I have been here during a recent business trip in Budapest. During these day the FINA world championship is running here and this hotel is the Canadian, USA, and Japan house. The hotel is quite old but very well maintained. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. In case you like to train in the morning with a good run the location is really great, having the island a running ring of 5 Km. For sure, next time I'll come back here
We have been visiting this hotel for about 8 years. It was always okay here. If he was a problem, he was willing to be upset. Fantastic wellness and medicinal thermal water. Budapest is number one in spas. Gyorgy Lorincz at the Lobby Bar is a top bartender
Hotel is almost like from a fairy tale with the nature surrounding in the middle of the island. Breakfast was great and spa & wellness are good, although in the next hotel (connected by the underground passage). The parking is rather expensive and isn't included in the rate which is a shame and can easily be fixed.
Stayed in Budapest for one night passing through - hotel is in fantastic location and the staff were very kind and helpful. Restaurant was also very traditional whilst extravagant. The room was perfect with a terrace view overlooking the park. The spa was a nice extra - cannot fault this place and will return for a longer stay!!
This was our 5th stay at this hotel over the past ten years of visiting Budapest. Its location on Margaret Island makes this hotel one of the best choices. The hotel has character and is generally very clean. Wining and dining in the Szecheny Restaurant with its Gypsy Band are very romantic and set a great mood. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Underground access to the thermal baths located in the adjacent building is great.
Lovely location and excellent spa facilities. The quality of bedding, especially the pillows are unfortunately not 4 star quality. I recommend taking a pillow or two with. The housekeeping staff was also a bit forgetful with regards to supplying fresh cups and glasses in the room, but the reception staff are very friendly and helpful in sorting anything out. I would stay there again.
The room we got was excellent. Beautiful and clean, with a small balcony with view over the garden. The maid was very kind and friendly. Before our stay we had a god conversation about our wishes for the stay. The food in restaurant was not always delicious. I visit the restaurant before our stay in July, in May and June were I found the buffet much more delicious.
Good food and service, nice rooms, even if some of them need a little refurbishment. One thing that bothered me was the fact that when sitting on the outside terrace, someone was swiping and all the dust created end up in the clients beverages.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Its setting is beautiful on the island and the hotel itself was very good. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly to us which made our stay all the better.
We stayed as a couple for 4 nights. The interior is old fashioned but that kinda just made the hotel more cozy. The service was excellent! The people in the lobby were extremely helpful with everything - from calling us a taxi and opening doors when entering the hotel. Nothing was a problem for them. I recommend that you ask them to call you a taxi and talk to the driver about prices when going to the airport. We paid 20$ more on our way to the hotel by picking up a random taxi at the airport. We had access to the spa in the next hotel (which is kinda the same hotel because you can go in a 'underground tunnel' from this hotel to the other one and it takes like 2 minutes). Find the sun terrace on your first day, you will not regret it if you are here for sun and pools) - it's kinda hidden, I got lost twice on my way there. The Island this hotel is on is beautiful - but notice, bigger than you would think. From one end to the other it's around 2,5 km. The island has a mini zoo, an aqua park, restaurants, bars and a pretty cool water fountain. Short walking distance to downtown (around 20 min walk if you're not in a hurry) Will stay here if I visit Budapest again.
