Used as a one night stop over this hotel was ideal. Some way out of the city but has it's own restaurant which was a good standard. Pleasant staff, my room was quite large and had everything needed. Free parking, would happily stay here again.
After reading the reviews here, I booked the hotel via weekendesk (so on a promo) as a Christmas gift for my husband. We went this week and stayed 1 night, with our 2 year old daughter. We arrived later in the evening than foreseen, it was after 9pm and way past bedtime for the little one. Check-in was quick, not super friendly but not unpolite neither, by a young man. We went up to our room (127) and found out that there was no babybed although i had specifically requested this upfront. And he did check us in with our 2 year old... you'd think he would have asked us or checked if we needed a baby bed. Back downstairs... where the young man said he would bring the bed, which he did a few mins later but instead of helping my husband carrying the bed into the room, he just stood there. Not that it's heavy but it's easier to manouvre with two... Good things about the room: spatious, clean and also the bathroom was pretty big with a beautiful walk-in rain shower. Unfortunately: the water tap in the bathroom seemed to be completely calcified as the water sprayed out everywhere once you've opened it. We also couldn't get the rain shower to work although the two of us really tried to figure it out. It was also way too hot in the bedroom, almost 25 degrees and despite fiddling with the two (?) thermostats, the temperature wouldn't drop. Why two btw? The worst thing was that everything trembled in that room, from the mirror to the door to the floor. I couldn't exactly figure out what it was, maybe we were sitting on top of an airco from the restaurant below? We had to use a sock to stop the mirror from trembling (and making noise) and depending on where you were standing, you'd get a free footmassage. Or was it the vent in the bathroom that caused all that? Then there had to be something wrong with it... After a not so good night sleep (the bed was fantastic though), breakfast was served in a meeting room. I don't understand... It was ok in terms of offering and the women managing everything was friendly and really tried sitting everyone when suddenly there were no tables anymore and people waiting. But why in a meetingroom? The kitchen mustn't have been closeby and there was nothing to keep things fresh like meat or fruit. And it wasn't really a nice place to eat breakfast. Maybe the restaurant wasn't available that day? But If you would communicate that upon arrival, people would surely understand. Check-out then, again by the young man, was ok and quick. But he didn't bother asking how our stay was...Maybe he was afraid to hear the answer?
Very nice, politie and professional welcomed. It’s my 2nd return this year. Always a pleasure to stay here. Very nice and quite. 5 min drive or 20 min walk to city center, ideal place to be in day busy and evening relax times
The hotel is situated close to Brugge, the receptionist was very kind and helpful, yet room service does not work during the evening and night, as we arrived late we received what we needed by contacting the receptionist who was very helpful. The room was huge, modern, clean, very quiet, clean, very comfortable bed, very good breakfast ןמ a lovely dining room. Free parking, free Wi-fi, the only problem we faced was having been quite far from the dining room.
A beautiful hotel just outside Bruges which I would use if I make a return trip to the area. Friendly staff & they upgraded my daughter to a suite as she was on her honeymoon. Due to bad weather our taxi did not turn up so after over an hours wait the manager defrosted his car & took us into the city center (Over & above the call of duty)
Stayed here for three nights. From check in to check out I couldn't fault anything. The check in was very quick and efficient and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. You can get a bus number 27 just outside the hotel into the bus station in Bruges for 3 Euro each single or you can use the hotel shuttle bus at certain times throughout the day for 5 Euro per room. Room was spacious and bathroom with a bath was a great addition. A nice touch was the chocolate on the bedside locker every day and the complimentary bottle of water in the room also. Breakfast was adequate with cereal, breads, rolls, pasteries, yoghurt. The coffee was delicious and one could also have latte or hot chocolate. The bar was a great asset to the hotel and very comfortable. Great stay and would return if ever again in Bruges.
Selected this hotel as a stopover while travelling from holland to calais. Also wanted a hotel that was close enough to get into bruges easy as we wanted to visit xmas market. As it was just off the motorway it gave easy access while in a quiet location. Less than 10 min drive to centre of bruges. Found room to be huge, very comfortable furnishings. Bed comfortable but lowest i have ever seen which gave a few issues but on the whole a comfortable good sleep was had. Bathroom was huge too with lovely walk in shower and heated mirror. At check in was advised breakfast was €12 if booked that night or €17 in the morning. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice, not the greatest i have seen however mostly fresh and tasty. One niggle however was finding after drinking two actimels that they were put of date by 5 days!! Would strongly NOT reccomend eating in the hotel for dinner. Long wait for food and when it came was dissapointing. Very expensive and not very tasty. Meatballs even came pink in the middle with blood running out of them. Overall would stay again but would not eat dinner and would ensure the breakfast was included in the room rate.
This hotel is a decent and average hotel. The best thing about this hotel: The wifi quality and speed. The worst thing about this hotel: The breakfast. Lets have a detailed look... Arriving at the hotel The hotel is easy to find and has a huge (and free) parking lot on the premises. The check-in was fast and easy. We arrived a bit later so it took a little while before someone showed up at reception. Our room was easy to find based on the description given. The only thing disconcerting was when the elevator started to ascend with open doors. But somehow the machine noticed that, stopped, closed the doors and continued on. The room The room had a decent size, but the furniture looks quite old. The bathroom on the other hand was remodelled recently. The biggest problem with the room was the way the heating system worked. At the lobby we were told the AC is also used for heating the room. When we entered the AC was set to 25° C. This was fine for my fiancee, but unacceptable for me, so we compromised 22° during the evening and 20° during the night. After I set the AC to 22° it took less than 10 minutes before it kicked in started blowing in cool air. This would have been fine, but the AC didn't stop, even after more than an hour it was still blasting cold air in. So I had to set the AC back to 25° and after a while the cool air stopped streaming in. Now this is a case of personal taste, but while my fiancee liked the room temperature, I didn't. Now onto the bathroom temperature... In the bathroom was a heated towel rack. The heating was set to 20° C, but that didn't work either. After a while the towel rack was too hot to touch, so the room temperature got really hot aswell. As it was a bathroom the higher temperature was fine, even for me, but still... During our first shower the water was just luke-warm, but every subsequent shower was ok, so maybe it was just bad luck. The beds were fine, sleeping wasn't an issue. Room service cleaned the room everyday and left a little piece of chocolate on the bedside table. This bedside table hadn't been cleaned for a while considering there was a noticeable layer of dust, but this was cleaned on day 2. Breakfast The breakfast was nothing to write home about, but a few things to complain about. The selection was rather limited compared to other 4 star hotels. There was a selection of coffees, 2 types of juices, scrambled eggs, bacon and beans, a selection of 5 different meats, cheeses and jelly, cereals and fresh fruits, but that's it. No veggies, no pancakes, no sweets, no omlettes and so much more things you might expect in a 4 star hotel. On sunday there were a lot of guest at the same time enjoying breakfast, but the staff had trouble keeping up with everything. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but in a 4 star hotel the staff usually picks up empty plates from your table, but even after we started stacking the plates staff went by empty handed (not just on a busy sunday, but every day). But the worst breakfast "offense", it looked like some leftovers from sunday were served on monday. They are charging 17 € for breakfast (it was included in our room), I had better breakfasts for half that price. Considering everything this hotel deserves 3 stars easily, but no more than that. It is the great place to start your tour of Bruges. Don't listen to the guy at the reception concerning the parking situation in Bruges. This hotel offers a shuttle service for 5 Euros one way, which is ok, but they try to dissuade you from using the train station parking lot. This parking lot costs 3,50 Euros per day and you can ride the bus for free to the market square every few minutes. There is no reason to choose an inner city parking lot. They are way too pricey for the little extra comfort they add.
To be honest, I didn't see much of the hotel, I checked in, went to bed, showered and had breakfast there. The room was nice and the bathroom very spacious and clean. Breakfast was ok. But what was remarkable was the ease of getting things done in this hotel, everyone seemed one step ahead of me. Leaving my car in the carpark while traveling by taxi to the center of Brugge was no hassle at all. I wasn't even checked in yet because I arrived before check-in was possible, but I was welcome to leave my car in the carpark and the offered taxi vouchers where charged to my room before I even checked in. Arriving back late (23:30) for check-in didn't bother them either, I was checked in my room in record time. The only slight hiccup was the next morning when I told the lady at the breakfast buffet my room number and someone else had mistakenly claimed mine. But I was quickly told I could go and get my much needed croissant and coffee anyway while they figured out what had gone wrong. I had originally booked my room for two, but in the end traveled alone, so on check out the front desk realized this and proactively removed the extra tourist tax from my bill, just a coupe of euros, but as with everything else, awesome service! After another day in Brugge I collected my car that was still sitting in the carpark and within no time I was back on the motorway on my way home, I just wish the Belgian motorways were as smooth as the service at Weinebrugge :)
A bit of a walk from the marketplatz with luggage on cobblestone streets... Next time would spend the 10 euro or so for a taxi! There is no parking available IN Brugges so that can be an issue. I researched ahead and ended up parking at the edge of town in a covered parking garage. Very reasonable - I think it was 15 or 20 Euro for over 24 hours. What ever you do, DON'T try and 'find the hotel' then find parking. My friend insisted we do that and ended up in a variety of bad situations with many dark looks from pedestrians and bicyclists! Had to back out of very narrow streets and it was NOT fun! There was a construction area that was throwing my GPS off, so finally abandoned that and went for the parking structure directly. The hotel room was large and very clean. Bathroom modern and comfortable. My room overlooked a lovely courtyard. It was "a little" difficult to FIND the room, so pay attention when they tell you how to get there. The signs didn't totally make sense for room location. I did eat the breakfast buffet one morning and it was quite good and reasonably priced. I did wish I had taken a snack and bottle of water with me when I returned late in the evening as there was not really anything available to purchase. Staff was kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
