The hotel should get 5*. The hotel design is perfect and we had the chance to get a free upgrade to our room. The receptionist is very helpful and we checked in less than 10 mins. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I have stayed several times in this hotel over the years. My recent stay can only be described as "average". First the good stuff: the restaurant on the top floor served me an excellent meal, which was just as well as I was the only client in there. Breakfast was a bit disappointing: instead of orange juice there was a sickly sweet syrup-based drink which was horrible. The bread rolls were dry and the coffee bitter. The cooking staff were very friendly, the serving staff very stressed, and there was an abundance of self-important "managers" who did little but strut around looking serious, hands behind their backs. The "Superior room" was comfortable and I had a nice view of the Nile but the a/c didn't work so I had to sleep with the window open so as to get some cool air. The constant honking from the street below and the calling to prayer at dawn meant that, despite the comfortable bed, sleep was difficult. I informed reception that the a/c needed fixing when I went out to work in the morning. When I returned it hadn't been fixed. I asked the receptionist "Why hasn't it been fixed ?" "Yes ?" "I asked for the a/c to be fixed and it hasn't been and there's been no explanation". "I will send the engineer". "When ? I want to go to bed !" "You wanta the room checker ?" "What ?" "You wanta the room checker ?" I had to give up and go to bed with the window open again. To sum up, the hotel is reasonably ok but I think the staff need to pull a finger out.

We stayed for four nights over the Christmas period. It makes a great base for exploring Cairo and the staff are helpful and friendly. The bar is small but well-known and popular. Rooms are clean and comfortable and Zimalek has lots going for it.

A group of us stayed at the Golden Tulip while in town for work. All things considering, it was quite a nice stay. We were out much of the days we were there but we enjoyed our time there. My room was large, but as for most hotels in Cairo, you could hear the honking 8 floors up. The breakfast options were solid and the bar attached to the hotel was great for intimate conversations. It took them awhile to finish my laundry but other than that the stay was comfortable and nice.

If you want a simple hotel this is definitely the place to stay. It's nestled in a safe little location in Zamalek, Cairo. Its within walking distance to restaurants and hookah lounges. There's a grocery store literally right across the street. The staff are friendly and accomadating. It's clean and I had a nice view of the Nile from my veranda. Breakfast was included with a variety of things you can choose from. Also, there was a chef who made omlettes. The dinner was also good. I paid 71 dollars a night and thought it was worth every penny.

Value money hotel with neat room for short stay at cairo v good breakfast included and mainly it's place near all of the fast food and zamalek neighborhood and the Nile river just a step from the hotel .finally it's a recommended hotel for short stay at cairo

For the money, it is an excellent value. Though dated in appearance, room was extraordinarily large and quiet, so long as the sliding door was closed. The breakfast was very good. Staff were helpful; when a problem arose with the air conditioner, a repair person handled it promptly. Above all, the location is perfect.

Was on a holiday to Egypt. Stayed at Golden Tulip. Room was small. Getting wifi connectivity was a pain. Bath tub stopper couldn't be closed to run a bath. The health faucet/shower didn't work. Not value for money.

This was my first stay at the Golden Tulip Flamenco in Zamalek. I know Zamalek well and I like the location very much. I have met friends before for drinks in the Carmen bar and have always enjoyed the service there, which has always been both efficient and friendly. The hotel is very clean & modern, it has just finished a refurbishment, it is a boutique style hotel which I like as it's not too big and impersonal. I booked mainly because I like the area and the rate for a standard room was very affordable for Zamalek, one of my favourite areas of Cairo. The check in process was very smooth, only about five minutes. All the receptionists were very friendly and volunteered details about breakfast times, free wifi password / how to access it. The wifi worked very well in my room and in the lobby or the lounge. They also pointed out services near the hotel, which would be good for someone not familiar with the area. Whenever I had a question, they would answer it and even drew a little map to make it easier to find things, it was a pleasure to talk to them. On several occasions I asked reception for information and they were obliging, friendly and helpful, so well done. I had a problem with my TV remote and the lock on my door, they were fixed by the time I returned to the room after breakfast, great service. Reception changed large notes for smaller ones where they could and they were quick to point out the money exchange not far from the hotel, turn left as you exit the hotel it is on the same side of the street, about a 2 min walk. The room was not huge but it is clean & modern, with efficient air con, a new TV, comfy bed and a very cold fridge (often the fridges are not cold in Egypt). I slept well in the hotel, that was wonderful as I had suffered insomnia quite a bit this trip. The bathroom was compact but modern with good hot water service and water pressure. The breakfast buffet was better than average with something for everyone, hot dishes, an assortment of different breads and pastries, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, eggs cooked to order, juice, water, tea and coffee - the restaurant is clean & the servers were friendly. Room service was also affordable, prompt and tasty. There is a Metro supermarket nearby, drycleaner, a pharmacy just across the street, restaurants / both take-away and dine in including Seqouia, Sushi, Latin American, Italian, Pizza Hut, Cook Door, Hardees, Butcher Burger and so many coffee shops and patisseries including the hotel's own called Postres in Abu el Feda street. There are lots of clothes shops, banks and ATM's all within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again. Also the hotel is within walking distance of the new metro stop under construction, which will be a bonus when it opens and it's also within walking distance to the popular Rooftop bar with magnificent Nile views especially at night. Great value for Zamalek in my opinion.

Very clean Have a nice view Room service is perfect Food is perfect Friendly staff Good food Receptionist is good Room is big Iwill must be in it agin with my family I thank everyone in the hotel.....
