We travelled from Ireland and booked this accommodation based on their pictures and some reviews on booking.com. On arrival receptionist was not very helpful and gave us our key to a two bed apartment. All she wanted was for us to pay the full amount for the five nights which we did. When we got to the room, to say it was gross was an understatement. The smell out of the room, the un-cleanliness. Holes in the walls and doors filled with white filler but not sanded or painted. Bathroom a disgrace. Floors not clean and hairs on the so called setter and ants all over the kitchen. We dropped our bags went elsewhere for food and decided to move immediately. We went back, complained to receptionist who said she had to charge for that night but refunded the rest. We booked elsewhere and were very happy with it. Even the taxi driver stated that most people leave there immediately and we were not the first. Words of advise from someone who travels a lot is to avoid this accommodation like the plague.
this place is shocking. I would love to know what room they used to take the extremely deceiving photos.nothing at all like it was. Had been booked in for four nights but moved out straight away couldn’t stay made my skin crawl was so filthy. There was ants. Human hair around place that wasn’t hoovered. Dirty dirty dirty!! The bunk beds had broken springs. Paint work on doors and walls was touched up with white paint and not painted over. Curtains filthy. Couldn’t stay was so bad. Staff didn’t apologise or really care. Worst place ever!!!! zero Ratings !!!
I was supposed to stay here for 4 nights, I didn't last one! The apartment was nothing like the pictures, it was dirty and smelly. The bunk beds had holes in the springs, there were ants everywhere, and it definitely wasn't cleaned. There was no oven as shown in the pictures but it looked too dodgy to even bring food into the place. The girl at the reception did not seemed surprised when we looked to cancel and did not apologies or look to accommodate us. We got a taxi to a different hotel and the taxi driver said the majority of people that book in there leave because of how bad it is.
Although knowing that it was a budget accommodation, the photos shown are at least 10 years old, and do not represent what we received. The pool area is full of broken chairs, cigarette butts and no maintenance at all. Rooms are old and outdated. It seems that cleaning the room only means typing up the bed, and does not mean cleaning the bathroom or changing the towels. When requested the cleaners were not eager to attend this issues.
Basic with not even a bar of soap to wash your hands. A drink tray in the garden bed outside our door with a broken glass on it and old cig butts in the ashtray on the table. Was a bit disappointed!!!
All seemed very nice upon arrival, free parking, nice air conditioned reception and met with a smile. But then we headed for our room (37) and as we opened the door we were greeted with a horrible odeur which is a clear smell of smoking in the room as the smell sticks to the bedding and furniture. This hotel classes it's rooms as non smoking, but with the strong disgusting smell it's clear to see they are not very strict. Furniture is all dated as is the bathroom suite but it is certainly liveable for a nights stay. But then I woke up to find the bedside table (see picture) covered with little ants!! If something was spilt I could potentially forgive, but with only a powerade bottle nearby this certainly was not the cause. I urge anyone not to stay here if you are looking for cleanliness.
The pool was definitely the highlight during my 4 week stay but there is no "hot spa" as advertised. My room looked out over the pool and as long as you do not mind the "night' lights (I liked the atmosphere) these rooms are worth the additional price. The more expensive rooms have a microwave, bar fringe and upon request, a toaster. The bed was comfortable. The downside was finding a parking space. I often had to park out on the street. I viewed two of the cheaper rooms and I would advise staying away from these unless you just want an overnight stay and the budget is tight. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely return but only to the same room type. Stepping out from my door with the pool only meters away - beautiful.
Good enough for a short term stay, this is one of the lowest priced hotels in Cairns. I just used it to shower and sleep, as I was out most of the days. I am a non fussy traveler that likes to travel on a budget and this fit the bill.
I have been staying for 2 weeks and it great . Love the pool and the people it has been great and we are still here ,we stay weekly but they still clean and often. Before we stayed in a 5 star place and the who place stunk and the room stunk and it was not as good as here but 4 times the price .
For the price it wasn't too bad. It wasn't the cleanest hotel but i didn't expect too much as it was the cheapest price for our selected dates. It is about a 20 min walk to city centre, but it is a nice walk along the esplanade. The rooms were basic but had most things one needs. It didn't feel extremely clean but we managed. If you want a bit more from your hotel, i wouldn't think this hotel would be good for you. But if you want cheap and just a place to sleep in, it is suitable.
