Another great holiday at on the beach apartments trinity beach,The manager gerald is more than happy to help if needed .The office and room staff are all very efficient in there work.Cannot wait to return next year .Thank you all.
Old. Outdated. Lack of facilities. We had room 19. Asked for an ocean view and couldn’t see the ocean at all. Could just see the waves lapping on the shore. The “permanent resident” in room 17 was a nightmare. He burnt incense on his balcony which wafted in to our room and gave me a migraine. Couldn’t use the balcony as all I could smell was incense. We were then looking at brochures for tours in the area when he came and snatched the croc tour brochure I was looking at out of my hand and told me they were sh*+. He said he worked on one and come on their river cruise instead. He then gathered up all of his oppositions brochures and threw them in the bin. Unfortunately we had to leave otherwise we’d have asked to upgrade to a different room. Overall very disappointing. No refund offered although we paid for 4 nights and only stayed for one
Couldn't ask for more in terms of a tropical getaway. Amazing beachfront views and stunning vistas. The apartment was very well maintained and cleanliness was to a high standard. Reception were very informative on things to do in the area and provided us with numerous tours and trips available to us. Perfect holiday.
We arrived rather late in the day but check in was smooth enough. We were originally assigned to room 16 on the top floor overlooking the beach, although the view was obstructed by trees, it was pleasant enough. Upon entering the room, we were hit by a pungent smell, disregarding it to begin with, (We had arranged a meeting with friends) we returned to our room later that night and still noticed a bad odour coming from the bathroom, upon inspection I noticed that fluid was pooling on the floor in the vicinity of the toilet, I believed that the toilet was possibly leaking. Too late in the evening to make an issue of it, the following morning I attended at the reception and spoke to a woman whose manner left a lot to be desired, on the defense straight away and argumentative. Whilst trying to put my concerns to her regarding a possible health hazard, she wouldn't let me speak unless she could speak over the top of me, I eventually told her that I wasn't happy with her response and demeanour. Oh yes, she told me that we would be moved, but her manner in dealing with my complaint appeared to be a real chore for her. Re training in customer relations should be a high priority for this staff member. Location was fine for us, we had a hire car but if you need to rely on public transport to get to and from Cairns, travel time is close to an hour and bus fares aren't cheap. There are a couple of decent restaurants nearby as is the local pub a 5 minute walk away.
We returned in December 2017 from a four week holiday at On the Beach Apartments. This was our 3rd visit and we still enjoyed it so much we will be back. The apartments are comfy, clean and contain all you need. Staff have changed over a three year period but all have been extremely friendly and very helpful. Reception will book tours and cars for you, offer advise and look after you. The views are superb the location second to none. The glorious beach directly opposite. The resort is quiet, trips into Cairns half hour away for nightlife. But a great base for exploring this region of Australia. Definitely our favourite place for a holiday.
My recent visit to On the Beach was the 2nd time in 4 years that we have stayed at On the Beach(last time for a 3 week period and this time for 4 weeks). It was interesting to read other reviews before I wrote this as we have only stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at the block of 6 apartments known as Blue Marlin. These apartments have tiled floors so are much easier to keep clean. They are cleaned and serviced every week(the day dependant on the day you arrive) with linen changed also, and are fully equipped to cook a 3 course meal(if you so wished). The downside of a beach front apartment some 30 yards from sand is that some of it is going to be blown onto a balcony and into the apartment when the doors are open but are far outweighed by the upsides i.e Beautiful views of the sea, a cooling breeze especially welcomed when the temperature rises above 30 degrees centigrade and one wants to sit outside and being able to sit on the balcony, enjoying breakfast whilst sitting in the morning sun. Trinity Beach itself is a very peaceful location and ideal for those people who want to retreat from the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life. The shopping available at Trinity Beach is more than adequate and a visit the the Kebab Outlet a must(the fish and chips are stunning😛). There is a large shopping mall at Smithfield which is a 20 minute bus ride from Trinity Beach in the direction of Cairns. The WiFi was very reliable as was the FOXTEL box with the occasional low cloud and storms being a disruption to the satellite signal.(outside the control of Gerald and his team). I am already looking forward to my 3rd visit to On the Beach.
Literally being a stones throw from the beach has its pros and cons. Fantastic to sit out on the balcony overlooking the ocean accompanied by some crackers, cheese and a bottle of wine. On the flip side, excessive exposure to the salty air made the carpets and furnishing feel very sticky and unclean. We were in a one bedroom apartment above the pool area. The accommodation was cosy, no frills. The kitchenette was sufficient for a few nights but if you intend on self catering for a longer stay, you might find the kitchen to be limited. Note that this is not a serviced apartment complex so you’ll need to wash your dishes & take out your rubbish daily. There is also a stern notice in the kitchen that threatens an additional cleaning fee if the apartment is left in a messy state upon check out which I found to be over the top. Management were helpful in providing local advice and the longer term residence of the complex were quite friendly. On a side note, definitely book a table at Blue Moon Grill while in Trinity Beach. Extensive menu with a local twist. Don’t order an entree, they serve large portions, providing good service along with a large choice of Australian and foreign beers.
Very nice apartments facing the beach. Not a lot of cooking facilities but nice food eating out. The beach is very good but a limited area for swimming as that area of coast has marine stingers and saltwater crocodiles. The safe area is cordoned of and has a lifeguard.
We always stay here in Trinity Beach. Amazing location opposite the beach with stunning views. The self contained apartments are modern, spacious and we love to sit out on the balcony to relax and unwind. The pool is a decent size for those that don’t want to cross the road to the beach. Cafes and the Surf Club are all within a few minutes walking distance. Highly recommended.
Stayed in the one bedroom apartment on the top floor. Was great to sit with an early morning coffee on the balcony after a swim. Nice to have undercover parking out the back. Local eateries were quite good. If you want a quiet place to kick back Trinity Beach is the go.
