We loved staying here in a 3 bed/2 bath with full kitchen. Beautiful property and very friendly staff. Loved to be able to rent bikes right on site with direct access to the bike trail. Super close walk to Driftwood beach. Glad I read reviews and was prepared that beach access directly in front of property was damaged and being worked on. However, it would have been nice to know that the workout area was not open—this is a big part of getting away for us. The front desk staff was nice enough to ask about other options to the ‘higher ups’, but there was no reply from them—so we were unable to use this amenity. The pool was beautiful on property. The island is awesome, with beautiful public access beaches with plenty of parking. It is $10 if you leave the island and come back, so if you plan to stay, bring plenty of food supplies as the market is nice but pricey. We had the best time golfing, beaching, riding bikes, spending time in the historic district, and eating! We hope to come back to the island—such a relaxing and beautiful place.

Enjoyed our time on Jekyll and this unit was small but comfortable. Listed as "ocean view" but none of the first floor rooms in this unit have an ocean view due to foliage and many other obstructions between the room and the beach. This unit would normally have easy access to the beach, but a storm months back wiped away the stairs to the beach. They are set to be back July 1, 2025-- but they only worked on them for an hour during the week we were here so it hasn't been a priority. Bedroom faces the parking lot and without dark curtains it is VERY bright. Noise from above units fairly loud. Glad we went, but if we came back we would do our best to ensure a third floor unit and inquire about the steps to the beach.

This was an affordable option for me and my husband to take an early anniversary trip. The location is beautiful and was convenient to everything on Jekyll Island. I would stay there again. We enjoyed having a kitchen to save on eating out, and the pool was nice. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. A couple of small things to mention: we had an ocean side room, but we couldn't see the ocean. It was blocked by a line of bushes. The beach was inaccessible from where we were due to storm damage, so I feel we should have been able to.pay the price of a regular unit. Also the kitchen was pretty bare for being able to cook. We made it work, but our unit at least did not have a lot to work with in the kitchen. However, overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The pool is not refreshing at all, maybe because it's the summer months. The water was super warm! The playground was surrounded by the biggest banana spiders I have ever seen. My children were not a fan. The first unit we stayed in, the toilet and tub backed up, putting sewage water all over the floor. We were lucky and were upgraded to another unit for our last two nights. Also, there is NO BEACH ACCESS from the property. You will have to walk, or, as the front told us, just drive down to Driftwood Beach. Over all our stay was okay, but we definitely liked all the amenities offered at a traditional hotel resort. One plus is the full kitchenette we were able to cook and bring food with.

There was no beach access on the property. It was an act of mother nature. The hurricane damaged the walk way entrances. I feel that info should have been included. The pool was beautiful, as were the grounds. As we were due to leave, we really wanted to stay another day. Check out day was Thursday. No assistance there. I was told it would be a while new booking, 2 day minimum which cost more than the original stay. Nope. We went down the road & got a place for one night. You lost a booking. Overall, great place.

Very well managed place. We got room 301 which was away from the other rooms from the building. Spacious and very clean. It accommodated our needs and it was right by the pool and driftwood beach. Quiet and it had all the things we needed in the room. Definitely come here again.

Furniture and appliances grossly outdated and don't come anywhere close to what online photos showed. Toaster didn't work. Dishwasher was disgusting and is decades old. Bathroom sink was clogged and wouldn't drain water. Also we mentioned we only needed one night instead of the two nights due to a family emergency, and would check out prior to 11, which we did. They definitely had no concern in helping or being understanding. They wouldn't allow us to stay our one night without paying for the second night even though we said we couldn't stay a second night. Tried asking for a refund when we checked out at 9am and turned in keys to prove we definitely had to leave and management said we had to take it up with Expedia, which we did. But Expedia has to have villas by the sea resort approve a refund which they refused to do. The price per night does not reflect the condition in which the place is. If we were staying for a longer period of time we wouldn't have even been able to. That's how terrible the place was.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Our unit was quite dated and the bathroom was in pretty poor condition. It was usable but it has suffered a lot of wear and tear. The staff was helpful and we loved the easy walk to driftwood beach and the pool area was very nice.

Bad weekend.!!

Was not informed u needed reservations for lunch or dinner. No breakfast was available. The cafe was being remodel. Sitting at the bar alone they only taked to richer couples and made me fill bad by not have another person with me. My husband past a way 4 yrs ago and this was my first solo vacation. Will not go back. I cried my hole stay.

We stayed at the Villas by the Sea last year and saw so many updates this trip. The boardwalks, adirondack chairs, lighting updates, the new restaurant, "Jekyll & Tide", etc., really added to this lovely, comfortable and friendly place to stay. On our way home, we talked about coming back next year!
