The hotel building is under renovation so the facilities are unavailable, except the pool. My room was old & rundown but still functional with a great ocean view. The staff were friendly. Great coffee van out front too.

This hotel has just been taken over by new owners the staff were saying, so are putting a lot of money into it to get it up to 4 star. The staff were so helpful, my room was great ,and with the improvements it'll only get better. What a location too, loved we were looking out over the ocean, and an easy walk into town. I'll definitely be staying here again when I come back.

This is an old hotel, built around 45 years ago but with beautiful sea views and it's being refurbished. It doesn't feature the latest amenities in your room, but it tries hard. A couple of things would add to the room experience like a coffee maker, extra pillows and an improved TV with Internet.

This property is very basic and although the price is low for the Cairns area it is still too expensive for the quality of this accomodation. The building is aging and needs a decent clean of mouldy external surfaces.

Great location. WiFi is horrible. I believe the property recently changed management. They have a lot of work to do as it is very old and dated. You have to ask for housekeeping, and then there’s still no guarantee. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they were willing to store baggage.

I do have a pic of the room I stayed in.

Totally different from pictures, should've read the reviews!! Felt uncomfortable & didn't want to stay the night, reception is trying to hold it together but basically a backpackers nowhere worth the money & no amenities working. One brittle plastic chair on balcony once I could get the door open
