Would agree with previous reviewers in that the rooms could have been cleaner. We were there over Easter and being visitors to Brisbane, ask Reception where we might get a meal, etc. Didn't really know but "there should be somewhere open". Gave us a few places to walk to. The restaurant in the Hotel was closed. I would not return to this hotel or recommend it to others.
From the front reception staff through to the restaurant staff and conference staff, the treatment of everyone I saw was courteous and considerate. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they all took the time to ensure that my stay was everything I needed and dreamt of. Thank you to everyone at the Mantra on Queen.
Our family of three booked an apartment. This place offered two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a gorgeous view of the city. It was perfectly located only about 5 minute walk away from the shopping strip and we were able to walk to all major part of town. Disappointing experience came from when we found out that they do not service the apartment during your stay unless you pay more. Lucky we were only there for 4 days! Picking up the fresh towels from the front was not a problem but would have like to know this info as we booked! The gorgeous view from our room.
The front desk staff was very friendly, the room was not bad for me, but it was not bad for me to stay overnight for Wifi. And the night view was very beautiful. The Storybridge is beautiful in the front and there are many bars around the hotel, so it is a little noisy, but it is all worth considering.
Not value of money while staying at this hotel because they lack basic amenities. Not recommended for future stay. No drinking water, no slippers, no dental kit, no towel mat to move out of tub on dangerous slippery tiled floor when you find your partition glass is loose to grip.
My infant son found an empty satchel that contained drugs in our room. Staff only offered to waive the car parking fees. I now question the cleanliness of the rooms. People smoking on balconies below us and entered our room. Furniture is old and outdated and lifts are rickety and unstable. Only positive close to Woolworths - too far to walk into Queen Street Mall.
I have enjoyed my stay at Mantra on Queen. The staffs are friendly, helpful. The locality is also convenient to the shops and office that I need to visit during my trip. I would recommend this accommodation to my friends should they wish to visit Brisbane city.
We requested a room no higher than the 15th floor but were given a room on the 21st floor - we found this disappointing. We also requested an early morning 'wake up' call for 4.15am to enable us to catch an early international flight but the call never came - we found this very disappointing.
Overall a very good stay - room was spacious and had what one needs including plates, cutlery and a microwave. Was quite surprised in that there was no room safe. Front desk staff were all lovely, welcoming and accomodating. A few let downs though - firstly the bar isn't open every night which sort neglects the book direct (Mantra Rewards) bonus. I had a very busy weekend conference, therefore I was looking forward to a sleep in on Monday, unfortunately I was awoken from a very deep sleep at 7.20am by maintenance despite having the do not disturb sign on my door - this experience really wrecked my overall experience. Was out of my room for breakfast, no room cleaning, then I left for another few hours and got back about 3pm and cleaners only just went into clean so I waited downstairs. When I came back, pillows were still on the floor and they even left another door key in the room - I'd expect a little more thoroughness.
Average. Bit disappointed with cleanliness for $200 a night, parking was absolutely ridiculous! pay $20 for a night with no guarantee you get a spot. Toilet was broken, shower was mouldy. TV channels barely worked. Spa was freezing and dirty. I love mantra hotels however this particular one wasn't all yay great for what you pay
