremely comfortable. I arranged a sailing trip on the Nile and a guided trip to the pyramids through the concierge and was very satisfied with everything. The restaurants are very nice, great food at reasonable prices. The pool and cabanas are excellent. Breakfast is fantastic.
I lost my phone first day i arrive, the concierge go all the way out to help find and get my phone back, i can not thank more, , beside all that, the hotel staff is all very nice to me, the hotel is beautiful, i will stay here all the time whenever i come back to egypt again.
I did not expect this to be our favorite hotel on our three-country trip. I was pleasantly surprised by its beauty, the Aurora restaurant, the room and all the lovely people at the ready to help in any way they can. I wish we could have stayed longer. Now we must try four seasons everywhere!
The hotel itself is very stylish and you'd never believe you were in the middle of the traffic madness that is Cairo. The view of the pyramids is quite breathtaking and it is literally a short walk of a few metres to go visit them. That said, the service and food is not of the quality of a five star hotel. We waited a long time receive our drinks; rubbish from food and drink eaten at the pool wasn't cleared away and there just didn't seem to be sufficient staff there to serve. That said, of the hotel staff who were there, they were so lovely - warm, welcoming and very friendly.
Not quite a Four Seasons that is geared to the North American traveler and location is conducive to walking other than in the small, upscale mall adjacent. Staff was kind, warm, but overall not as professional as other Four Seasons Hotel staffs I've encountered. I stress OVERALL as there were exceptions!
Stayed here for 2 nights mid February at end of holiday; to see old Cairo; in every way luxurious and staff unfailingly attentive and efficient. But not our style at all; we booked to dine in the French restaurant to find it is located on a platform in the centre of a massive shopping mall and like eating at a busy airport; they seem to think people want to watch football on a large screen while dining and we rearranged our table to have our backs to it; we asked a manager (we assume so as he was wearing a suit) for our bill and he forgot to organise. Our G & Ts were the most expensive we have ever bought anywhere; on our credit card our bill was automatically done in US Dollars; admit we could have asked for British Pound but not worth hassle; an interesting indication of the target market.
We stayed in Four Seasons First Residence for Valentines holiday. We checked in after midnight because of our flight from London. We arranged for the hotel car to pick us up. The driver was wonderful and polite and professional. Even though we checked in so late- you would never know that because the doorman and reception were so attentive. You do have to go through security to get into the lobby. We were whisked upstairs to our room which was so spacious. There was a welcome basket and the pastry chef had some lovely Valentines petits fours! So nice! We slept well and the next morning we went for breakfast which was amazing! Just what you would expect- pastries , fruit, cereals, local food, even a smoothly bar! The service was impeccable! We went downstairs and met with the concierge to arrange for some tours of Cairo. Kristin was so helpful and kind. We were set up with Jasmine the tour guide and Mr. Ibrahim the driver. We went to the pyramids and we could not have been in better hands! Jasmine is amazing! She gave just the right amount of history and was so enthusiastic. Mr. Ibrahim was such a good driver, very careful and cautious - we felt so safe. The tour that Jasmine arranged was perfect- the pyramids were overwhelming but she balanced it with good areas for photography and history. We were so happy we asked if they were available the next day. They were and we were so excited! We had dinner in the hotel on the fourth floor restaurant which is by the pool. There is a restaurant but you can also use the cabanas around the pool. We chose the cabanas. The food was delicious- mezze, tabouleh, hummus, etc. this was perfect and very atmospheric. Everywhere we went the staff could not have been more friendly and kind and helpful. We spent 4 nights here. The hotel room looked out on the Nile and the zoo and the gardens of the French Embassy and you can even see the pyramids in the distance. Just perfect. Everyday we spent in Cairo was perfect. We felt safe and we felt the Four Seasons First Residence was the best place to stay. I know it seems impossible to believe but trust me when I tell you - this hotel has the best service than any hotel we have been to. Everyone was courteous, kind, professional and went out of there way to make sure we were having a wonderful stay. I cannot say more positive and good things. If you plan to go to Cairo, please stay here and have Jasmine show you her city and have Mr. Ibrahim take you there. Thank you for the best memories and the best vacation we ever had.
I actually opened this hotel about 18 years ago when I was producing a tv show here and so when I came back I didn’t think of another hotel. A lot has changed but the service is as good as it gets. From Layla by the pool to Mohammad in housekeeping the staff is on it. Rooms are big and amenities are all Four Seasons, but it could use an update. Take time for the lovely spa and pool with good food everywhere. The main downfall is the traffic surrounding the hotel. Awful. A very nice stay. Many thanks.
