Convient location and staying there a pleasure, thank you.

Well, considering no one was at the hotel to check us in it wasn't really the best experience. We arrived late, around midnight, and waited about 30 minutes before deciding to leave to try and find somewhere else to stay for the night. Had to call the following day to request a refund for the pre-paid room we didn't get a chance to stay in.

Very inexpensive, and yet the room had a king size bed, a microwave, dishwasher, good pressure shower head, soap and conditioning shampoo. The pool is done for. It is a sad dry shamble of its old self. I feel bad for it. My heart also goes out to the owners of this hotel. Earlier we drove through an old ghost town from the gold mine era, but this city seems to be a newly forming ghost town of its own. The young man at the front desk, I'm assuming the owners son, was very pleasant to talk to. He seemed genuinely interested in us as people, where we are from, where we have traveled, and he was willing to do anything to try to help us enjoy our stay. We complained that the air conditioner was working slowly and he was at our room within seconds with a new room key in hand. The moths, dust, and old stained chairs (which had the son getting me a new one as fast as he could) show that this is place has had it's time in the sun. But now it's so quiet and peaceful here that it feels safe, and this place just seems to have so much heart. You can tell it is a labor of love for the family running it, and I just wish I could give it a big ol' hug and make it feel better, because it is trying so hard.

It was an unexpected plus to find a microwave and refrigerator in my hotel room. Unlike many older motels this one had a recently remodeled spotless bathroom. The staff on duty was very helpful and friendly.

the hotel was in a bad neighborhood, the windows did not lock, there was no remote for the tv. only stayed there because i could not get a refund

Pretty bad. At check in, the woman could not speak English, so she dialed a number and I talked to a man, (I presume her husband). That was OK, but the confusion seemd to be that I had prepaid through [...]. It was definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. I question whether it was a 2 star. Water leaking over the stairs, (it had been raining), to you had to get wet additionally to get to the room. No extras like a coffee maker in the room.
