It all started when taxi droped us there and he just said “Good luck with this place...”. We were wondering why? Here is why: I only recommend this place if you really just need a place to crash for one night. The rooms (we stayed 2 nights) first night: room was very dirty, the walls dirty, the linen broken with holes and dirty spots. Even the publicity book on room table was dirty. Rusty closets and chair. At night roaches on floor. We were happy to leave early morning cause we were going diving for two days. Then we have to come back 2 days later because we had already reserved long time a go, just to sleep for 6 hours, we ask for better room and it was full of ants.... No comments....

It looks beautiful from the pictures, but don't be fooled. The rooms are outdated, it was unclean (example we checked in and there was a pile of dirty towels just outside our door, they got removed two days later). The bathroom was old and the toilet worked sometime. I went for ice since my knee was swollen and told the ice machine was broke. The only good thing I can say is that they have plenty of parking. Stay anywhere else.

OMG from the pictures I thought I was going to paradise. Wasn’t I wrong!!!!! Rooms were dirty as, there was mould in bathrooms, the rooms were not equipped with what was stated. I book 2 x 2 bedroom apartments for 8 nights 11 people in my family were traveling. After checking in I spoke to receptionist regarding towels and kitchen items (knives n spoons) and was told the units are self contained and I should be supplying these item. I laughter and stated I flew from Brisbane didn’t know I was to bring my home with me. The pool is nothing like the picture so small and there is only one. The beds have holes in the spring matters. On our second last night our 16 yo daughter work to a man standing beside her she screamed and 2 guys ran out. They were in the room for sometime as they took phones, laptops, iPads, cameras, money, wallets and shoes. I find out later this is a usual think at this hotel. They lifted the locked window and got through. To top it off none of the staff would assist us to try sort insurance or something. If you stay be careful. Don’t let u children sleep alone. The hotel is a safety hazard in so many way.

Avoid at all costs. We went for our 35th wedding anniversary on a holiday package. The room was terrible, ripped blanket, stained mattress, dirty fridge and the room service was inadequate for our length of stay of 4 nights. Some of our Laundry was stolen,(there are tenants living in some rooms of a questionable character.) For 2 of the nights we stayed there were domestic problems resulting in the police being called. Screaming, tables outside being thrown into windows, I witnessed a woman being beaten. This Motel also goes by the name Cairns Rainbow Resort. Please unless you are absolutely, totally desperate, DONOT STAY HERE The only positive thing I have to say is that the young woman on a Reception were lovely,

Stayed here for 3 nights at short notice close to everything you need and not far from airport and city. Very basic but ok for price. I would stay again but make sure you lock up as there was a lot of people walking around at night.

Filthy, run down and unsafe! My young daughter and I stayed at this hotel and had two men attempt to break into our room in the early hours of the morning. Do not stay at this hotel if you value your safety. There were shady looking characters hanging around and it felt like I stepped into a crack den! This place needs to be demolished!

First of all our room was nothing like what's showing on the internet, very dirty with full of cock roaches and ants ( I killed 5 cock roaches in one night), bedside table coming off the wall, glass entry door (sliding door) was broken, cigarette butts on corridors and stairs, found only 1 spoon and 2 bowls in the room with 3 beds, there's only a sliding door lock to secure the room from drunks and theives, I was with my boyfriend only for transit and I wouldn't have felt safe staying there if on my own. We will not go back there in the future even with cheaper rate.

I stayed here with my sister for two days during X-Mas. The first room, which was giving to us, smelled like alcohol and cigarettes smoke inside as some men were drinking and smoking in front of our room. Kindly, when I complaint, we got another room on the other side of the building, which was better, however the furniture was pretty old and not completely clean. The last night of our stay we used the common swimmingpool of this property. As we finished we noticed we were watched by a younger man, that seemed not belonging there. After we left the swimming pool, he started to follow us. As I felt uncomfortable I stopped and let him pass to make sure he wouldn't follow us to the rooms. After I saw him leaving the resort area, we went to our room and I thought this was over. However, our room neighbor knocked on our door just before midnight, informing us that he saw the same guy spying into our rooms. Not knowing what to do, I rang the after hours reception phone line. To my surprise the staff that was on duty, did not take any interest in the incident, told me to call the police and hung up on me. TWICE. So I had to ring the police and deal with them, which took over an hour (it was already past midnight) and go to bed hoping noone would break and hurt us in any way during the night. That was a horrible experience!!!! Next morning I reported the incident to the reception staff at the office, which again showed little empaphy and interest. I contacted also the management, which didn't even bother to respond to my e-mail - which actually made me wondered if this incident was not the first one of this sort there and females get harassed occasionally at Cairns Rainbow resort??

Nice clean room, comfortable beds. Friendly staff and the hot breakfast was freshly cooked and good value. Beautiful swimming pool area. If you are on a tight budget I would highly recommend this place.

We travelled from Ireland and booked this accommodation based on their pictures and some reviews on On arrival receptionist was not very helpful and gave us our key to a two bed apartment. All she wanted was for us to pay the full amount for the five nights which we did. When we got to the room, to say it was gross was an understatement. The smell out of the room, the un-cleanliness. Holes in the walls and doors filled with white filler but not sanded or painted. Bathroom a disgrace. Floors not clean and hairs on the so called setter and ants all over the kitchen. We dropped our bags went elsewhere for food and decided to move immediately. We went back, complained to receptionist who said she had to charge for that night but refunded the rest. We booked elsewhere and were very happy with it. Even the taxi driver stated that most people leave there immediately and we were not the first. Words of advise from someone who travels a lot is to avoid this accommodation like the plague.
