Holiday Inn Express Bristol - North

A well located hotel on the outskirts of Bristol with good motorway access. The rooms are clean and the hotel was remarkably quiet considering they are underway with some extensive building work to extend it. Dog friendly too :-)

Although it was extremely busy when I arrived, friendly and courteous staff got me into my room as quick as they could, my room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, shower was good, and the complimentary breakfast is really appreciated, fairly limited selection, but all of a decent standard, nice hot sausage bacon and eggs, nice croissant‘s, fruit juice cereal, very much appreciated within the room price. Good location, Will definitely stay again

Booked this hotel for location near to UWE conference centre and easy to get onto motorway. There were 3 of us and room was very cramped with sofa bed out and no space for bags/cases. Bed not the comfiest but room was quiet even close to main roads. Basic toiletries on wall. Breakfast included and buffet style with limited selections. No eggs on our last day. Holiday Inn Bristol Centre is a much nicer hotel.

Stayed here many times. It's very close to Abbey Wood, and therefore very popular and very expensive for what you get. Basic hotel with limited facilities. Food at night is limited to pizzas or phone a carry out. When o was there for three nights, there was no draught beer, which was a pain! The pub/restaurant next door (fox den) is decent for food, but it can be very busy.

We stayed in the hotel for one night as it is very convenient for the motorway and tourist locations like Bath or the Cotswolds. There was some building activity going on (part of the car park was fenced off) but as it was the weekend, there weren't any builders so we had no problem. Our room was comfortable with a nice big bed and the bathroom was clean. It would've been a perfect place for a little break if it wasn't for an idiot who set off the fire alarm in the middle of the night making one of us run 3 floors down to the reception and back, which totally ruined what would've been a good night's sleep. I was furious when I learned it was a irresponsible guest. They should be paying for a refund of our booking! When we went downstairs for breakfast the next day, we asked several members of staff topping up the food about allergens (gluten and dairy) and received totally conflicting information. When we got hold of a list of allergens (that was kept in the prep area rather than displaying it), it turned out that they were all wrong. There was very little available for gluten-free (not mentioning dairy free), a bit of improvement would be welcome (e.g. having hard boiled eggs available along with scrambled, glutenfree sausages that could be cooked to order etc).

Very convenient for visiting MoD Abbeywood, UWE or any other collocates businesses. The hotel is very comfortable, has free parking for residents and provides a free breakfast. There is also free WiFi. Ideal for business travel. The adjacent Fox Den pub provides a good selection of food and real ales. I will use the hotel again and will recommend to others.

Very Clean and "cozy". British style accommodations - meaning smaller room than North American hotels. This property has an addition underway not an issue in that the work is during day only. Just a slight visual distraction. I didn't care for the toiletries- bulk dispense style in shower and at basin. Understand it is likely a cost savings and perhaps more environmentally friendly but just not in keeping with Holiday Inn high standards. Also for 200$ a night the value proposition was missed. Now my big comment..... I missed the pancakes! We have come to love the breakfast at Holiday Inn Express. In particular the PANCAKES. I get it; the British eat pancakes once a year. They would learn to eat more if Holiday Inn Express showed them why they should. Great hotel folks. Thanks for the hospitality!

Needed somewhere on the North side of Bristol for a night and this fitted the bill. Although visible from an adjacent large roundabout entrance wasn't the easiest to find. Despite being near the road and our room being opposite the lift the room was surprisingly quite and slept very well Room clean and bed comfortable. Thought we'd only been given one set of towels but we found a second set tucked away, too late for our shower- enjoyed shower all the same hot and good power. Staff helpful and pleasant. Linked to IGH reward account despite me not having details.

The family and I were visiting Bristol Uni and decided to stay over to take in the delights of Bristol. The Hotel was situated in an ideal place not in town but not far away. The receptionist was really helpful even advising us that at Frankie and Bennys across the way (where we said we had booked for dinner) that if we took our room key we would get a discount - very useful! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a little crowded but there was plenty to go round, with top ups coming through all the time. The food was buffet style, with both continental and English breakfast options. The only downside was the drinks machine. The queue for the hot drinks took way too long and could really have done with another one to service the guests. Enjoyable visit though and would definitely stay there again if in Bristol again.

Basic comfortable hotel for business or short stay with breakfast included. Courteous staff. Main issue was an overcrowded ca parking but overflow parking allowed in the restaurant opposite the hotel. Overall a quite place even though close to the carriageway
