Southern Charm is a really lovely farmhouse themed home situated deep in the woods but close to everything! We arrived in the dark which we don't recommend because although it's not located at high elevation, it is a bit off the beaten path on a very rustic road. Once we got settled and made the trip out and back to the cabin a couple of times and especially once we saw everything in daylight, we were very comfortable with it. Just follow the instructions given in the check in email and you should have no problem. We would recommend having a higher clearance vehicle. AWD/4WD is definitely a plus and probably a must in late fall, winter and early spring. We were able to explore downtown Bryson City which is a fun and very friendly little town as well as visit Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley, Deep Creek (Cemetery Trail is a must for adventurous hikers), Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Fontana Dam and trails, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also did some white water rafting with Wildwater on the Nantahala which was cold but great fun! At the end of a busy day exploring, it was so nice to be able to soak in the hot tub while listening to the campfire crackling. The screened in porch is a great place to relax, visit and listen to nature. Carolina Mountain Vacations was very helpful We had a wonderful week celebrating our 25th anniversary a couple of months early. One week wasn't enough and we were sad to leave but hope to be back soon and definitely recommend this home.
