When we walked in at check-in time, the house hadn’t been cleaned since the last guest. It took us 30-mins to raise anyone and it was the actual owner - the manager ignored us. Four hours later, we had access to the house. For us though, that meant we had to cancel our dinner party and get five minutes of bathroom access before leaving for an impromptu dinner out instead. We were very disappointed and frustrated to be “homeless” all day, change our plans, and go out to dinner without showers.
The water was off most of another day, and then all of the next (our last day) and the manager wouldn’t respond to us. We were flushing with pots of pool water. We dealt with a facilities manager, and were accused of lying about having water to the house (like why?) and I sent a video to prove we couldn’t shower or flush or cook or anything. The facilities manager confirmed the pump was broken but it was awful and ruined the evening even more than not having water to the house. Two more days without showers.
Also, the drains STINK. The bathrooms smell like a sewer. We had to shut the doors but it barely helped and we struggled with the smell.
Back home, the manager agreed to credit us two days for the issues but nothing has appeared - I’m not a fool.
Summary: for three of our five days, we couldn’t use the house because it wasn’t ready or didn’t have water, the manager wouldn’t respond to us, we were accused of lying, and spent two days flushing with a bucket.
