We stayed in a one bedroom Executive Apartment (Room 365) for $161.10 (booked through Agoda) on a Friday night. Great value. The apartment has a separate bedroom and bathroom as well as an open plan dining/lounge and fully functional kitchen area (there is also a locked off bedroom which is used if you book a two bed apartment and it would have fabulous views). Standard of cleanliness is up to par. Amenities in the bathroom are shampoo, conditioner and soap. The views from the large balcony were stunning. I’d love to come here sometime in summer and so I’d get to appreciate sitting on the balcony (with a bevy of course). The hotel is very close to the Eagle Bay Pier restaurants, handy for getting off a flight and grabbing a bite to eat (we pre-booked Bavarian Bier Café and it was fab). I had a peek into the pool area when we arrived and it was unexpectedly full of kids having a great time at 8pm. Would never have guessed that there were that many families staying here as it was very quiet. Staff were great, location was perfect.
Excellent position, view and service. Roomy appartement clean and well equipped to cater your self. Quiet, did not hear any of the other guests coming and going. We had late check out. Close to everything you need, the mall, the river and botanical gardens. All within 10min walk. I would highly recommend this oaks and any other in the city. It was a pleasure to stay there.
A lovely weekend in Brisbane for a family event. A great location to stay as it is situated within walking distance to many local sites such as the Botanic Gardens, Queen Street Mall, shopping and local restaurants. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which suited us very well and was larger than we expected with each room having its own bathroom. Our queen size bed was very firm. Extra blankets were available if needed but winter has been mild so they weren't required. Full kitchen and laundry facilities plates, glasses, cookware are provided. The view from the 29th floor was amazing, being able to view the Bridge lit up differently each night. Reception staff were very helpful. Car parking in the hotel is in the green marked spaces - do not park in resident parking. Parking provided at $25 per day and you need to get a voucher from reception when you are booking in that you keep on your dashboard. There is a loading zone at the front of the hotel in Felix Street where you can stop while booking in and then you drive around the corner to the parking area.
Booked a one room executive apartment for 4 nights. With bridge views. Arrived in room to see beautiful view. Was gob smacked to see the main bedroom, also with a great view and full length windows was LOCKED leaving me with virtually an interior bedroom that was pitch black, dark and dingey. (Small window at end of passage way). I went to call reception regards this. This room was soo dark. The bed light lamp was not working - couldn't read phone instructions. Didn't matter - phone wasn't working either!! Instructions for room light (attached to ceiling fan), unable to be read due to the darkness of bedroom. I went and sat out on balcony to enjoy the view, picking up half a dozen cigarette butts left there as well. Whenever I stay in Brisbane I always stay at the Oaks Felix - I thought locking this main room was a nasty, mean spirited way to treat their loyal patrons - I will not return. And no, it was too much trouble to report my disappointment to reception - like they are going to ruin my holiday.
My mum booked two apartments for her 50th both were over $450 per night so you would expect to be impressed at this rate. It was the complete opposite. Our room was dirty and we had requested two kings but arrived to find a king and 2 singles. We also asked for both rooms to be on the same level due to an elderly unwell family member. We were told that this was not possible even though the rooms were both booked by my mother on her credit card. We had to meet him in the lobby and bring him up every time. I work on reception at a resort and know if the guest pays for the apartment then they should have access to both rooms. The staff on reception were so rude and everything felt like such an inconvenience. Definitely won't be back and I regret choosing this hotel for such a special occasion.
Friendly staff on reception, I phoned in the morning on the Saturday to see if a room was available that night for 2 adults. Checked in 30 mins early at 1.30pm. We had a 2BR unit with the 2nd room locked off. Great view overlooking Story Bridge & the Eagle St eaterys. Very handy to transport, used the city cat twice, is within 400m of the hotel. Car park spaces are a little tight but we had a large 4WD so a normal passenger car would have been easier. Room was clean & tidy, all appliances worked OK. Only there 1 night so didnt use pool or gym. Would stay again.
The apartment was comfortable with it's own kitchen and balcony. Views from the balcony were excellent. However, there was quite a bit of noise from construction at the nearby Brisbane Sky Tower project and from power tools within the building itself. I don't know what they were doing drilling at 8 am on a Saturday morning (?!). The internet was good sometimes and slow at other times which was a bit annoying if you were on Skype at the slow time. Also, we had the bed room fan turn on mysteriously twice while we were there (at 5 am and 7 am in the morning). Very strange.
Like lots of people, we were influenced on line by the comments like "First class accommodation" "Deluxe Hotel apartments" Certificate of excellence" and the like. The reception staff were polite and helpful, but that's where it ended. We asked for a quiet room so were put on the 28th floor. Not sure why we had to pay extra for the "Story Bridge view" as we couldn't see much of that. The worst of the worst was the sticky disgusting remote to the cheap T.V. in the lounge. We could only imagine the bacteria count on it. There were 2 damp towels left behind the bathroom door from the previous guests. The general cleanliness was very poor. The overall state of the apartment was run-down and needing renovation. There is a 10mm tripping hazard from the kitchen area which was dangerous that we tripped over it a few times. Then from the bathroom to the main area there was another 20mm tripping hazard. Of most concern was the disgusting smell of rubbish as we got out the lifts on the 28th floor. Reception said it was something to do with the smell from the building's rubbish travelling up the lift well. It was gross. Getting the balcony door open was very difficult and we had to be shown "the trick" to it by a maintenance man. Getting a hire car into the carpark is a very tight squeeze and we only had a Corolla! There were many scrape marks on the walls from other people trying to park their cars AND it costs an extra $25 per day for it. Grubby. disgusting, horrible, never again.
WOW I was shocked at how horrible one night could be. The staff was the rudest I have encountered. The bedroom door would not close, the spa was cold...I would never return with so much choice in the area.
