Welcome to Sugar River Retreat, a 50-acre haven near the Driftless Area, offering an idyllic blend of adventure and relaxation. Explore the pure waters of Norwegian Creek by kayak, passing under a historic covered bridge adjacent to the property. Fish from the dock on a private lake or hike trails that weave through this protected nature preserve. This secluded escape offers a rare connection to nature’s beauty in Southern Wisconsin’s breathtaking outdoors.

DOG POLICY-Up to 2 dogs are allowed with an additional cleaning fee of $110/dog and a dog agreement must be signed before check-in. This is a mandatory fee. All dogs must be well-behaved, more than 2 years old at the time of check in, and house trained. In addition, dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in the home unless crated. If at any time dogs become a noise nuisance with prolonged barking, we will ask that your dog be removed to a care facility.

Perfect Place to Reset

This beautiful oasis has it all. We have rented many cabins but nothing comes anywhere close to the amenities of nature, fun, and peace of mind. We sat and watched as wild turkeys grazed the grounds and the deer walked on by. I was able to fish in peace and quiet in the perfect sized pond. The space within was so clean and relaxing. Did I mention I was able to fish!!! This place takes you away from the noise and puts you back in natures hands. The best part was that they allowed our dogs to join us. As we all know they are an important part of our families. This cabin is a must for anyone looking to enjoy life again peacefully.

Relaxing Weekend getaway

We wanted a relaxing weekend getaway. This place was the perfect fit. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed for the weekend. Fire wood was included for some nice fires in the fireplace and there was an outdoor pit too. Enjoyed the whirlpool tub. The property is beautiful with a small lake/pond. We saw lots of wildlife including many birds, turkeys, deer. It was very private. Also the state hiking/biking trail is right in the back of the property!would love to come again in the summer and take advantage of fishing and more outdoor activities. It was easy to ask questions about the property on the Vrbo app and we got quick responses. Would 100% recommend this place.
