Signature rooms is superb, amenities are excellent, food is excellent. From the second we reached the hotel, the exceptional experience was waiting for us. We stayed there for 11 days and every second was amazing.
The Fairmont was the perfect choice in hotels for our stay in Cairo. It's was our first time in Egypt and we had a room overlooking the Nile river. The view was stunning and the decor of the hotel was gorgeous. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Every time I remembered my staying there I feel so happy. It's a good experience over there. I like the pool on the roof making tanning during the sunny morning. But the entrance was so narrow with so crowded people.
Me and my husband stayed for three weeks while searching for a new apartment in Cairo. It is indeed a very nice hotel but definitely no space for non-smokers,especially with me being pregnant. The only non smoking areas I could find was the Napa Grill non-smoking area and our bedroom. I was shocked to see people smoking in lifts,in lobbies and the hotel staff doing nothing about it. Perhaps it was also because ashtrays were placed on every floor that encouraged guests to smoke freely. Secondly,it was the noise level coming from the ballroom perhaps. Even though we stayed on the 17th floor, there were two nights when the loud music woke us up. I cannot imagine how the lower floors dealt with the noise as every guest should be entitled to peace and silence. Thirdly, the staff at Champagne Bar really needs proper training and professionalism. There were times when we were ignored and had to go to the cash counter to place orders and ask for checks. Apart from the three points, everything was fine. Lovely restaurant staff especially Ismail Mohammed at Napa Grill breakfast and Bader from Saigon restaurant. Thanks to them, they made out stay so bearable and comfortable that we survived three weeks! Definitely not going back or not recommending it to anyone.
Superb..very friendly...Most helpful stuff I've ever seen. ..fantastic view...outstanding room...excllent food...it would be definitely my distination every time I go to Cairo..thanks for you all there who really worked hard to please us..
Ok! let me start by saying this wasn't my choice - I was there because I was attending a family event that was being organized there. First impression - not impressed. This monster is part of a mixed use development that includes residential apartments, office space, a mall with cinema annex (part of the developers family business, so it had to be there) all built on a thin strip of land that was once (at the turn of the 20th century) an extension of the modern European styled Cairo - not that a trace of that is left for anyone to see. Severing the towering monster from its surroundings is a barley 15 ft wide street, that seems so mind bending you'd think you were watching an episode of the Twilight Zone where on one side is a very dark steel, concrete & glass future and on the other, a community that the world has turned its back too. That is the first gut punch. The second is the hotel lobby - I have never been to a hotel where the driveway leading up to the front door is wider than the actual reception, lobby and main hotel restaurant on the L floor. To compensate, they have another LL (lower Lobby) that is barely noticed except when accessing the mall annex. Another really big issue is with vertical transportation - this is a really big hotel and is serviced with only six elevators in a central "V" shaped foyer that leads to a similar copies on each floor. The last gut punch is the concierge service - through no fault of their own they seem to be deeply understaffed with just a handful of very energetic ladies and gentlemen multitasking a dozen tasks a minute - kudos to them, but shame on such a fancy hotel that can't support their front line with a few extra good people. Because my mother was with me and I had no information about this place from first hand sources, I decided to take the Deluxe room option that allowed access to the executive floor known as the "FG" floor where my mom and I could have quiet meals away from the ruckus elsewhere - and boy was I glad that I chose that option! Going around the five different restaurants in this monster was like visiting White Castle or Medieval Times - no trace of a five star establishment except in the availability of linens and the cutlery. I know that this isn't the hotels fault - but I kinda wanna think that it is. The food at the eateries is satisfactory - not great - nothing worth remembering just efficient and sanitary and in Egypt that is more than you can hope for. The room was quite nice, though I had requested double beds, but all that available was a large queen size, o I left it for my mom and i took the floor. The hotel offered a separate bed, but it was to bothersome and the space allocation in the room wasn't going to help the fluid mobility of a 76 year old lady moving about, so I hit the floor, and as usual in most hotels there were a few disgusting surprises under the study and the beds - by the way the deluxe room has an actual study with an associated desk so for all the nerds who like to work or type its a great option to have in the room. The bathroom is the surprise in this room option - it is literally the exact size of the livable area in the room, thus this hotel is a great place for partying and sleeping off a hangover. Had to call plumbing to check the water flow out of the shower, as it was piling up and flowing into the rest of the bath. The view from the hotel is your standard Nile view - nothing fancy. And that's the essence of this hotel nothing fancy - glittery, elitist, vain but no class. I have stayed at several of the hotels owned by the same gentleman who owns this place, none have saddened me as much.
I arrived late yesterday before midnight and the hotel was very overcrowded and my booking was canceled !!idont no beacuse there is no creidit in visa even i mention i would like to pay cash and Im amother with my little daughter and they would take us out to another hotel they said sorry no place!
