Truly a wonderful experience from the time you check in .... a family feel, the surroundings give you the warmth and the relaxation that may of us crave. Room was 57, soft colours, great hair/skin products and having the washer/dryer combo made it convenient to refresh clothes.
My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in April 2017 and were disappointed with the resort and it's staff. Firstly it's a long walk to your room from the reception area, no-one offered to help with our bags. To get to your room you have to walk along a boardwalk, no nearby parking. As you dragged your cases along the board walk the bags made a very loud noise as they crossed every board. This went all at all hours keeping us awake at night and in the morning. Food and drinks were very expensive. Despite advertising free internet, we could never get a signal in our room. False advertising. Really overpriced for what you get.
The Byron at Byron is surrounded by a tropical rain forest and located about a 10 minute drive (courtesy of the regular hotel shuttle bus) from the main shopping precinct. The hotel rooms are contemporary and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Look forward to a 10 minute walk through the forest to the nearest beach, swimming in the beautiful pool area, cocktails and complimentary yoga classes.
Very friendly service, very relaxing and with that secluded getaway feeling but only a short drive from the town. Great food. Only downfall was the coaches that came out in force in our room on night 3 & 4.
As the title said, everything was oustanding! First of all, the location is oustanding! Located in a rain forest, the bungalows blend perfectly into the landscape. You will cross a luxuriant vegetation, bridges and small water point to get to your room. Eventually, you will see some wildlife too when exploring the propriety. One morning, on our way to the beach we saw a wallaby eating and then jumping around the trees. The suite we had was oustanding (we got a free upgrade to a superior suite when we checked-in, what a nice way to start our stay!). It included a room with a king-size bed, a dressing, a very spacious bathroom, a living-room, a fully-equipped kitchen and two terraces, one in the front and one the back (both with mosquito nets). It was modern, well-decorated and very clean. The service was also outstanding. The personnal was very friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional. We had a little problem with the shuttle that we booked to go to the airport whixh simply forget to pick us up. But thanks to the great staff we had a quick and satisfying solution. A special thanks to Vigo who took things in hand and organized another transport without us having to ask for anything. My only regret is that our stay was too short!
Love it! Nice environment, the pool area is beautiful and heated, sauna is great, great deck area. Breakfast was very nice. Beautiful walk. The bed is so comfortable!!!!! It would be even better if they had a spa.
Visited The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa for the second time in May 2017. The service was excellent, as expected. The standard was excellent as well. The location is a bit out of the way but quiet and peaceful. The food was very good although quite pricey.
Bad treatment, not going back again. Our original waiter was filled with attitude, and when he was called on it, complained to the maitre'd. Instead of fact finding the maitre'd took it upon herself to corner my friend and defend her staff! Listen to the whole story without judgement, and then form your opinion. And if your customer is made to feel uncomfortable by your wait staff, apologize! It could've been handled well and I wouldn't have written this review. Food was great and the wait staff that took over were wonderful!
Tired! Rude! Poor service! Unfriendly! Need I say more..... Stayed here 4 years ago and it was a happening vibe and I recommended this place to anyone who listened. Came first week of May 2017 and the place was dead. The staff disengaged and lacked sincerity. The only smile I saw was from a lovely (more mature) waiter...bless him. The Manager on call Sunday 7 May needs a lesson in customer service. And the waiters in the restaurant....seriously just be pleasant! I will not be going back here or recommending to anyone....shame.
We had a wonderful stay here at the Byron@Byron. Our children enjoyed the amazing natural environment, wildlife and beaches. We hired bikes and rode into Byron Bay town or just chilled out by the pool! Also enjoyed the amazing spa treatments and massage. A wondeful place and the staff are so helpful and professional :)
