A-frame Cabin near Mt. Mitchell!

This '70s A-frame cabin near Mt. Mitchell is the perfect place for you and your family or friends to enjoy the mountain air near so many of the great hikes of Western North Carolina. Just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, come enjoy this peaceful getaway. We are happy to share this gem with you 45 minutes north of Asheville and 20 minutes to both downtown Spruce Pine, Burnsville, and Little Switzerland.

This 2-story a-frame cabin on 1 acre has three bedrooms and one bathroom. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The primary bedroom with a private patio and queen bed overlooks the front of the property. Across the landing, there is another bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchen, bathroom, living room, and one bedroom are on the main floor. Within the downstairs bedroom is a laundry closet with a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishware, utensils, and storage. The downstairs patio has a gas fireplace and rocking chairs overlooking the front of the property.

Mt.Mitchell and incredible hikes are close by for the avid adventurer.

Near cafes, restaurants, and shopping in Spruce Pine, Burnsville, and Little Switzerland. A short ride to Mt. Mitchell golf course and only minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway for the perfect autumnal drive.
Other things to note

The driveway is off of a gravel private drive and we recommend having an All wheel drive to access the cabin.

The cabin is on a spring-fed well system and has a filtration system in place. With heavy use, the water heater tank may need a moment to fill back up. We like to call the cabin, "rustic with amenities".

While we prefer open-air living due to the beautiful weather, for the hotter months, there are two mini split a/c systems located in the main living space and the upstairs bedroom. There are two transom fans to move cold air between the rooms as well as ceiling fans.

During the cooler months, there is heat via the mini split systems, a gas-burning stove in the living room, and electric heaters.

Not only are there two gas fire pits located on the patios, but there is also an outdoor fire pit. Please be mindful and use your best Smokey the Bear judgment when having a wood-burning fire. We trust you to put the fire out when not attended and respect the surrounding areas with discretion and consideration. No wood from the property should be used as firewood.

In season, our neighbors have hunting dogs on their property. You may hear some barking during the day.
We are happy to share our beautiful space with those who can appreciate an "unflipped" space. We have tried to honor the house, as well as soon-to-be guests in our family cabin, and hope you find all of the comforts of cabin living.

Early Check-In and/or Late Check-Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If possible, an additional fee may apply, determined based on the time you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

Pets: This home and property are dog-friendly, and guests are welcome to bring their furry friends. There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130 with a limit of 2 dogs per booking party.
